Thanks Jane for the further info I will take a look later. Yes it is a dilemma, we'll have to see how this job pans out and take it from there I suppose.

We were talking last night about maybe buying a second home, we don't have a mortgage on this place and have some money put aside so we could use that as a deposit and maybe get another mortgage to purchase a property down south. Even if we can't live there yet with OH's job we could possibly rent it out until we are ready to make the BIG MOVE lol. Lots to think about and lots to look into online.

Not sure if you can ask questions on the knowhere site. Sandra asked if we could watch a film I'd recorded "A Dog Called Christmas" it was a very good film, so I've not had a chance to check the site out properly yet. Might do it tomorrow as Sandra tends to sleep in longer than I do so I'll have some time to check it out without the TV on.

Glad to hear Hannah is much better now and can enjoy the rest of her holiday. Yes us mum's do tend to worry about our children, no matter what age they are. I bet you can't wait to see her again and hear all about her holiday, India sounds a wonderful place and I'm sure she'll have lots to tell you when she get's home.

Off to watch Diversity with Sandra's now, something else she asked me to record for us to watch together, I don't mind though, as they are quite good. Thanks again for all your help Jane, I really do appreciate it.

Mum used to do Liver and Bacon with thick gravy on a Saturday when I was a teenager and my best friend Lynda used to come to dinner sometimes on Saturday. Oh won't eat liver so I hav'nt had it now for about 15 years. I used to do it for mum as she loved it and he has eaaten it when I cooked it when we were first together.

I don't like thin gravy either and when I have gravy I nearly always get a dinner medal.

Jane that first pic you sent of the sunset was amazing and the others very nice too.

Morning all and evening Kim,

Dull old day here but at least it's dry. Nothing planned for today so we will just see how it goes.

Ann thanks a lot for the patterns they look great. I shall get oh to print them off for me as my printer is not yet attached to the new pc and I need to get someof those beads to do any.

Bins have gone out today and they were full as we missed them last week forgeting which day it was!! Not which day the bin men come but where we were in the week. Talk about getting old..........

Frank Report 5 Jan 2015 12:55

Morning my lovelies, Evening to lovely KIM.

I slept like a log last night, and full of the joys of SPRING even if it is WINTER.

I see some of the bins are already out, ready for the bin men tomorrow, must see what we have got.

Carol has just popped in, she is off to Australia on the 8th for a holiday to see her BIL (David's brother)

Not cold this morning, the sun did shine earlier but has decided to hide away.!!!!

The BIG decoration take down has begun, I have been bringing in box'[s from the garage. Ros will fill those with her balls (not really) :-D :-D :-D Then I will bring the BIG ONES is for the tree. These are very large and on wheels.

Yes Mel, it comes to us all, this old age, good job I am still young (at heart) <3 <3

Didn't think much to Foyle's War last night. I can't stand all this American Drawl. it will be the same with MR Selfridge no doubt. I have never even watched it. I like good OLD ENGLISH plays. that I can understand. Just in case you haven't seen it advertised "BROARD CHURCH" is back tonight. It's advertised every 5 blooming minutes. I hope it will be worth watching. I will be watching football first. that's on BBC as I know most of you will want to watch it ;-) ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D :-D

After BLASTING TESC# last night, I had a reply timed 7.09 am this morning. with a hot line No. to the Electrical Dept. They of course couldn't help !!! but they will get someone else to call me in the next 72 HOURS. GAWD HELP them if they DON'T !!!

Will all you girls be out to the sales this afternoon. Not that they haven't been on ALL YEAR. :-D :-D :-D

SUNS out again, so will get on w3ith my jobs, and see about dinner for tonight.

Morning Everyone,

Well I slept like a log too Frank after all the packing stuff away yesterday. In fact we were still zzzzzzzing at 9.00am this morning when the microwave arrived!! :-0 OH went to deal with it after slipping his dressing gown on as it would be too heavy for me to carry. Now I need to unpack it and get OH to put the old one in his boot to drop at the tip a mile down the road. I hope the new one isn't damaged as I forgot to tell OH to sign for it 'unchecked'. He never seems to think of these things himself. :-S I bet he will be joining Frank with the football later. He's been glued to the darts championships recently. He used to play a lot of darts years ago and has a few trophies.

