Stephen2009 Report 12 Dec 2010 21:11

FACT.

A friend overheard two women talking while window shopping,

'Yes!' say one 'I really like Christmas.....but I can't stand all the Religious nonsense'.

Cath could hardly believe what she had just heard.

Stephen, I really wish people would remember what the true meaning of Christmas is, and not what it has become.......a big money spinning venture for big businesses. And yes I know it's what we have done, but it's getting out of hand now.
Children are not satisfied with a small token gift,as we were as children.
It has to cost big bucks, for them to appreciate it.

I shall probably be thrown off the site for saying this, but ***lowers voice conspiratorially*** if you keep young children away from commercial television channels, they are still satisfied with the less expensive Christmas gift.

Cath2010

Cath2010 Report 12 Dec 2010 21:47

Fiona aka Ruby,
I have to agree with that. My grandchildren are very good and always grateful for what they get but I have encountered mega tantrums with some who had better remain nameless.

Well thats me for tonight, got to be up early so goodnight to everyone,

Mo, how do you know I am a dirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrty gal. Who has been talking, was it Neil or David.

I have been the model of propriety all day. Gawd its boring.

Ah yes religion. Its a funny old thing isnt it.

I wear a crucifix that Kevin bought me for my 21st birthday. I do not take it off. I got married in it. Had the children in it. Got taken ill in it. Only took if off for the ops. My lovely Mum died 5 years ago. I bought her a cross about 30 years ago. I now wear it on the same chain at the crucifix.

I was in the jewellers the other week, and the conversation betwen two young bimbos went as follows.

To the salesman.

Could I have one of those cross thingies, with a little man on it, please.

WHAT.

Is it just me. Or was that potty.

(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?

Tea or Coffee

Porridge or Cereals. Scrambled eggs on Toast.

Morning all.

It's a different fella that is posting this morning.

I'm soul searching and having to struggle with very deep feelings of emotion.

Why ?

I found out last night about a Half Sister I never knew existed. She is getting on in years. I know she too is having to cope with the same feelings as me.

She also wants to know more about her dad . Information that only I can give her.

She knew about my family and had seen various postings in the local Press about us over the years.

What to do ? That is the BIG question.

Let sleeping dogs lie. Or meet with her and give her information that may calm her soul.

My mind will certainly not be 100% on work today.

Have a good day ya all !
