Frank Report 15 Mar 2015 10:24

Morning all, Evening Kim. "HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO YOU ALL"

Ros had a lovely card from Conrad and another from Jan which was to "MY NEARLY MUM" How sweet. She was on Skype this morning having a chat with her, and Conrad telephoned from Spain. To say the least madam is well pleased.

She has to be at Harvey's by Noon for the football. I now understand Lara and her boyfriend with her baby are going there also. So a real family affair.

I will get showered and shaved and walk down to the pup about 1.15 pm. K.O is 1.30 I can get something to eat while the match is on and be home again by 4.00. Then a quiet afternoon with the paper, book or T.V. I won't expect Ros Home before 7.00 or 8.00.

Hope you "GIRLS" have a nice day whatever you are doing. Enjoy your family !!!

Morning all and evening Kim,

Dull here today but dry.

Hope you all have a lovely Mother's Day and are spoilt rotten. <3

magpie Report 15 Mar 2015 12:03

That's kind of you Mel. Not sure that much spoiling will go on in this house!! 'L' has taken elder granddaughter to an important gymnastics competition, the other two are with their Daddy this weekend, but we shall see 'L' tomorrow, so no doubt we'll get all the gossip and anything else then ;-) 'M' and his partner have gone to visit her mother who is a widow and in her nineties!!!
We're having roast lamb today which should be lovely particularly after last weekend's fiasco!!
Horrid cold day, the wind's like a knife! so the weeds will have to get on with it!
We've more things to go into eBay, so I think sorting and seeing to that is today's job!

Afternoon all

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to everyone.

I got a text off Michelle today which was nice, she's had to work today so she's going to let me know when she's off again so we can chat online.

Sandra got me a Tiger puzzle I love Tigers and some chocolate to go with the flowers she got me the other day and OH is cooking the lunch so I'm just relaxing waiting for the F1 to start, I have to watch the highlights on the BBC but don't mind so long as I get to see it. I'm going to share my chocolate with Sandra and OH after lunch, they said no but it's only fair and I couldn't eat it all myself I'd feel guilty.

I've managed to find another child for one of my relatives who moved to Canada this morning and his wife and child. Unfortunately the grandchild was killed in a car crash. He was only 17 years old.

I'm off to enter them onto my tree now before lunch and the F1. Hope you enjoy your football Frank and everyone else has a nice day too. <3

Frank Report 15 Mar 2015 13:33

I decided to stay at home after all.

I have just done myself a "REAL FULL ENGLISH" Eggs, bacon, sausages, tomato's , mushrooms, baked beans all piled on two slices of toast. I'm quite blown out now.

It's so cold out in the wind. I think I am in the best place. Don't envy Ros standing out in this watching football. !!!

Will watch F 1 and listen to football with my head phones on. MULTI TASKING !!

Gosh it's quiet on here where is everyone?

I think you did the best thing staying in the warm Frank, it's really cold out today more like winter ,i thought it was going to rain this afternoon it went over so black.

Looking forward to the second part of Poldark later.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 15 Mar 2015 18:55

Me too Mandy. Oh has managed to cancel recording Mr Selfridge so I can record Poldark as I like to see them again and I shall just have to suffer the ads in the other program.

For those who have been watching Indian Summers, they are thinking of making another serise as this one has had a lot of viewers.

You all sound like you had nice presents and cards today.

I enjoyed the grand prix and was pleased Lewis won. He seems such a nice lad.

Did you enjoy your footie Frank?

Evening All
We have had a lovely day :-D.It took a bit longer to get to Hannah as there was a diversion but we were in plenty of time to walk to the place for lunch.I had the best Roast Beef I have ever had.It just melted in my mouth. All of enjoyed every single thing we had :-D
Then we went back to Hannahs for a coffee/tea and a sit and natter before setting of just after 4.Besides the flowers I had yesterday.James gave me a tin of 3 different hand creams and a heart shaped box of Champagne Truffles, and Hannah gave me an envelope with a booked Lunch at Langdon Court near where the 2 of us will be going for 3 nights in May :-D.So I have been a very lucky Mum today.
Hannah loved all her Birthday presents from us.I think everything fits so no need for me to search out receipts to change things.