I popped out after a shower and got the papers and a few bits and bobs from the co*op. With coupons for the papers and the shopping I saved over £3 which wasn't bad. Then I had a mooch around B*S at the retail park down the road (they are moving out soon.....boo hoo!) nothing doing there so I had a bacon ciabatta and cuppa in their cafe and saved 10% on that with my credit card, so it's been a cheap morning for me. :-D

OH seems a bit brighter today, but he's still coughing a lot. I think I'll get him to show me his tax return today in case there are things he's forgotten. He wants it sent off this week. While I was out this morning he pruned back his beard, but I think I will need to tidy the odd bit!

A friend contacted me last night about going to that fused glass workshop at the school in the village. They put an extra class on because of the demand and there were just 2 places left so we are going to it despite the cost! Well you only live once don't you! :-)

Maureen

Maureen Report 5 Jan 2015 14:17

Can't seem to settle to do anything today. Thought I might start on some birthday cards, do some tropical beach scenes which will make a change from all the Christmasy snow scenes but can't seem to get in the mood. That glass workshop sounds interesting Ann, what kind of things would you make.

I have the same problem with the freezer, I get something out and then can't fit everything else back in even though there is less to go back :-S

Yes, Broadchurch has certainly been hyped up, what a lot of hoo hah about a television programme, all the secrecy is a bit OTT there will be great expectations of it now.

Have finally found a door I like which is not too expensive, son says composite doors are the best, he did explain what they are but it's gone over my head, he should be over later to double check the door size and then I can order it. There is such a draft coming from this front door it feels like it's open.

Frank Report 5 Jan 2015 15:07

The BIG CLEAR UP is going well, the tree is all taken apart, and boxed and back in the garage. A lot of the baubles are packed, and delicate things off the tree.

My G has just flown of the computer, I will find it later.

Dinner is all sorted, reheated leg of lamb. Roasted mixed Vegetables , and my interpretation of Potato's and sliced onions in cream. All layered up with salt and pepper, I put them through the slicer thing, and I've still got the tips of all my fingers :-0 :-0 :-0 We bought back a Panatone (sp) loaf, which I have made a Bread and Butter pudding with, for afters, So again we won't go hungry !!!

Didn't know you needed a new Microwave Ann, what happened to the old one ?? I see you had to have a nosey round to see if there we any bargains, lol you girls just can't resist them :-D :-D :-D You have to spend ,to save on these coupons so it's good IF YOU NEED WHAT YOU ARE BUYING

Maureen, Your Christmas card is going to be FRAMED. Ros likes it so much !!!
We still have a freezer full of all kinds, I will take Ros's C. Cards from her till we run down on the stock, SHE can't resist meats when they are on offer. I keep telling her NO MORE MEAT, but does she listen. ??? NO. :-D :-D

Cup of tea is calling, with a nice mince pie.

Bye for now

Annx Report 5 Jan 2015 17:21

The old microwave worked fine Frank, you had gadded off to the seaside when I said about it before!! ;-) lol. It is very old now and what decided us to get rid was the fact that some of the inside was beginning to perish and break and it was probably not safe anymore. The last thing I want to be using is a dodgy microwave. I've always had ones that have a proper oven too as being just the 2 of us we use that more than the big main oven.

I like to have a nosey, but I wanted to use my credit note up for B*S where I went though as they are moving out this month. After that to spend it I will either have to travel to the city and spend £££ to park or travel the 20 odd miles to Nuneaton to their other stores. The coupons were used for veg and the newspapers so we did need those. We aren't all SPEND, SPEND you know!! ;-) ;-) There's not enough room here for too much stuff!

Painting some summery cards sounds a really nice thing to do on a miserable day like today Maureen. OH always loves to see your cards you paint too and makes sure he doesn't throw any out when he's recycling the others. It will be good to get a new front door as any draft from one seems to go everywhere doesn't it. Will it have any glass panels in it? I keep meaning to get a chain for ours, but it's a plastic one so I'm not sure how it would fix. :-S A friend who went to the last glass class they ran before Christmas made glass drinks coasters, some jewellery pendants and some Christmas Tree decorations, so I expect what we will do will be similar. It's only a one day course. All kinds of things can be made though, wall art, bowls, ornaments.

