Spring cleaning already Rita? You put me to shame.

I've been busy today, but not with cleaning. I've done the ironing and I'm doing all the repair jobs that's been mounting up.......... like sewing buttons on and sewing hems up. I planed on making drapes but haven't started that yet. I keep putting it off by finding something easier to do.

Stephen, I liked the cosmetic surgery joke...........LOL

Marilyn, how will you manage without alcohol? If you drink enough of it, it'll take the pain away!!

Nice to see a few of you are feeling a bit better now, especially Jean who's desperate to get back home. Keeping my fingers crossed for you Jean............ although it makes the typing a tad difficult.

Maddie if you cross your fingers it might slow your typing down a bit and bring you down to my speed........... well, a bit nearer my speed.

Dermot, I liked your comment on the Beckham thread, well worthy of a big AAHHH!!

Stay cool calm and collected Jean, and you will be able to say bye bye to Doctor doom and gloom,on Friday.
This is excellent news, home in time for the weekend.

Pauline, Rita puts us all to shame with this spring cleaning.
My window cleaner came yesterday, and now the insides look filthy, and so do the nets, so that must be the first thing on my agenda.
Unless Rita wants to come and do them for me,(hint hint Rita).

Afternoon everyone.

Maddie.......have a laugh at this.

An Irish friend of my daughter was on holiday in South America. As he was crossing a border from one country to another the Customs chap asked him 'What is your business in ?' The bold boy Nick replied 'I'm here for the 'Craick', pronounced 'Crack'.. They promptly locked him up. It took a lot of persuasion from a Consulate Official before they released him. He didn't say that again.

Rita.....Constant painting.....That was on the Forth RAIL Bridge. They are currently coating it with a paint that will last ten years.

Jean........That's great news. Home to your own hearth. Nothing to beat it.

Marlyn.....Get well soon. Don't feel too down in the mouth.

Speedy recovery to all others still under the weather ( in more ways than one)

Time for coffee and a relax.

Catch you later.

Pauline,
I'm impressed all that ironing. I've got a load of ironing to do. I started to do a little bit everyday but I got ill and I haven't done any since! I'll get around to it!

Rita Report 12 Jan 2011 18:50

Stephen trust me to get it wrong I knew it was the Forth Bridge. my cousin (Freddies sister ) said he use to say I am nearly home when they were painting it, by the time they got home they had to go back and start at the beging. I said it must be a boring job ? he said you get use to it and at least he could go at his own pace.
Mo it is not intended to be spring cleaning I have a small kitchen and lots cupboards in my Hall so I cleared the middles shelf which has all my bone china dinner,/ tea set and puit it on the top shelf. then the top self things i had put on the third shelf I moved the china and glass things from the kichen cupboard into the hall cupboard. I bet I have confused you now
I have not finished it all yet if I keep at it I should finish it in four days.
I found two boxes in the back of the cupboard wondered what it was. it was a set of metal bowles all sizes the other one was all my cake icing decorating things uncluding things like wedding cake pillars and wedding cake decorations I have some China dolls heads you use on crinoline cakes. you bake the cakes in a round cake tin or bowl and put the doll in the middle of the cake after it has been cooked then you ice the cake on the outside and then do frills.up the cake.
I dont think they do these now.?
I was shattered when I finshed. lol
Shelly have you still got those sticky sweets in your pocket ? they will have all bits of fluff on.
I think you had better give your sewing to our Linda she is always sewing.Pauline

time for tea.

Oooh look Pat we are on page 1,000.
Midsomer is the only place I know, where they have so many murders.
I am surprised that any one would want to buy a house in the area surrounding it, for fear of being murdered. LOL

Hello, Susan here, Mum doesn't know yet, but she wont be home Friday, the doctor who said that had the wrong patient notes, they will tell her in the morning.
Hope she doesn't use any bad language when they tell her.

Hope you are all well.
Susan
They have moved her laptop so she cant come on this thread until they have spoken to her.

I meant to ask you Susan ? did the nurses tell you or the Doctor ?
She has every right to tell them off . about it. He must be a very poor Doctor to not take more notice of what notes he is reading

Hi Rita, it was the nurse in charge tonight, when Mum told me she would be home Friday I went to ask what time I could collect her, she got the notes out and said your Mum isn't down for discharge on Friday, so she got a doctor to come and tell me what had happened, unfortunately not the one who saw Mum this morning. Mum was asleep when I left so didn't have the job of telling her the news.
Susan.

That doesn't inspire me with confidence- getting the patient's notes mixed up.
Poor Jean.
Yesterday somebody in front in the shopping queueu bought some Creme eggs!

Good evening/night dear people.

Just coming on here to say nighty night really.

I have spent the day with my son, it was lovely. I met him at Bow, and we went to Canary Wharf. We went to the Museum first, and saw the history of the Thames. I said to him 'You wouldn't be interested in all these things if I hadn't dragged you around Museums and Galleries when you were young' and strangely enough he agreed. We then went to look in the boutique shops in Canary Wharft. It was nice we talked all day, and walked around even though it was drizzly.

He is working hard at the moment, and his girlfriend, although lovely, is not to keen on those sort of activity. He cannot get to us as often as he would like, so the next day out will be with his Dad. They will be going to either the Artillary Museum in Woolwich, or to the Rugby at Twickers.

Poor Jean, how disappointing, still she is in the right place. Those lovely nurses to look after her. Although the doctor needs a quiet word in his shell-like.

Hope the poorly sick are feeling better. I'm still coughing. Although the doc said it is a virus, and anti biotics would not work. Great eh?

keep well and warm.

God Bless

Maddie

Morning All
Thanks for the update on Jean Susan, sorry she isn't well enough to go home yet but she really is in the best place with this illness. I had such severe pain when I had it I thought it was my heart, very frightening.
On my own today. Hubby at work this afternoon. Must do some paperwork, backlog after the holidays.
Would like to get a walk in but think it will be too wet.
Still coughing but not quite as bad as before.
Think I need a holiday!!! Just as well the flights are booked. Off in March, but have to sort out a hotel now.

Hope you all have a good day today

Linda :o) XxX
