Our snow's back!!!

Most of the ice had gone from the roads, but now it's covered in snow again. We have a white lawn.

Not too deep at the moment but it's been coming down since about 7am.

I'm going out today for my Christmas lunch with the people from the college .............even if I have to walk there in my wellies and woolly hat.

On second thoughts I'll drive, it only takes about 15 minutes in the car.

I went out to put cards in the doors of my neighbours and came back looking like a snowman.


Edit: Mo, my niece seems to be OK, she's been told she can start back at work in January.

I feel better than I did yesterday . didnt have the whisky had hot lemon with honey and two tablets. my cold is in my head now and I have given it to my son this awful flu virus what a thing to pass onto him ?
The man in the flat above went to the chemist this mornin, to collect my tablets, he was going there to collect his wifes. when he came back and gave me the packet with my tablet. I had a little note from my doctor and also a blood test form for 4 weeks time.
so I dont have to go out today.

Stephen sorry to hear about your briefcase being stolen people are so light fingered these days,they dont stop at stealing anything.
If you had nothing of value in it they might dump it in a waste bin so you could get it back.? My children brought me briefcases in the past as presents but they always got them embossed with my initials RGD incase it was stolen .they thought it could be reconised easily.

Pauline so you have snow again .? I thought you might watching the forcast last night on TV. parts of Scotland were badly hit as well.
we have mild weather at the moment but expect a big freeze soon.

just a quick dash in before I go off to work.

Well I set the alarm earlier than usual, and got out as dawn broke [yeh right]

However, Oxford Street was quite empty. I knew exactly where I was going, and got in, got it, got home.

So now that is all the pressies done. I know, I am not organised. There dont seem to be enough hours in the day.

So now it is just the veg, dairy and bread that I need to pick up.

I will probably get veg and bread on Wednesday, and get Kevin to pick up some milk on Friday.

Then batton down the hatches, and not move for two days, apart from taking the dog for a wee wee. lol

Pauline, I feel very sorry for you. Have you dried off yet. Dont stand still you will get a scarf draped around your neck and a pipe stuck in your mouth.

Pleased you are feeling a bit better Rita. Just keep warm and stay indoors.

The snow is heading south, so our trip on Saturday may have to be postponed.

Ah well. Better get myself changed.

It is pouring of rain now , The electrician came to do the hall lights and safety lights this morning , as our estate Manager is off to Poland for two weeks. she left for her second job earlier than usual before the guy finished, he cleared off two hours after her and has left all the lights on. it is like the fourth of July. no idea how to trun them off ?

Glad you managed a quick shop in Oxford Street Maddie I expect it will be packed from tomorrow onwards.

just popping in for a read while OH has gone out to get Chinese takeaway.

Well its still blowing a hooley and pouring with rain as well, took the dog out and she wanted to turn around and come straight back. Hope everyone is wrapped up warm. Im going to curl up in front of woodburner (if I can move the dog, lol). and read tonight, p.j's on early and stay put till bedtime, its OH's turn to do late walk, ha ha.

Poor pooch, fancy taking her out in that orrid weather, I bet she was wishing you would just let her out for a tiddle,and then back next to the woodburner.
I have had my bath,and am sitting here in my P.J's,all cosy for the night.
Roly is of out to darts tonight, so I can please myself what I want to do.

Pat, where are you going for your meal tomorrow. Is it an evening do, or just a lunchtime meal.? Enjoy it whatever it is.

No snow here just yet, but just up the road from us, they have had a whole
deluge of it.
My son has just rung me, he is stuck on the motorway, trying to get home, and he says the traffic is at a standstill.
It's snowing a blizzard he reckons. He wanted Roly to go over to Maidstone to pick his Fiance up from work, but he cant go,as he's of out soon himself. Oh well she will have to either wait for my son to get there, or catch a bus home.
Huh once again the snow is causing havoc.
Going to get a cuppa, be back soon. Moxxx

I'm having mushroom anfdt hyme soup, turkey and trimming christmas pud and brandy ice cream.
I don't know how many pressies I've gt left to wrap.i think it's 5 and 3 of those are envelopes with vouchers!

i wasn't impressed when I watched the local weather. I think Exeter is going to get snow! Boo!

You lot are doing well with all theses meals your having , We have had rain heavy all day. my daughter phoned to see how I was? she has now got snow and it is gettting thicker she lives in Hayes in Middleses. we still have the rain but it is getting very cold so I think it will be icy on the roads tomorrow.. please all take extra care.whether walking or driving.

Shelly marilyn went a day earlier. to Norwich as they were wanted to dodge the bad weather.

My nephew was due to fly out from Washington DC this evening but his flight has been cancelled. due to heavy snow. he has managed to book another flight. later but that will depend on the snow as well.my sister is checking on the computer the flights so she can book him a cab to collect him from heathrow and take him to her home.

My son in Law is due to go to the London Hospital tomorrow to get his scan results so Brett( Stacey partner ) is taking them. I will be praying for good results for him tomorrow.

Rita, I will say an extra prayer for your son in law tonight. I hope that it's a good outcome for him, he has gone through so much, and deserves a to get an all clear.

Shelly you are right, last year we did have lights at the top, by the G.R sign, but one measley little snow flake leaves me cold, not very welcoming at all.
I don't fancy chops tonight Shelly, but Cath's chinese sounded lovely, now I could eat that yummy.

Mmmm Pat, that meal sounds good for tomorrow, especially the pud and brandy ice cream.
As you can see, I would rather have a pud, than a main meal any day.
I could go out for a meal and be quite happy with a starter,and the pud, and not bother with the main meal at all.