You did well to find a sausage roll left Mel. :-)

Hi folks, sorry I didn't get on but I was a bit under the weather with a tricky tummy, all better now. Likewise I didn't go to visit my daughter in hospital, just in case it was anything sinister.

However, I seem to have been out all day today. Carmel got an appointment with her doctor this morning at 10.45 because she has had pains across the top of her back and down her left arm, also irritation all over her body especially at bedtime. The doc said she has a muscular strain and we are already doing all the right things anyway. The itching, he wants her to have a blood test to see whats causing that before any further action, that will be this Friday at our clinic.

I visited Many in hospital this afternoon and they have been trying to get her out of bed a bit and into the adjoining special chair. But it is still painful for her and not as useful as being on her bed. Tomorrow morning early they should be transferring her to the Nuffield in Oxford to the special 'poisons' ward there. Apparently it was septicemia that was in her bloodstream, which is still being flushed out. It's going to seem not going the 10minute ride to see her on a regular basis but at least she is in the right place. After our visit today I had to go and get her clothes and things and take them back to the hospital so she has all her things with her for tomorrow morning. Let's hope it isn't cancelled due to some emergency the other end.

More later.

Oh has just snaffled another sausage roll. They are goin down fast now and I can see me going up the shop in the morning for more sausages, flour and fat and slaving over another hot oven.............. :-( :-( :-(

The second builder just came for his money which has been sitting here since well before Christmas. I asked him if his daughter gave him the phone message from me before Christmas to tell him his money was here waiting to be collected and he said no. You would think she was old enough to write that down on a pad beside the phone like I uesed to do for my dad as a child. That money could have stayed in my bank earning me more.

Evening All
All these sausage rolls going down ! you could set up a sausage roll factory between you lol.I'll buy some :-D
Ann the Glass lesson sounds interesting.Something a bit different for you to try your hand at :-D
Talking of Glass ,my new inner glass door arrived today and is now in place :-D.It does looking sparkling clean compared to the rest of the glass !!.Must have another clean tomorrow.

Oh dear William ,poor Carmel .It seems never ending for her with one thing or another.
I hope the itching can be sorted .That must be horrible for her.
Also I hope that your daughter gets her transfer to the new hospital without any hiccups .Poor girl has a long recovery ahead of her.I do wish her well.

Mel I bet your Builder was glad to get his money :-D..I never trust James to give me a message :-S

Gill it sounds like you have lots of things to thing about with the move ,buying ,renting ,OH's work etc.I think if it was me and Chris it would be a total nightmare
:-S :-S.It would just stress us out too much lol.I would be happy to move but I don't think Chris would now.I would like to be nearer my Sister.

James is all packed up now ready for Iceland. He will go to work tomorrow morning and then we won't see him again until the 13th.Hannah has had to see a Dr today with a possible recurrence of her infection. She has more antibiotics .Only cost her £5 !!
Tomorrow they move on to a 5 star hotel for a few luxury days. It's called Turtle Beach Hotel..I wonder if they actually have Turtles !!
Maureen when we had our new front door ,it made such a difference.I can't believe how many years we put up with the wind and rain blowing through the old one.Same with all our windows. Now we don't have a curtain that moves lol.Our new bedroom ones have blackout linings too so we find we don't wake up until much later than we used to.

Need to see to dinner now

Frank

Frank Report 5 Jan 2015 19:19

If I see another preview for "BROADCHURCH" I will scream. I bet it's been on a DOZEN times today.

Dinner was a roaring success, Ros found her gastric band was holding back to start with, but she ended up clearing her plate. She still has the bread and butter pudding to have a go at later.

Will, I managed to do most of those exercises IT MUST BE YOUR AGE !!!. Good luck to your daughter in Oxford. Great place, she will be well cared for there.

Got my "G" back on, and it seems to be alright for now. Fingers crossed.

I didn't realise we have CATCH UP on Sk# just need the lead to go between the little box thingy and the SK# box. Anyone know what it is called ???