It aint half cold Brrrrrrr !...Radiator stone cold again in the kitchen
:-SI just wish people would remember to shut the kitchen door into the lounge as any the heat from in here just seeps out.

Mandy I hope you don't have to hang around too long tomorrow morning.I didn't know that your son had Arthritis.Hopefully the scan will show something and that some treatment can be done for him.Does he have it just in his back?

Decorator here 8.30 in the morning..I must get the ironing board and iron back downstairs tonight otherwise it will be awkward with me running up and down the stairs with washing and getting in the way.At least we have a loo downstairs :-D
I have got Earl Grey Tea bags in again for him and a big slab of Sultana Cake :-DHe brings his sandwiches with him for lunch and no doubt will have his little radio .Thankfully he only plays it low so it won't be blaring out.

Frank I bet you are still full up after that mammoth full English .I bet it went down a treat :-D..Hope Ros was well wrapped up to watch the match today and didn't get frozen to the marrow.

Liz was the Lamb good? What was the fiasco with last weeks meal?

Gill it sounds like you will have had a lovely relaxing and chilled out day with OH cooking for you ..Any chocs left??? ;-)

Right I am going to fetch the ironing board down now before I forget.

magpie Report 15 Mar 2015 20:22

You sound as if you've had a fab day Jane! Ours has been very lazy and apart from cooking lunch we haven't really done much at all! It was last Sunday that Ian was ill Jane, and I had to put the lamb back into the freezer and settle for tuna and salad on my own!!
'M' rang this afternoon to wish me a happy mother's day, and for a chat! He's got one or two things on his mind and needed my opinion! so I did my best!!! He's turned from a difficult teenager/young man into such a nice chap, it's just so nice to have him back again. ' L' was always easier, but they're both lovely!!
We're watching channel 4. Timothy West and Prunella Scales going on a trip down the Oxford Canal. It's well worth watching.

Evening all

Well, I'm chuffed Lewis Hamilton won the race so that's made my day. Yes Jane I've still got some of my chocs left. OH and Sandra have eaten theirs. I shared them around. I had a lovely lunch made by OH and Sandra offered to do the dishes. It's been great being pampered all day, no one would let me do anything. I doubt it'll be the same tomorrow but I've enjoyed it while it lasted. Michelle rang me before too. She text me this morning because she had to go to work today so it was a lovely surprise when she rang me, we all chatted with her for a couple of hours so that ended my day just nicely. <3.

Sounds like you enjoyed your full English Frank. Multi tasking hey, how did you get on with that :-D :-D :-D.

Thanks for the photo's Liz they were lovely to see. I've replied to your email.

Good luck with the decorating tomorrow Jane. Good idea to get you ironing board down so you won't be in anyone's way now. How long will it take to do.

Hope all goes well for your sons hospital appointment tomorrow Mandy. I'm sure something can be done to help him with the pain.

Off to watch Mr Selfridge now. I record Poldark

Frank Report 15 Mar 2015 21:17

Evening all, What a nice quiet day I have had. Ros got home about 8.00 pm. She had a lovely day. She sat in the car to watch the football as it was so cold. They had a BEEF WELLINGTON for dinner. Harvey has a secret way of doing his Roast Potato's and wouldn't tell Ros. She said they were the best she has every tasted. THAT SAYS A LOT FOR MINE :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

Lewis gave her a beautiful card with lovely words that he had written together with a nice plant.

Glad everyone one had a good day.

I am tired, and just having my first beer of the day, with a nice ham and tomato roll.
Then I think it will be up the hill to "BEDFORDSHIRE" That's another saying I don't know where it came from !!

Good night all, see you in the morning.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 15 Mar 2015 22:19

Oh fixed the on demand box for me so I could record Poldark instead of Mr S. I don't know how he does it!! I fiddled with it for hours the other night but did'nt get anywhere. What annoys me is he dos'nt show ME how to do it and then gets cross if I ask HIM to do it. Well not really cross but you know what I mean.

