Evening all,

Just finished clearing up after the family tea , dishwashers on and i've also washed up the extra bits and pieces .
I had to smile ,little Chelsea sat in the kitchen doing her homework ,she turned to me and said " thank you Nanny for our lovely tea " i said darling you haven't had your tea yet ," i know she said but you always do nice teas " :-D then she was writing poems , i was mentioned in the poem .....she wrote my Nanny smells of Lemons !!! :-S :-D

Well it was cloudy here for the eclipse ,but the clouds parted for just a few seconds and i saw a small bit of it , then it quickly clouded over again ,about half an hour later it was lovely bright sunshine .
Thanks for your photo's Liz , you got some good shots of the eclipse and the lovely blue sky after .

I like the water features Frank, you got some bargains there , will you be going again before they close down ?

I feel really tired now ,i think it will be an early night for me tonight .

Jane it was a packet of brownie mix I thought I would try to see if it was ok and it was. I added nuts as I said before but could'nt find my square tin so I did it in a big round one. From Mo**isons and really quite cheap and quick to do.

Thanks for the pics Liz and Jane both arrived ok.

Sheep Sh*t pie tonight for us with tender stem brocc and green beans.

Ann yes I am making something with the blown eggs but not on the egg shells I am using them as a mould.

You can use what fish you like Jane, but I make it with salmon in a white sauce and two hard boiled eggs chopped into it. It's so easy to do and as we like fish, it's quite a favourite with us. I don't think Merlin minds one way or the other Jane!!! He takes most things in his stride, and it's good discipline for him for when he goes back into the trap again.
Barging about with John Sergeant in a few minutes! I wonder where he'll be tonight?

Jane Report 20 Mar 2015 20:40

No I don't think so Mandy.I just forwarded Liz and Maureens pics
So you smell of Lemons :-D.. i think that is a lovely smell ,nice and fresh.Good job Chelsea didn't say you smelled of something horrible lol

Mel you will have to explain please about using the eggs as moulds.I understand the blowing bit.
Dinner was pants :-S very tasteless .I did cooked chicken in a Lloy* Grossm** sauce.New Pots and veg.The potatoes and veg were fine but the sauce was so bland.Very disappointing :-(...Won't be having that again.

Sorry Liz I still wouldn't like the Fish Pie with Salmon..I do like Honey Roast Salmon Flakes though :-D.

Going back to Eggs....Hannah sent me a pic tonight of somewhere she has been today for a posh afternoon tea .The toilets look like individual Egg(Pods). She didn't say if she went to the loo..I must find out.I have never seen anything like it LOL :-S

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 20 Mar 2015 21:36

Just as well you had'nt been cooking with onions Mandy otherwise Chelsea would have said " My nanny smells of onions." Not quite the same outcome I think. It is surpriseing how sensitive the little noses are.

We have had a little rain here over night ,it's dull now and looks like we could get some more , don't think i will chance putting any washing out .

Just having a coffee as i wait for my floors to dry .

Anyone up to any thing nice this weekend ?

Frank

Frank Report 21 Mar 2015 11:50

Morning all you chatter box's, evening Kim.

My you have been a lot of busy bees.

The water features are for Harvey and Conrad, The big one for us. I do believe they are indoor ones so will need to find a place for it.

The Garden Centre is closed today and Sunday so they can get everything priced for "THE SALE ON MONDAY. No doubt Madam will want to go again, so I might drag along.

Jane, I think if you had less BOOZE you wouldn't knock into the wet paint :-D :-D :-D ;-) ;-) ;-) <3 <3 <3

Yes Mel, I am intrigued what will you do with the blown eggs. ???

Ann, You have to give it to your OH he is quick with his remarks ;-) ;-) ;-)

Mandy, I think it's Bl###y cold out this morning. I have got to get my seed potato's in and cut the lawns. If as you say we might get rain again, I need to get these jobs out of the way before going away on Wednesday.

Valerie phoned this morning saying that she does want a tree for the garden to remember SID. I said they have been sitting here a YEAR. So come and get the one you want, the other can go down the SPINNEY.

Those pods aught to have a running water sound, that will get people in and out quicker :-D :-D :-D

I cleared out the small shed also yesterday. THREE very LARGE black bins filled with plant pots, trays etc. Ros has dropped them off at the tip this morning, when she went shopping with Martine.

