Morning all and evening Kim,
Bright and sunny here for a change although the skies not that blue but mostly grey and white clouds.
Yes Kitty's hubby in Mr S for one of Prunella's sons I think she has another Jo who lives in France with 3 children too. We watched the boat trips last year and she was looking a bit dazed in some of those too. The son who lives in France joined them at one p[oint in the last programs.

Morning all. evening Kim,
Morning here is fine drizzle in the air. but the sun is trying to break through.
Ros bought a new Bird box, so I went and put it up this morning . WITHIN FIVE MINUTES I had a blue tit having a nose around. I need to fix it a bit tighter to the tree. Would hate for them to take up residence and the whole lot comes tumbling down !!! :-( :-(
I didn't know about Prunella Scales . and didn't see the programme. I wish her all the best, what a fine actress she has been.
Glad you are all up and running now Jane. Lets hope it lasts longer than the other one.
We (TONY AND I) went to the pub last night. The match was rubbish, and how Liverpool won, I will never know :-D :-D
Will Liz, You had plenty of years to train IAN. I think if you haven't managed by now, I would give up, and just get on with it <3 <3 <3 <3 You know you girls love to complain us PERFECT MEN :-D :-D :-D I have just put my TIN HAT on ;-) ;-) ;-)
Any news on the sale front gill ?? and has the car gone through the MOT.
It did seem funny taxing the car on line, and no tax disc being sent. I have taken the T D holder from the screen, it seems bear after all these years of being there.
There's alovely smell of polish coming from the lounge end, Ros is having a hoover and polishing session.
No plans for today, HAPPY PADDIES DAY TO ANY IRISH LOOKING IN.

I spoke to soon !!! I was just about to sit and have a read when out of the blue Ros decided she was going to PRESSURE WASH THE PATIO. Now .being the gentleman I am, I put together the new pressure washer, and went out to do it. I went to my WELLINGTON BAG, and would you believe there were TWO RIGHT footed boots in there. I searched the garage (it's such a mess) and couldn't find any others, so I put on an old pair of trainers, jogging bottoms and T shirt. The dirt that was sprayed up from between the slabs, covered me from head to foot. THREE HOURS LATER it was done, but not as I would like it.
MEL, Some time ago you mentioned a patio cleaner, can you remember the name of it ??? I will get some and treat the patio then go over it again.
I am now all showered AGAIN washed my hair and in my DRESSING GOWN.. I'm not going anywhere, so didn't bother to get dressed. Hope we don't have visitors.
See you later.

Frank it is called Wet and Forget and you paint it on after diluting it and leave it to dry and you don't have to wash it again for ages. The pavers Oh did are just as clean now after the winter as they were before. Jane and Chris have bought some. I think you can get it online. It is great stuff.
Oh is going to do the whole patio as soon as we get a really dry day so I am tidying it up ready.
I have caught the vole who ate the tops out of my bunny rabbit plants. They were doing so well, all nice and bushy on their tops and when I went out the next day they had NO tops.

Afternoon All Our Wet and Forget is here.Don't know when we will use it.Soon I hope :-D The decorator has just gone. It's smelling a bit painty now.In fact the house is ponging as I have done that Rice and Lentil dish with the spicy sauce again. My face is looking a bit like a Lobster wit hall the smells of spices.
I went to see Johnny's Mum this morning.it was the first time I have seen her since Johnny died.OMG the poor lady. She is a broken woman and so sad.Needless to say we had lots of tears between us and a load of tissues used :-( :-(.It is just heartbreaking. One thing that helps her through the days now is her little dog that she recently got.She is called Jess :-D and is a 5 year old Cavalier Spaniel(I think Cavalier). She is an absolute sweety and just loves fuss and attention.Especially tummy rubs. She said that she now has a purpose to get up and dressed each day :-DShe mentioned something about going away for a couple of days with her daughter sometime if she could find someone to look after Jess.I didn't say anything ,but have TOLD Chris that we should offer to have her :-D :-D.I will tell James to let Denise know :-D :-D
Chris has spent the day in the Summerhouse writing his Memoirs. He has done 5 thousand words today !!!!,and only up to the age of 8.The years up until then were horrendous for Chris so I am interested to see what he has written.I hope he doesn't have nightmares now.Apparently I am allowed to be the Editor when it is done :-D
I think it is looking a bit misty out there(it could be my specs though)They might be steamed up :-S It will have to be a shower and hair wash for me tonight as there won't be time in the morning before Russell(decorator) arrives. He was here at 8.15 this morning :-S

