Morning all, bitterly cold here, icicles everywhere, but ........................

Yippeeeeee, the bus got here today!!

Brent was the only one they hadn't been able to get to, so today they were determined to pick him up.

They used a smaller bus and sent 2 strong men, in-case it got stuck. The men managed to get the wheelchair over the snow and ice that's on the road, and got him safely on the bus. He was beaming from ear to ear when he saw them, and burst out laughing when they got him on the bus.

They didn't pick anyone else up on that bus because they didn't want to put anyone in danger. I thought it was very good of them to send a bus out just for him. He's gone off as happy as Larry.

I'll have to do some shopping now...........if I can get the car started, it's stood there for 2 full weeks. Hope I can drive OK on the ice.

Dermot, sorry to hear you lost your little pet, 7 years is a long time.

I would loved to have seen Brents face when they managed to get him in the bus bless him. That was so kind of them to do that for him. you get kind people all around you at times makes such a difference to peoples lives.
I have been having trouble opening GR emails I have had six now since yesterday from Mo and only managed to open three and that took ages means I have to back tract all the time and try to open them. Is anyone else on here having any trouble. like that.?
I have sent them an email asking for their help..
I am gradually getting annoyed about it.not a lot upsets me but this does as there is no way around it.
It is so cold again this morning we still have some snow lying about just patches of it. I am sneezing like mad to-day must be waiting at the bus stop did this to me gave me a cold. ?
still it could be worse? when I see the news and see the places people are in I thank my lucky stars I am not in that predicament ..
I wonder if Maddie went to Town this morning. ?
I hope you manage to get out and do your shopping Pauline.

Especially for any gambling addicts on here:-

Doctors say they have come up with a new drug that prevents people from gambling.

In fact, they are so confident in the success of the new drug, they will double your outlay if it doesn't stop you.

Hi everyone
NO sun here Marilyn you didn't open your suitcase when driving through, kept it all for yourself eh?

Pauline I am so pleased for Brent, he must be having a great day and a chance for you to get out too, even if it was only shopping for food, a basic necessity. How did they manage before? Did they bring things to the door when they only had horses?

Sorry about your guinea pig Dermot, he was quite elderly, my friends who have several guinea pigs are glad when they reach 5 years, that seems to be their maximum.

Have a good afternoon all.
Walked out this morning with little in the buggy for local estate cards. It was cold, but no wind, so not too bad. At least we got some freash air.

Linda :o) XxX

Hello everyone, from a sunny but cold Kent.
Oh what a day, I have tried sending addresses to those who wanted them, but made a faux-par on Paulines, and ommitted a few bits of it. I have now amended it and sent p.m's. Stupid mare that I am, how could I only have part of it. Oh well thats life, well mine anyway.

Pat,my only gambling obsession(sp) is Bingo, and that is not very often. I leave the lottery up to my O.H, if he wins we will share, if I win, it's mine. LOL

Hi All.

Been out Shopping for FOOOOOOOD..

The sun is shinning Here big time.

Pat is the sun out up there in Exeter ?

Now I have to do a Family Christmas dinner on Sunday .....do I feel like it ?.... NO
But I have just decided to do soup for starters instead of the traditional Prawn Cocktail .
Our local super market had Deluxe Tomato & Mascarpone with Basil Soup reduced to 50p a tub so I bought (6.).....how about that easy peasy to do .

So all I have to do is concentrate on the Turkey ,and that will be a crown with stuffing already in it ....I'm trying to cut down on the cooking side of it .
Gonna make a trifle and got Christmas pud & Brandy sauce already.
Then all the trimmings in and around will be dealt with during the week ahead.
Right that that out of the way........
See Shelly I'm as organized as you now ...LOL

Just wrapped a few pressies , now going to make my Christmas decoration for my table on Sunday.....Hmmmmm what shall I do .....out hunting for some holly in the field.....

Mo
I have replied to your email and told you what GR said . it still will not work only when it feel like,it. there are people about today that are like that lol
anyway I sent you my eamil address no good messing about like I have been.
Marilyn your up. and your thinking ahead.? . when I had large dinner parties at Christmas (that was when I lived in Ealing) I use to decorate a basket put it in the middle of the table and make cotton wool snowballs in each snowball I put a small present only a nic nac not the real presently could be a keyring . Earings. small presents and a little holly label on each one. it was a novel idea and people like it. the thing is I could use the snowballs time and time again.saved money Lol it looked nice set in the middle of the table as I sprinkled glitter on it.

My daughter carried on this .my son in Law Steve made a sledge of wood and little reindeers pulling it the snowballs fit in the sledge
I still look forward to the little present I get from that. I dont think I will every grow up.at Chrstmas time

I too have had sun today. this afternoon it was like a spring day I went into my bedroom at the back of the flat , and looked out of the window to see two yellow roses on the bush outside the window. In all this cold
weather how can they bloom in this cold snowy weather ?

Ladies......an apology.........a really sincere one.

Christmas Cards.........please don't send me any.....make a small donation to the RNLI or Cancer UK or a Charity of your choice..

All our friends (all two of them) know this is what we prefer and make a donation accordingly.

Hope you don't take offence at this.

Best wishes,

I am expecting you all to make a personal visit on Christmas Eve loaded with pressies.

Will make sure there is loads of room for the Streeeettttccchhhed Limo Sleigh and the dozen or so reindeers to park up safely.

As you will be visiting Scotland you know how generous we Scots are...

I will have a Mince Meat Pie and a Sherry ready for you all to share.PMSL

Stephen, I hope you will not be offended, but would you mind if I make a donation to SENSE, a charity for the deaf ,blind, and the Cerebal Palsy charity, I support them locally,in both of their charity shops. My friends son has Cerebal Palsy, and he is such a lovely lad,and is a credit to his parents, you could not wish to meet a happier boy.

Right we are all at yours for Christmas Eve, is it bring a bottle.
I love Mince pies, but not Mince Meat pies.
Make sure the path is clear of snow though please.

I wonder if Maddie has got back from her christmas shopping, or if she got swept away by the students march.
Maddie do we have to send for Stephen and the boys to rescue you. They have got the training to do it. They will be in disguise,so you might not recognise them, but if one ask you about your THONGS you will know it is, ahem , excuse me, but I think his name is Stephen.
