Thank you Stephen for that, I like to watch the Cowes sailing. they show it on Tv some times. Maddie thank you for all that information as well. we dont go shopping that much when we are away. mostly look for PC and stamps. we like going in to stately houses and churches and castles. The Shearing coaches take you around on different days to see things The Ocean Hotel has lifts on the first few floors so if they dont have rooms on those then I will have to look for somewhere else to go. I cannot cope with too many stairs, Shelly I had a laugh at your description of what happened with your daughter when she visited. I bet it was not funny to her. ? My Bungalow in Norfolk was near to a Haven holiday camp.two streets away. we use to take the grandchildren in there when they came to stay. they had good playgrounds for young children.
I am having my Horlicks and then will be off to bed.

LOL Shelly, do you judge places by their hospitals? I suppose that's what happens when you have 6 kids.
Rita wasn't the only one who laughed at your description of your daughter turning up to meet you, mind you, I remember being like that myself when I had 2 little kids.
Rita and Maddie, I've forwarded Stephen's drawing on to you. I think our Stephen's uncle must have been quite famous.
Rita, you didn't send me a photo of yourself with a long dress on, the one you sent was when you were 4 and had your photo taken in a studio with a fluffy rabbit. You looked very sweet and pretty.
I'm going to have another look at John's thread now, good job Shelly''s keeping an eye on you Rita.
Edit: It's not just Shelly, it's Linda as well!!!
Now who is this John? Is he good looking? Has he got money?

(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?
Tea or Coffee
Porridge or Cereals, Fresh Fruit Juices, Grapefruit Segments, Poached Eggs and Smoked Salmon on Toast. or Bacon on Morning Rolls.
On the Hot Plate.
Morning all.
The stuff of nightmares.............
Fresh snow last night of around 2" followed by a hard frost.
It was like clearing concrete out there this morning. The jobs done now thank goodness. I will relax with a cup of coffee and drift of to my Tir-nan Og for a wee while.
Happy days!
I once met my daughter and six of her friends returning from a month in the South of France. As they approached I thought 'My God they look like a bunch of Tinkers'. As well as being very darkly tanned they looked as if thay had slept in the same clothes for the full month they were away.
The joys of being young.
It was on that holiday she met the lad that was to become her husband. He followed her back to Scotland......and his words to me were.....' I don't want to be without her'
Robbie is a great lad. They have now been married 11 years.
Have a good day ya all !
Catch you later.
PS Hope all the invalids are on the mend.

Hi Everyone wishing all a good day.
Shelly Weymouth is in Dorset. down South toward Devonshire. The Haven Holiday camp near me was in Caister-On-Sea. Norfolk it is on the coast. every year Prince Charles visits he has his" Prince Charles Trust" held there we got young Men and Women come for a week. I saw Him may times I use to walk my Lab on the beach and he would stand there and watch. he often smiled at me. or was it the dog ? further a long the coast going towards North Norfolk there are many camps there.further along you have the Lavendar fields.
Pauline I am old enough to be Johns Mother or even Grandmother thank you. I laughed at Shelly the way she described her daughter at that time.
I thought I had sent you the one of me as a brides maid then I thought God I hope I have not sent her the one of me in a swiming costume Lol
Thank you for the drawing and Stephen for letting me see it. it is a very good drawing looks very professional I wonder who did it ? the grave is unsual as well. I know alittle about art. My son Michael (the paramedic) was an artist and studied art he then went ont to be a Graphic art designer but got fed up and joined the Paramedic. my Nephew in USA is also an artist as a hobby and has a website and my sister takes his work down to the Gallery in London. My father was also a good painter. he loved scenery and my late Cousin Stanley Lee drew cartoons. Look at me bragging away here. I didnt mean to. I dabble a little myself well did I have not done any water colours for ages but then I am not good at it just a hobby among others. I still have all my artist equipment.
Morning Stephen one of my Granddaughters is like that now .

