Morning/Evening All

Frank I didn't have a great night either.But I could have quite fancied a Bacon Sarnie and a cuppa about 4 :-D
It is dark and raining now, just as I already to take this bin back to Dune**..it has a 10year guarantee ....last less than a fortnight :-S.It is a Brabant* one too ,so not poor make

Oh Mel ,I don't like it when lights appear on the dash when they shouldn't be .Especially if it happens when I am driving.
When I had my rogue Scenic.(It kept over heating) the light would flash up telling me to stop driving IMMEDIATELY :-S :-S..Luckily I was never too far from home when this happened and always managed to get someone to come and pick me up .Then the car had to be towed in to the garage. They could fix the problem and bought the car back off me.

Right I am off with the bin now.BBL

It's the light that shows a car skidding and the engine light!!!!!!!!! I think it is giving out too many exhaust emitions, well thats what the book says. Stewart will not doubt be able to do something, MORE EXPENSE!!!! :-(

I also hav'nt had my oil yet and the next lot to order is today at the latest.

Frank Report 6 Jan 2015 13:25

Forgot to mention yesterday that Ros had an accident and broke the shade and funnel to a Victorian oil lamp that was her grandmothers. I have looked on Ebay to replace it, and prices are from £60.00 towards £140.00. and if you looks at the ones from the USA the postage is £30.00 to £40.00. So don't talk to me about "MORE EXPENCE" Will it never stop. and I have a tax bill to pay by the 31st. :-D :-D :-D

I have been out in the rain, getting the lights off the guttering and getting in the TREE that expands and has lights all over it. These are now in the conservatory drying out, before being packed away.

That fault doesn't sound good Mel, but no doubt it can be reset on the dinostic(sp) machine by the mechanic .

Hope you have your bin sorted, they don't come cheap. The one we have is battery operated. That's fine, but each time you walk passed it OPENS.

Conrad has ordered the cable I need for my "ON DEMAND" and it will be here tomorrow.. He will be up here Thursday for his small operation at Peterborough Hospital, and will call in on their way home. If I haven't sorted it by then, he will do it.

Just made a coffee and going to have a mince pie. Ros is going to Tesc# to get veg. and odds and sods.

WEST HAM PLAY TONIGHT, so I will be off down the pub, or send ROS in the conservatory as it's on BT sport, which I can't get in the conservatory. But somehow I don't think that will happen :-D :-D :-D :-D

Aaah Frank I am so flattered that you would want to frame my card, thank you. I have had a lot of positive feedback this year,

I have just popped in quickly as I've still got BAGS of ironing to do, just needed some refreshment before I get going again.

Can you carry on making things at home Ann after your one day course, it sounds really interesting and right up your street.

I had a bad night last night too, I think it was the thought of all that ironing today, I have a black out blind Jane, can't sleep with noise or light coming in the bedroom.

At least Hannah will be somewhere comfortable for the next few days and hopefully with the antibiotics it should clear up quickly.

The front door has been ordered, should be here next Tuesday.

That's good my cappucino coffee pods have arrived, just what I need a bit of caffeine.

Hopefully be back later, depends how long all these sacks take me. :-0

Afternoon All,

Misly rain here and overcast again. I slept well last night and OH didn't cough and wake me till 7.00am so that wasn't too bad. He's much brighter and better this morning so all the sleeps and rest he had yesterday obviously did him good even if we didn't get to look at his tax return. :-) I'd said it wouldn't be a good idea him going to footie tomorrow with his pal, but he's so much better he should be ok to go now.

What a shame about the lamp glass Frank. I never realised they would be that expensive to replace! :-0 Still, best to get one as they won't get any cheaper will they. That's good you will soon have a cable for your box. OH still hasn't requested our On Demand box yet..........I'll have to chivvy him about it I think! Talktalk have also been telling us we can have a freeview box, but where we would use it the telly is on the wall and there's nowhere to put a box. :-S These things all need a space don't they.

OH laughed when I said you didn't know what KO was Jane. Sometimes in his work meetings he would start by saying 'we'll kick off with.....etc. I used to wonder if we'd have a 'half time with oranges', but no!! I didn't know he was so keen on football then!!!! That's a shame about your bin Jane. It's a good make as well as you say. I hope they accept your bank statement. Ours is a narrow one we got from Jo*n Lewis to fit at the end of our units so that could be awkward to replace. So James will soon be in Iceland now. Hannah's trip must have whetted his appetite. Did Jess like the coat you got for her and did it fit ok? It sounded just the right thing for the trip.

