Good morning everyone, just a coffee for now I think. Well it seems you all had a worrying day one way or another yesterday, hope today is better . I was missing yesterday only because I had a lot to do and then have had 3 year old granddaughter to stay overnight. She was up at the crack of dawn, jumped into our bed and elbowed me in the eye!!! Talk about a rude awakening. We have no snow as yet, just lots of rain and cold. Supposed to be going out tonight to OH's work Christmas do but to be honest I'b be just as happy to stay in the warm and curl up by fire. Will look in again later, have a good day and take care if you have to go out, stay warm

Lovely breakfast Jean, I had it all, we need hot food in this weather.
We didn't get any snow again, can't believe how lucky we've been this time. Mind you, it's so cold that it hurts when the air touches my face.
Shelly, I mustn't have an accent either because everyone round here sounds the same as me. Mind you, when I went to Kent (long time ago), people said they couldn't understand my 'Scottish' accent!! Makes me wonder where they think the Scottish border is.
Take care anyone who's going out in the snow and ice today.

Pauline,
A lot of folk think anything North of the Watford Gap is either 'Foreign' or 'Alien'.
How are managing now.....Is Brent having his trips to the Centre ok.
Does it close over the feative period ?

I have got your snow it is like a snow storm reminds me of one of those little glasses you shake up and see the snow flying about it is about 3 foot more in some places.and still snowing heavy. The old fellow up stairs was out sprinkling grit on the paths I said where is your coat? he had forgotten it. he was like a snowman when he came in doors. The next thing I knew was he had gone out to take fresh water and food to the birds. and he was on his hands and knees I went to go to him but he said stay in the warm I am alrght he slipped on him bottom and turned over to get up. he was very white. I said would you like me to call the paramdics ? no I am alright my neck is a little sore but I will be alright. he w ent up stairs I heard him speaking to his wife.he is 88 years old.
Our Estate manager returned from Gatwick she was due to fly off to Poland this morning her flight was cancelled at the last minute BA put a notice up telling them they didnt know when they would take off so she came home. she said it was crowed at the airport and very cold. she keeps phoning to see if there is a flight available if there is not one before Tuesday she is cancelling her trip home and going Easter instead. so it looks like many people will be spending their Christmas holiday at home this year.

Oh Rita, I hope the old man is alright, that's a nasty fall for someone who's 88, it's a nasty fall for anyone but at his age it's worse. Please don't make any attempt to go out, it's far too dangerous.
Stephen, the Day Centre will only be closed on Christmas day (unless they get snowed in), but I want Brent to spend the holiday period with us. I think he would rather go to the centre every day, but all of his friends will be at home with their parents as well.
Stay safe everyone.

Hello folks, Oh my lord, we have got another snow blizzard going on at the moment. We went into town earlier, to get the last two pressies. I forgot to buy for two of my grandaughters boyfriends. Bought more frozen veg, just in case we get snowed in,and can't get out to buy fresh on christmas eve.
Shelly we ave got a langwage of our own in Essex, it's a good job we understands each uver aint it.
I thank god my dad was in the army, and we travelled around the country, I managed to grasp lots of different dialects. But I never did manage to speak Malaysian, or Chinese. Double dutch yes, English kind of, Essex sometimes. lol
Stay indoors Rita and Jean, do not venture out, it's soooo cold out there. Well it is here. I can see me going stir crazy before much longer, I hate being stuck in the house.
I wonder if Maddie has had to go into work today, I pity her if she has had to. If London is anything like here, people are going mad buying anything that is not nailed down, wether they need it or not.
Pauline, you will have to make games up to keep Brent entertained, or get him some new music down loaded to keep him amused.

Hello Everyone. #clips icicle off nose#
Hope everyone is well and warm.
Well. Our drinkie did not come off after all. So my head is very clear thank you Stephen. I appreciate your concern. My pal Linda lives in Herts and did not fancy a late night journey home in the snow. So we will go out in the New Year. We are all very accommodating to each other.
Mo. Of course you speak different in Essex. Them cockneys wot moooved there in the 60's settled, and brung the accent wiv them. I love going to Lakeside to ear all them little gels talking like they doo, when they arsk yoo if you are allwight. They are all the same. Fake tan, long nails, straight hair and Uggs. Lovely. lol
I went out quite early this morning to get a few more bits of food shopping. As I left Sainsbugs, a blizzard started. I was white when I got home. I try to walk to Camden Town, its about a mile there, and a mile back. So it is a good stretch of my legs.
No work today or tomorrow. I am starting earlier Mon, Tues and Wed. Then working til 5pm on Christmas Eve. Then i have 4 days off. So I can sit and veg. out, and have a tipple or two.
Has Marilyn popped in yet? I know she was staying with the Queen at Sandringham, but surely she can spare us mortals a couple of minutes.
Pleased Brent is getting to his Centre Pauline, but lovely that he is home all over the Christmas period. Christmas is for families, and being together.
Big hello to everyone.
See you later.

Marilyn has been in to speak to us, she said Pete is still suffering, ahhh bless him,but is better than he was.
Enjoy your couple of days respite, and then back to the Christmas madness. Luv Mo xxx

Rita, I've been playing around with that photo again. You said your flowers were blue but didn't say if you had white with them. Couldn't get a very good shade of blue on them.

Afternoon all, Still no snow here which is a shame as I was going to use it as an excuse to stay in tonight !! Bah humbug. Granddaughter gone home so peaceful here now. Will have a snooze to recharge myself before going out, then a hot bath and wrap up warm in case we have to walk home. Hope everyone is safe and warm, might pop back later depending on my state of inebriation, lol. Take care,
Cath xx

ACCENTS
I was trying to highlight the number of adverts on telly at this time of year that are noted for the use of French and Italian accents and also use guys with 'designer stubble'..
All our own local accents are usually fine, at least they are home grown.