I have worn myself out today cleaning out the chickens cleaning things to go in the shed, two loads of washing all nearly dry. The first lot ready for ironing but I hav'nt done it. Bit of clearing out of rubbish in the shed and a bit of gardening. I caught the vole and disposed of that. Fed the wild birds and the visiting pheasents and some other things I can't remember at the mo.
I should sleep well tonight.............I hope.
Jane has the decorator much more to do now?? Sounds like he was getting on well again today. Were you trying to mask the smell of the paint with your dish for tonight? :-D

Evening All,
That's it!! It's Sam West who plays Kitty's husband in Mr S! I still hadn't remembered and forgot to ask OH so I'm glad you all said.
Well it was quite mild and sunny when we went for a walk after lunch but the temperature soon dropped when the sun went in! We went round the Hall grounds where the ice house is but it was a bit depressing to see today. Every scrap of undergrowth cleared, trees chopped down and hedges decimated and layered. All around the big pond is bare soil apart from a few of the big trees, so all the nesting sites are gone. :-S Why do they need to be so drastic I wonder?
They are looking to expand the retail park down the road near the motorway junction by another 27 stores!! They are using the land that the brewery is on as they are moving to land they have close by. How it will work when we already have solid traffic jams at peak times for the mile to and from it I don't know?!
Russell likes an early start then Jane. I always think the earlier they start, the earlier it will get done, so that's one consolation. It sounds like poor Johnny's mum is having a tough time and who wouldn't after something like that happening. The little dog must be some comfort to her though and be a cheerful little influence to be around when you are sad. Offering to have Jess for her is the least you can do so she can go away with her daughter isn't it . I was so angry today reading about those people standing filming that poor man who jumped off a car park roof . They were even taunting him most cruelly and some had children with them. There was no shame in what they were doing and no caring or compassion! Sometimes it seems as if civilisation is going backwards. :-S
I think we all suffer when we start getting more active again in the spring. My back and knees have been sore today after the cleaning and hoovering yesterday and OH has been sore after the stuff he lifted and lugged to the tip!
That little bird soon spotted the new box Frank! Let's hope it's a good sign. :-)

I have caught another mouse in my trap thats two today!! It seems they work ok.
It is nice that Johnny's mum has a little friend to look after now. I know when my dad died mum said she had no purpose. The little dog will give her a purpose and she seems to be realizing that already. It is something else to think about and work for. I hope it will make her feel better although nothing can replace poor Johnny.
We just watched a program on a family living in the years from 1940's to 1960's. It was quite interesting but not how I remember it really. Did any of you see it?

Battle of the smells here tonight Mel :-D..I think dinner won.It is pretty strong even now :-S
Frank you need to take the painkillers for a while and not just the one off, especially if you have anti inflammatory pills. They need to be regular to get any inflammation down .
Mel. Chris watched that programme and though it was good.I missed it as I was still faffing about in the kitchen :-S Yes I agree and think the little dog that Johnny's Mum has is her reason for living now .She has something to care for.The things that Johnny's Mum was telling me about the last year with Johnny was just unimaginable .I don't know how she managed to stay so strong. As she told me all she wanted was to keep Johnny safe .Sadly she was unable to do that. :-( :-(
Just had my shower and hair wash :-D.So I no longer smell of cooking :-D I smell as sweet as a Rose :-D

Evening all
What a busy day today. We had another viewing, then I decided to change the bedding. Great news we now have an MOT and it only cost us £30 to get the two small jobs done. I went to the library with Sandra as her books were due back today, came home and had a lovely soak in the bath. Then did a bit more washing.
I've been in contact with a fourth cousin 1 time removed, or just cousin for short lol and we have been passing on information to each other for the past hour, for our trees. She is going to email me some photo's which I can add to my tree so that's good. I've emailed her a photo I had too. It's the only one I had for this side of my family so it'll be nice to have some more.
I've been up since 7.30 this morning as the car had to be at the garage for 9am so I'm tired now. I'm off to bed. I'll catch up with all the posts tomorrow.