I had better get on before I sit down and don't do anything. !!!

Annx

Annx Report 21 Mar 2015 12:35

Afternoon All,

I rather like the pods........providing they have good ventilation fans inside them!! :-S

Frank, I think your bargains take some beating!! We have been putting our old plastic plant pots and trays in the recycling bin for a while now as well as the yoghurt pots. Our council doesn't specify what plastics anymore and we have to mix the plastics, glass and paper that had to be seperate once, all in one bin now. They can see them in the bin which they always open, so hopefully there's no problem. I think I might go back to our garden centre sale as we could do with more bark chips. Ours finishes tomorrow. It will be a shame to see it go after 55 years. Valerie's lucky she wasn't too late for the tree after all this time isn't she.

What lovely, thoughtful grandchildren you have Mandy. Smelling of lemons is lovely!!

Are you using the egg shells as moulds for easter eggs mel?

I called in the dog's home shop on our way back from the village this morning and found some huge OTT earings covered in black, shiny ,metallic leaves for only 50p. I shall dismantle them as the leaves will be ideal for a necklace and bracelet. OH found a pristine book in hardback that only came out last year, Terry Venables,Born to Manage' with a £20 price on the cover for only £1.

Off for a gadabout somewhere now while OH is off to footie. :-D I'll take my camera as there are quite a few trees in blossom now.

Jane Report 21 Mar 2015 13:01

Gosh I hadn't thought about ventilation in those loo pods Ann :-S..They must have surely as it is a very posh place..It is called Sketch (restaurant) Mayfair..I had a look on line this morning and the place sounds very interesting with art works etc.it gives a history about the building to.

Frank I hadn't touched a drop !!!!!! So can't blame that :-D :-D
The blinds and lampshades are back up now.Just need the massive mirror and pictures to go on the walls. So we are getting there.

What a Grey Day .Cold wind blowing too.It is whistling like mad through the little open window in the ensuite. The side gate is rattling too.I nipped out to get bird food earlier and there are yet more road works up at the top of the main road by Wicksteed Park :-S.It took me ages to get onto London Rd

Chris is going through a zillion old photos. He is trying to find the very few he has of when he was younger. It is very sad as I think his Dad must have thrown most family photos away after Chris's Mum died and the sister ran away. There are no photos of Chris at all until after the age of 8 and then only about 4 or 5 :-(....He is wanting them for his Memoirs .Haven't even a photo of his Mum or Sister.

I must take the steaks out of the freezer for tonight.I forgot all about them.

Have sent a pic I found of us with our SPECS on for the 1999 eclipse :-D

Jane

Jane Report 21 Mar 2015 13:23

Chris has just dumped a big bag of photos on the table for me.....I am in stitches already at what I am finding.I know how my afternoon will be spent now LOL.They smell all musty too so I will no doubt be doing a bit of sneezing :-S

Gill you mentioned wall insulation I think it is free, isn't it one of those government schemes to save energy for loft insulation as well.

I do that a lot Frank, try and think of somebody's name, it drives me crazy, the latest for me was the actress in Last Tango, I could see her face and knew she'd been in Corrie years ago but her name just wouldn't come I know now it's Ann Reid.

I had a lovely lunch yesterday, absolutely pigged out, after a very fattening starter went on to stuffed peppers with chips, which I never usually eat and then ordered the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream and cream, the waitress did warn me it was a very large piece of cake, I just said good, she was amazed that I actually ate it all, it was all washed down with 2 large glasses of wine. Can't do that too often :-0

Thanks Jane for sending the photos to Gill I was going to do it but don't have to now.

Oooh yes, I rather fancied Oliver Reed too Ann, always loved a bad boy.

You and Gordon are so funny, you make a great double act.

Ventured out to the boot sale this morning, first one of the season, it was freezing but I'm glad I went, I got some secauters, I'm always losing mine, the last ones I found in the compost bin, must have dropped them down into the bag with the cuttings last year, needless to say they were no good, two pairs for £6. Bought three bags of dhalia tubers for £2 got a pack of paint brushes (DIY) for a pound, thought I will just use them and throw them away when I've finished and a few other bits and pieces.

I didn't receive any photos :-(