More sausage rolls Mel. You should make him cut down. :-D :-D :-D

Must check what time K.O is tonight. I don't want to miss the start. Who of you will be watching with me ???? NO SWEARING NOW.!!!

Just the outside light to come down in the morning, and then we are all done. Ros had made a list of all card senders, I think it was over 100. But I thought WELL I AM SO POPULAR, WHY NOT :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D Can't get my head through the door. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Might see you before bedtime.

Annx Report 5 Jan 2015 20:07

Have a look on here Frank, it gives 3 ways to do it. It says ifyou have a WPS button on your Sky box you don't need anything else. If not you can still do it wirelessly with a connector.....see option 1.

http://www.sky.com/products/ways-to-watch/catch-up-tv/how

Turtle Beach sounds as if there must be or have been turtles once if not now Jane! I bet she's looking forward to a bit of luxury, especially if the problem is back again. Hopefully the extra antibiotics will see it off this time. The prescription was cheap! Some of my Indian workmates used to have a spending spree when they went back for their hols. At that time they would get made to measure suits for about £30 that were ready in a couple of days and they would get new specs with the latest, lightest lenses at a fraction of the prices here. It's nice you've got your door glass sorted now and back to normal.......you'd have thought there would be something to stop the glass just sliding out, but I bet all ovens are the same. So it's just the two of you at home for a week now then!! ;-)

Oh Carmel must get fed up with all these things William. The itching at night must be really irritating if you are trying to sleep. Yes, I hope all goes smoothly getting your daughter to the other hospital. She will just want to get better quickly now!

I'm so tired today I've hardly done anything so I'm going to bed early. OH had a sleep this afternoon so he has perked up now to watch the footie. No Frank I shan't be watching the KO, I can't even stand it as background noise.......just like you with the progs you don't like!! lol.

Jane

Jane Report 5 Jan 2015 20:55

Frank our little box thing doesn't be seeming to work for Catch up :-S..I will get James to have a look when he gets home from his trip.No use asking Chris :-S :-S
I will have a look at your link Ann.

What is K O ? have I missed something there??
I might see if I can stay awake to see Broadchurch....I haven't watched it before.
But like you Ann we have both felt really dozy today.

The new Kitchen bin I bought on the 29th Dec has broken !!!!!!.The lid won't stay down .I have shredded the receipt so had to get Chris to print off our bank details to show I bought something at Dune**.It doesn't say BIN and I obviously bought something else.So I just hope they take the bin back and give me a new one.We have the lid stuck down with sellotape now lol
James needs to just print his flight details off and then I think he is all done.I bought some Immodium and paracetamol for him to pop in the suitcase.( he hadn't thought of that). That is just a Mum thing lol
Yes just the 2 of us for a week.Bliss

:-D
Just less washing and cooking really :-D..That suits me fine
:-D :-D

Come on Jane, Get yourself sorted. Even Mel knows what K.O means.
A week without the children must be heaven to you. Think about us old codgers, we are always without our kids. Sorry to hear that Hannah has had to go to the Doctors. Hope James has a nice time in Iceland, somewhere I would never think of going. I think of the SUN for a holiday. !!!

Liverpool are the luckiest team I have seen lately. How they won tonight I will never know. Conrad will be pleased. !!!

The Bread and butter pudding was "HORRIBLE" using Ros's words. I have thrown it in the bin . She said it was nothing like the B & B pudding I make. It must have been that bread. I have been told it's very good for B & B pudding.

I didn't see BROADCHURCH. Football took preference.

Thanks for the info. Ann, I will have a looksee tomorrow.

Morning all, Evening Kim,

Don't ask about my night rest. !! I was in bed by 10.30. read my book and settled down (I thought) Ros came in at 1,15, and I was wide awake. This continued till 4.00 am. Got up, made tea and a bacon sarnie, and watched T.V. till 6.10 am Went back to bed and slept until 8.10. I feel like a load of wotsit now.

The morning outside doesn't give you ant encouragement to want to get up and go. Very overcast and down right miserable.

The little man indeed, wouldn't we all like to have one. !!!

Shower might put some life into me, but I doubt it. I will be like a wet week, most of the day.