Morning Everyone. Evening Kim.
Woke up to a sunny morning but the clouds have come over now :-( :-(
My Frank has to take all his holidays from work this month, he had his normal day off yesterday and has taken today & tomorrow off as holidays, he is having a great time, cycling in the morning, and tidying gardening in the afternoon, when the weather will allow,
We are going to visit Mackinnon Mills this afternoon (part of Edinburgh Woollen Mill) Best place for Tropical & Goldfish, seems that a lot of the fish in the tropical tank have died so we need to replace them.
Coffee time, 1 coffee now and then I can have a hot chocolate when I meet up with friends this morning. :-D :-D

Morning all, Evening Kim.
What a beautiful morning, sun shining and quite warm.
We are both feeling shattered this morning, and blow me Ros has offered to help Carolyn get rid off loads of old computers and furniture to the tip. I told her in no uncertain terms, she MUST NOT do any lifting. Just go along for the ride. The Lads at the tip will unload the car.
That was very kind of you Jane, to visit Johnn'y MUM I bet she appreciates visits like that, and it shows her she is being thought of. It might be nice if you could have her little dog for a week or so. You could spoil it, couldn't you ???
Ann It makes the mind boggle, that these contractors would clear the area like that. Where do they think the wildlife is going to go. As for move development at the retail park. HOW BIG do they need these places. No wonder Town centres are closing down :-( :-( Pied piper of Holsworthy is at it again I see. GO GET 'EM MEL. How's the Pheasants ??
I'm doing a Steak and Kidney Pie tonight, with mash cabbage peas and carrots. Followed by a Bread and butter pudding. I am making one for John and Carolyn at the same time
Not sure what I will do with my day. I need to take down a wall the divided the patio from the lawn, make space for the water feature, and wash down all the planters that got covered in dirt yesterday while doing the pressure washing. DO ONE JOB, MAKE ANOTHER Mums old saying <3 <3 <3 <3

Morning all and evenign Kim,
Sunny and bright here too and I hav'nt any washing to do!!!!!!! :-|
Pheasents are ok Frank, they come and ask for their corn now and oh saw 11 females the other morning plus Phil our resident cock bird. He seems to have a larger harem. We have never had so many female ones in the garden before but they are birds of habit like the chickens and they know when it is feed time in the mornings and corn time in the afternoon. The one we have had the longest comes when I call her. We call her Little Lady.
I want to see a pic of this water feature to know what it is like please?
Fiona it will be nice to have your Frank around and be able to go places together so he can finish up his holiday days. Are these last years days?
O Gill yet another viewing and how do you think it went? Have you heard anything from the others at the weekend?
I did have a good sleep last night and think I feel more refreshed this morning but the sunshine does make you feel good anyway. Think I will have a muddle around in the shed this morning or whats left of it.

Morning All,
Beautiful and sunny here today. :-)
Frank they have a board up at the wildlife park showing the creatures you can see......not anymore I think after all the chopping! I agree with you that they should be preserving as much for wild animals as they can, there's no need to take all their homes away. :-S As for the retail park they don't like that it is taking city custom now. The city is so anti car with closed road lanes, costly parking and the shops sprawled over too big an area to walk round it serves them right really that people aren't shopping there so much. They've even had to let out part of the park and ride down the road to local companies for parking and it has still lost money ever since they opened it a few years ago. I hope Ros isn't tempted to help lift things........OH has only just recovered from his trip to the tip! The chaps there are only too willing to help as you say. You be careful too knocking walls down.......we don't want you going A over T!!! :-)
I'm off to the shops in a mo, then getting lunch here today. Some fresh Haddock with a sauce with spinach, some sweet potato mash, broc, carrots and peas, plus jacket potato for OH. Then I'm off to Loughborough to a bead shop there and a look around the shops.
Mel, where are you setting your mouse traps? Are they the plastic ones you just press a tab down to set? We haven't caught any in the garage yet, they must rush past them and head straight up the walls to the loft. We seem catch them once they get up there.
I bet your OH is enjoying this break Fiona and being able to get out on his bike, I hope you get some nice fish for your tank.
It is great when you get photos for your tree Gill and interesting looking for any family likeness. I'm glad it turned out well with the car and that you've had another viewing.

Ann the traps are very good. They are grey in colour and catch live so I am afraid I drown them............... :-( One was a vole yesterday and the second one was an ordinary mouse. I am setting them on the patio outside the back door. They say to smear peanut butter in the bottom of them but I put a little bird seed or corn in. They have to tip towards the back when the mouse goes in and that closes the entrance. It is very simple really. When I have caught one I pop it in a bucket of water and have to walk away until later when I empty it. This way I know there is no poison around for the birds and chickens.