Off now to watch my programs so see you all in the morning.

Night.

magpie

magpie Report 16 Mar 2015 09:20

Mel, you can always look up on line how to set up your On Demand box! I did this once when Ian was out and I wanted to watch a DVD and I couldn't get the sequence right. I just got onto Google and tapped in the relevant information and what I wanted to do and it worked a treat, after that I didn't have to rely on HIM anymore which as you say can be annoying!!!! ....Or you can always pick up missed progs on your computer on catch up. I do this with Indian Summers, and it works just fine.
Off to Hungerford in a minute, nasty cold day so it be nice to go out for the day!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 Mar 2015 10:16

Morning all and evening Kim,

Horrid day here too so dull with grey skies. Not much in the way of wind though. Oh has just put the bins out and checked the level of the oil in the tank.

I used to supply a shop in Hungerford with dolls house minitures when I made them. We visited once with mum and it was in a tea shop.

Annx

Annx Report 16 Mar 2015 10:43

Morning All,

Well, I've had to scuttle in here quickly! OH has gone to the tip and to do a few other errands and I was busy hoovering and cleaning the bathroom in my nightie when the window cleaners turned up!!! At least the blind is closed in here, not like everywhere else! We never know what day or time they will come any more. lol.

I hope your son gets some progress with his arthritis after the scan Mandy. It's not the sort of thing he wants with the work he does. When the builder came to quote for our chimney leak I asked him how Mark their plasterer was these days. He did an extension at my previous house when I was in my 20s and also here when we made the porch bigger. He did brilliant work, but apparently he has arthritis in his neck and shoulder now.

We went to Morr*sons for a lunchtime snack yesterday as everywhere else would be busy with Mother's Day meals. We were given free bunches of daffodils in bud at the till. Lots of people were just leaving them behind on the tables (shows how much they appreciate flowers they are given and on Mother's Day too!) I picked up a couple of bunches folk had left on their tables so now have 3 vases of bright daffodils to cheer the place up. :-)

We enjoyed the canal prog with Timothy West and his wife Prunella as well. His son is in Mr Selfridge isn't he? I watched the prog about murderers the other night . Dr Brian Moseley was the presenter and it was very interesting. Some have had horrific childhoods. It was quite chilling too to see experiments they did with young children that show how they copy the behaviour they see in the home. Also how what you are exposed to can change young brains.

OH back now and he's paid the window cleaners so I can finish doing the bathroom. They work 2-3 on a house at once so they do get done quickly which is good. Sun's out now which is nice. BBL

Morning all, evening Kim,#

We had a shower in the night, so everywhere damp. Sky looks drab with very little breeze.

Carolyn and Ros are shopping today instead of tomorrow as Carolyn has visitors coming, How inconvenient for THEM :-D :-D :-D

Enjoy your shopping day Liz.. What a clever girl you are, sorting things out on Google. I have never thought of that. I either contact Conrad or our old neighbour Jonathan.

St Patricks day tomorrow FIFTY SEVEN YEARS since I was called up for National Service. I was late being called up because of my dad being so ill. They didn't waste much time once dad had died. SIX WEEKS. !!! Oh what memories.

I'm all showered, just got get dressed. Might spend some time down the greenhouse this morning.

The sun is out !!!

Frank Report 16 Mar 2015 11:25

Just had an invite to Hastings next Wednesday till Saturday with John and Carolyn. Will be a nice few days break.

It's now as "Black as your Hat" outside now, so I won't venture down the garden !!!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 Mar 2015 13:15

Your sunshine did'nt last long then Frank. It has turned a bit milder here and brighter but the sun is not really out if you know what I mean.

Have to go and get chicken food and a few bits and bobs so I am leaving oh to get his own lunch as I have had toast with him earlier and I don't want anything yet.

Postie has just been and I hope it is not bills....................