Oh no Mel, not dashboard lights flashing! That happened a lot on my Ren*ult I had from new before I had my current car. Half the time it wasn't anything serious and sometimes it was just the onboard computer having a hissy fit and a quick refresh at the garage was all that was needed !! The trouble is you just don't really know till they check it. I hope your man can sort it easily for you.

It looks like we will have to set off very early today for the film in Warwick. They are doing all sorts of major roadworks around one of the islands, a flyover etc and OH says the traffic will be horrendous in the peak time we would norrmally be travelling. It looks like we will have to go through Coventry and I bet a lot of others will do the same so that will be a busy route too. I read the book Kon Tiki years ago (as a teenager!!) so it will be interesting to see what the film is like

We just had a carvery at the nearby T*oby. It was OK but not the best, but we had ANOTHER coupon Frank for 20% off the bill. ;-)

So you are 'dashing away with the smoothing iron' Maureen. Was that in a rhyme? I meant to ask before......have you ever burned or spoiled anything? That would be my biggest fear I think, but maybe you keep your eyes on what you are doing better than me!

I would love to carry on working with glass at home, but the materials are quite expensive and more importantly you need a kiln and they are very expensive!!
I'd like to try to make some coasters with trees on like these, but that may be a bit ambitious so I'll have to see what Our choices are.

https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/113654783/fused-glass-art-birch-tree-forest-in?ref=related-0

What I would really like to do is make glass lampwork beads for jewellery making and I've always wanted to try doing a stained glass window!! I'm getting carried away now. lol I know there are some residential courses you can enrol on and OH has often said he would pay (probably like the peace and quiet without me, although he said he would come along and stay somewhere nearby!). Maybe I'll have a look at some of those too!

Well I have bitten the built and bought a new Cranberry glass shade for the oil lamp.
It should be here later this week or next week. Just hope the packaging holds out.

I have also had a phone call from Tesc# regarding the Hud#. They will collect it Friday between 9.00 and 5.00. I have made it clear I want it to hold a charge for longer than an hour, or else it will be Trading Standards and the SUN on Sunday.
He assures me everything will be sorted.

Chicken casserole in the oven for tonight, with loads of Mash and Veg, both in the casserole and separate. Christmas pudding and cream for afters.

If I eat too much I won't want my beer tonight. AS IF :-D :-D :-D :-D See you later.

Maureen, that painting is so nice. You should see about selling full size paintings at local shows. My next door neighbour sells at least 20 a year.

Oh took the car this afternoon and Stewart reset it and told him if it happens again to go back to him. He did'nt think it was anything bad and oh is going to take it back a bit later for an oil change as he said it was a bit thick.

Have all the deccies down now and packed away and I am just going to shut the chickens in before it is really dark and then have a cuppa.

Back....

It made me laugh when going past the bin the lid opened....that would annoy me no end. I should have to get rid of it if it was mine.

Had a bit of a clear out in the uti room and can actually see the carpet now and that needs a good hoover as it has green glitter from my tinsel all over it as this one piece was moulting like mad.

Just going to have a coffee with oh.

Bin changed. The lady was a bit of a sour puss who served me .But once I showed the bank statement she just told me to go and get another one.The couple behind me asked if it was a battery one .I said no,just a push button top.Their daughter had a battery one and the same as you Frank the lid kept opening overtime someone went near it lol....I didn't even realise there were battery run bins!!!
Fingers crossed the new glass shade arrives safely. What shame about the original one especially with it being so old.Ros will be so happy to have it back in one piece again.
Lovely pics from Conrads new house Frank. It will be amazing when it is all done. It's BIG !!
Good success at long last then from Tes** about the Hudl :-D

Mel maybe it is just the oil that needs changing then in the car.Hopefully nothing much more than that.

Chris and I have managed to move this Jigsaw onto the dining table. It will be easier to do up there rather than low down on the coffee table. There is still a lot to do :-S :-S

Oh I do hope Ann hasn't got caught up in those road works. When Janice and Larry came the other week they said it is an absolute nightmare !!

I am so hot.I think I need to get this jumper off.The fire is going and the central heating on..It's all too much :-S :-S Phewy!!