Rita,
The drawing was done by a chap John Avery who is one of the folks that helps with conservation work in the old Cemetery in Southampton.
I think they are called the 'Friends of Southampton Cemetery'

Good morning all, sorry I,ve been absent for a couple of days, didnt feel up to doing much at all.Today I feel much better, no aching joints etc so fingers crossed. Hope everyone else is on the mend too, any more news about Jean. Lovely morning here, cold and crisp but the sun is out which always makes it better. OH is busy outside fitting new boiler so wont be long till we can have heating again, YIPPEE. Have had to manage for last 3 weeks with 2 small electric heaters and wood burner and the house is freezing, think when it is up and running I will keep heating on for a whole day just because I can, lol. Because I've been out of action for a few days theres a lot of housework to catch up with so will pop back later when I can, Enjoy your day, (((((((hugs))))))) for Jean

. Catherine,
I woke up one morning to find my mouth was now down at my abdomen.
Rushed to the Hospital. Examined by a specialist in these matters.
'Your ok !' says he.
'You've now got Central Eating'

i give up! Last year I was using the calendar on omy mobile phone. This year i thought I would use a diary for the dates andd appointments. I put the time in the diary for my re-arranged eye test and then I went back to my phone only to find that I've got a hair appointment more or less the same time!

you can tell by the strokes how it was done. I thought at first it was done with pen and ink but not too sure now.?but it is a good drawing unusual to see a grave stone done this way, he died just before the 1911 census took place.so what was his normal trade. ? I have a pen and ink painting i did somewhere I will have to look for it. I say painting as it is the sea and sunset.it must be about I have been looking for the photo album that has our little boats we had in we had three in all the last was a 4 berth.I think I might have put it with that,
Catherine I was up quiet early prepared my dinner for today. did my breakfast as I am watching what I eat at the moment these breakfast that my friends on here do are a bit too much for me. Took my recycling stuff out to the commercial bin. sorted out the washing to do for tomorrow. answered some emails. did some vacuming and had a shower then made my bed.now I have a couple of letters to type.
I dont think we wil hear anything from Jean's daughter till she has the results in tomorrow.

Rita,
Charlie Barr was a Professional Racing Sailor. He left Gourock as a young man and went to the USA.
He became the finest Racing Skipper in Yachting History.
Do a Google for 'Charlie Barr, Americas Cup' you will find lots of info about him.
I have just emailed the New York Yacht Club to remind them that the Centenary of his death is coming up.

Afternoon All.
Been up a while, but not on the puter. lol
So we are all artistic folks. I will look at my e-mails later. Looking forward to seeing the one from Stephens family.
My ancestor was Robert Benjamin Haydon who was part of the Royal Academy. I will be going there soon to look in their archives. My son is also rather arty.
Did you say your cousin was Stan Lee, Rita. The same Stan Lee who drew for Marvel comics?
I'm not coughing quite as much this morning, so hopefully it will be on its way out of my system.
See you later.

Well I must be the odd one out then because I'm not artistic. My siblings were very artistic though, they could draw amazing portraits of people, but I struggled to manage a pin-man. Oh well, we can't all be talented!!
Hope all the invalids are recovering.
Edit: Forgot to say, we've got snow ...........aaaaargh.

No Maddie Stanley did cartoon for comics and papers over here that one did his in America. My cousin use to get asked if he was that Stanley Lee he use to say if I was I would earn al ot more money.
My cousin descesed now was in the army during the war and shot in the leg in Normady. He carried on doing Cartoon work when he came out.of the army . I have a large folder of my son Mikes Art work.he had to do them for exams.to get his Graphic art job. If I knew how to scan and forward I would have sent a couple for you to see. The consisted of everything for items to cars children cartoon etc.

Then I did a three year course at Ealing College where I did Bakery making sweets and Cakes for wedding and birthday etc.Ice decoration work. Bread etc. did Wine Making and Flower arranging so you see I have done a lot. my fingers work better than my brain.
