Patricia,

I had seven brothers and four sisters, I'm the baby.

All are now gone, my last brother died in February this year.

The one that has popped up is a Christmas surprise left to me by my dad.

'Skeltons in a cupboard' eh.

Stephen, is she older than all of your siblings would have been?

What does Mrs Stephen think you should do?

Someone I know, found out she had an older brother when she was 70. She knew she was adopted but was told her birth mother died giving birth to her and there'd been no other children.

Pauline it's sods law that both cards turned up at the same time. I can't believe the first one got through the way it did.
Just goes to show that the postal workers can get it right, bless them they must be rushed of their feet at this time of year. Plus they had the backlog of mail that could not be moved during the snow.

Stephen, what has your wife said about your surprise sibling. Obviously you would have both spoken about it.
My word your poor mum had her hands full with 12 of you.
I have visions of you all sharing beds,as the houses would not have been big enough to accommodate 14 of you comfortably. Unless of course you had a mansion, with servants.
My grandparents had 11 children, and lived in a two bedroomed house.
It amazes me, when we read of people in the papers, who are are asking for bigger living accommodation. It makes me wonder just how our forefathers coped. In truth, we are spoilt these days.

Good evening Pat and Cath.
Enjoy your football match Cath, try and find a warm corner to watch. You will need a drink after to warm the cockles of your heart.

I met my friends this morning for coffee as well Pat, but we sat outside so that those who smoke could enjoy their ciggies. Brrrr it was flipping freeeeezing out there, so we made it a quickie and went to our respective homes, in the warm again.

Hello Everyone.

Hope everyone is well and warm.

Mommy I am an old fart who does not keep up with fashion anymore, so no I do not have any wellybums. I went looking for them, and yes you are right, they are very colourful.

One pair I saw was just the pattern of a dress I wore in the Sixties.

Now THEN I was fashionable. I was the trendiest up our street. I had the longest hair and the shortest skirt. The skinniest legs and the blackest of eyes [makeup] I thought I was the bees knees.

Most of the shops have been empty today. I think it will pick tomorrow if the snow is confirmed. I have been buying dribs and drabs, but must make a concerted effort this weekend. Or else the week will just go and we will be eating dripping sandwiches. lol

Talking of large families, my dad was one of 10, Mum one of 8. No telly you see. pmsl

Rita, your warfarin check up are very important arent they. I used to have to go every fortnight when I was on it. I am now on aspirin just to keep my blood thin. I bruise like a peach. lol

Precious, moi?

Hi Maddie.
I'm sure you are not an old *art with an F.
We have a wonderful shop in our precinct, that sells all colourful wellies.
They are doing a roaring trade.
Oh purleeees Maddie, those were the days, all the thick pan stick make up,
false eyelashes, black kohl eye liner, and lashings and lashings of mascara.
I think the reason the shops were quiet Maddie, was because it was so cold. No one was hanging around today in town. Maybe people were going to places like Bluewater and Lakeside,as they are all under cover
and warmer.

Come on Marilyn, we have all shown our mugshots of our weddings, where is yours.

In school, we were taught a little adage from Arabic in origin:

"He who knows, and knows he knows - he is a wise man: seek him.

"He who knows not, and knows he knows not - he is a child: teach him.

"He who knows, and knows not he knows - he is asleep: wake him.

"But he who knows not, and knows not he knows not - he is a fool: shun him."

Marilyn I had natural curly hair my Grandmother one day put some rags in my hair and curled the hair around my Mother had a fit when she came home and saw it. it was like a rag dolls sticking out
at my wedding I rolled the hair around a brush to get it to look like that..
my sister use to get annoyed my having curley hair and black while hers was the Scottish side and ginger like my eldest sons .hers was straight.
My father was the same as mine he use to put loads of brill cream on the try and get rid of some of the curl.. I will have to see if I can find a photo of him when he was young.
Pat and Cath we will need your birthday dates if you dont mind. we like to send wishes on your birthdays. If you rather no that ok.
Stephen If I didnt know anything about my father or Mother and I had the chance to find out, I would want to know. even if you dont meet.?
even knowing my family there are things I wished I had known and will never now. I often sit and think about them.