Evening all,

Well the day started off cloudy and dry but by lunch time we had rain ,then we had some sun , not been that cold either .

Went shopping this morning and had good stock up for the store cupboard so if we get snowed up we'll be ok ,like you Frank we have plenty of meat in the freezer too.

Hubby should have started back to work today but he's got trouble with the brakes on the van and the chap carn't fit the van in to do them until friday so looks like he's got the rest of the week about here to get under my feet !! :-D

Frank, thanks for the photo's ,it looks a nice house with the high ceilings and i love the bay window ,i take it they were the stairs you had to climb every night ,two sets by the look of it ,i can see now how close you were to the sea ,i bet the views of the sea were better still from the bedroom windows .

Hope you managed to change the bin Jane, that one didn't last long and as you say they are not cheap ones either .
I've never seen the battery bins ,i think i would get annoyed with it keep opening up as i walked past.
Did James get off ok ? is Hannah feeling better after her new lot of antibiotics ?
They were lovely photo's of the sunset .

We had chicken in the Chicken Tonight sauce with lots of veg and mash.

Jane

Jane Report 6 Jan 2015 19:01

LOL Mandy .I bet you will find plenty of jobs for OH to do which will get him out of you're way :-D.Any outdoor jobs needing doing? :-D

James hasn't actually gone yet.He decided to come home after work just to change ,shower and pack his last bits.So I have a Pizza in the oven for him .That was his request :-D.He should set off from here in a hour or so.He says as long as he gets to Jess by 10 at the latest .Then he can get his head down for a few hours before they set off for Luton Airport.
I don't think Hannah has improved yet as she only got her new antibiotics yesterday. She did message earlier to say she was very achy. But that could be due to the Yoga Session she did lol or possibly side effects of the antibiotics.Chris thinks it is possible she didn't have the correct ones to begin with :-S :-S.It is such a pity that she has had to cope with this problem as i am sure it must have taken some of the enjoyment away from the holiday.

We had a parcel delivered this morning, and the poor chap had such a streaming cold.He asked if it was possible for him to have some toilet paper for his running nose.
He had run out of his.But luckily we had a new box of big man size tissues,so he went off with them :-DHe really didn't look well :-(

Lamb Kleftico for us two tonight.I have only just put it in the oven so it won't be ready for some time.Good job really as it will be nice to sit down and eat once James has gone.

I missed the start of Broadchurch last night so didn't watch it.I must see if it is on catch up.Silent Witness is back tonight :-D :-D

Frank Report 6 Jan 2015 19:53

I decided I felt to knackered to go out tonight. What with no sleep last night and up and down the steps this morning in the rain.

Dinner was another success. We had clear plates and a bit of mash over, which I will have in the morning with eggs and bacon. I might even add a sausage and tomato and mushrooms. What about a nice fried slice to go with it.

Ros is down Carols, so I can watch a bit of the match before she comes home.

Conrad showed us the new Bathroom Mirror on Skype. It fills the whole wall and makes the bathroom look twice as big,, and it was big before !!!

Enjoy your dinner Jane. or should I say DARBY AND JOAN :-D :-D :-D

see you later all

William Report 6 Jan 2015 19:57

Hi folks, just thought I'd update you on my daughters situation. She was transported to the bone infection unit at the Nuffield hospital at Oxford at 8am this morning, arrived safely and is in a nice room of her own, freeview TV and more nursing staff than could be imagined. Definitely in the right place and it may just speed her recovery. However, her last bit of time in the George Eliot Nuneaton didn't go so well.
At 11pm last night she was moved into another ward as her bed was needed. She went from a sweltering hot ward where she needed a fan to keep her cool to a freezing cold ward where she knew no one and the nurses weren't familiar with her case. She had a job to get her medication and her pain killers, plus other things I won't go into here. A pity the staff who had been so good to her didn't get the chance to see her off.
However, she is in the right place and will see her work pals during the day as Oxford Brookes University, where she works as a student co-ordinator (also where she took her two degrees) is just around the corner. Just a shame that it won't be possible for us to see her so often, maybe at the weekends, if all is well.

Tomorrow I have to take Carmel to the Low Vision unit at Uni hospital, Coventry at 1.30pm. It's to do with her recently discovered ARMD in her good eye so we shall just have to see what it is all about. You know, I would just like a rest from hospitals for a while!!!

We were out doing a bit of shopping this morning, nothing to exciting. We had to take back a TENS unit we bought last May because it isn't working properly and Carmel relies on on it for a bit of pain relief. They jiggered about with it in the pharmacy and tried to say the batteries were defunct, but they were not. anyway, they would have replaced it but it would have taken a week for one to come into stock. I paid a few quid more for an upgraded dual one which is actually better for her. AND, the old batteries worked perfectly OK in the new one, so there see :-)

Well, I'm off for a bit of TV now, I see Silent Witness is back on tonight, I fancy seeing a few bodies being carved up, makes a change from turkey LOL

William I am so pleased to hear Mandy has been moved now.As you say she is in the right place with all the right expertise .Just think only a week ago she would never have imagined all this happening to her.

Yes Frank we are Darby and Joan now.James has gone. You should have seen the state of his car.One of the cats where he works seems to love walking all over it.It doesn't go on anyone else car!.I think the soil must be a bit clay/sand as the mess is dreadful.I took a pic just before he left. Will send it lol
Potatoes on ,Lamb cooked so it is just the veg to cook now.It smells lovely but I am not in the least hungry.Chris is buried himself in this puzzle and keeps moaning that the bits I put in one place ARE NOT for the top part of the puzzle ,but the bottom bit :-S :-S
Oh well I did try lol

He heard from a cousin yesterday whose Brother is doing the family tree. She wanted info on Chris 's Mum...As Ann knows we have hit a sticky patch as her date of birth .
Anyway it seems like our surname might well have been Rosenberg at some point !!!

Frank I am not surprised to hear you are too tired to go out tonight.I hope you have a better nights sleep .I hope I do too.I am having some very disturbing dreams with body parts that I am transporting !!!.and other gruesome things.I don't find them scary but they are so real...No doubt the kind of books I read have something to do with it lol

Dinner is ready now

Well I'm off to bed anytime now. WEST HAM were 1-0 up into added on time when Everton scored. Bo Ho. We have a replay at Upton Park in a week or so.

What sort of book are you reading Jane to give you dreams like that ???

William (Will) you are having a rough old time at the moment, sunshine, hope your daughter improves with rest, and the attention at Oxford. Hope Carmel's test goes O.K. tomorrow. I know they will come through it <3 <3

Well see you in the morning.

It has been a nice sunny day here but it's also been cold with it. Wshing nearly dried nd it smells wonderful as it was blowing in the cold breeze.

I am glad your daughter is more comfortable in the new hospital William. Sounds like she will get much better care there.

Frank was it a cranberry glass she had on the lamp that broke? I have a glass to an old oil lamp somewhere and the inner flue too. The lamp was broken.

I have just tried again to watch Broardchuirch which I recorded and had watched nearly half and was tired so went to bed thinking I woud watch it tonight. It only played the first minuet and said it had finished so I went on to on demand and that was playing up too we kept getting ads after just a short while so I still hav'nt seen it. I have gone onto Father Brown now.

Going to say night night now. Did any of you see the lovely moon tonight??

Fiona is this the first time since Christmas you have been out with your friends for coffee? Have a lovely natter.

Dull and wet heretoo today. Oh said he nearly woke me as the sun came up as it had a green stripe along the top of a cloud and a really red sunrise. That dos'nt bode well does it? Red sky in the morning a sailors warning.

Hope all had a better night last night and got some sleep. I even went to bed earliler and must have dropped off straight away.

THE TOP of the MORNING to you ALL/ Evening Kim,

Well I slept like a LORD last night (not that I know how they sleep) Head down before 11.00 pm Never felt Madam come to bed. Popped to the loo about 6.00 then back to sleep until 8.00. Ros bought me tea at 8.45.

Didn't do my fry up. Just a bacon sarnie and two more cups of tea. Ros is dusting around the ornaments and polishing everywhere in the lounge.

Didn't see the moon or sunrise Mel.

Weather dry and cold here, with a North Easterly wind. Nothing to go out for today. So will settle down with my book and put my leg up. (it's aching again).

We have decided to do a nice STEW for tonight. I will go and chop up the veg soon and get the stewing steak out of the freezer. I will do enough for two days. It goes down so well with a nice crusty piece of bread, and will save me cooking tomorrow

Hope you all have a nice day, and enjoy your chat Fiona..
