Morning my lovelies and afternoon Kim.
I am getting fed up with 3.30 am. Awake again this morning, didn't need to get out for a P so just laid there, I must have dropped off again, when I next looked at the clock it was 6.50 am.
How's that toe this morning Jane ?? I bet it's throbbing a bit and swollen.
I am very achy this morning, but I must push on, there is lots to do. Ros is already out there, so I mustn't be too long. ;-) ;-) ;-)or I will get a ear full lol
Shopping on a lovely day like today, can't be very nice Mel, Get it done and get home and enjoy a few hours in the garden.
Ann, Yes everywhere was very wet yesterday after the dew. Good job you had other shoes or you would have squelched in the car !!!!
I have to clear a front garden bed this morning as it's over grown, and I have some Dahlias I want to put in there. If I get in first, she won't be able to collar the bed for something else :-D :-D :-D

Morning All,
Nice and sunny here. Knees and hips are a bit twingey from bending in the garden, but then they usually are when I start in the spring.
Glad you liked the painting. I can see where it is just slightly wrong as you always can with things you do yourself, as I'm sure Chris would agree. I was so pleased to even get a likeness though and OH is so chuffed you wouldn't believe it. I've always thought I couldn't draw or paint people Jane as I've always got the proportions all wrong. I had to keep redrawing bits to do this! The last portrait I did would have been at junior school when you had to paint your friend. lol. :-) Be careful with your toe.
OH has been on the phone a lot this morning to sort out getting his dad assessed for some help dressing etc. He gave his mum a good talking to about not getting him back to the docs last week as she'd booked an appointment weeks ahead again to get their usual doctor. He's also told her again that it isn't reasonable at the age of 94 to expect him to be fetching the paper every day and going shopping all the time, but I don't know whether it will make any difference. He's getting more and more unsteady and it may be just his age, but the doc wanted to see him if he was no better so may still be eliminating possible causes.
Better get showered next and see whether we are going out anywhere......maybe some gardens for a nice stroll.
Don't overdo it in the garden Frank! BBL

Ann I hope your OH got somewhere with sorting out some help for the In Laws.He is going to have to be very tough with him Mum methinks .My Sisters inlaws were very similar to yours :-S
YUk wet shoes..They are so uncomfortable and can rub even through socks. It is a horrible feeling to feel the wet seeping through. Chris was VERY impressed with your painting Ann :-D
I got new plasters .Some with Savlon incorporated so hopefully it will help heal my poor toe.I would like to leave it open to the fresh air really but am scared of bashing it at the moment. All bedding washed and back on the beds today. What a job that is.
Dinner tonight is at last my favourite deboned chicken :-D :-D.I think I said the other week that Chris forgot to get one.But he remembered on Monday :-D Good man :-D My fridge seems like it is at the right temp now after turning the thing down to 2.Fingers crossed it now stays right.
Got the shopping done Mel?Was it a Bideford day today or Holsworthy?
I am going to do Hassleback Potatoes to go with the Chicken so better go and cut some slits in them and give them a good brushing of oil and herbs.

Late afternoon all,
Well we have done well today, three hanging baskets done, and lots of plants put in. I cleared the bed in the front and put in my Dahlias, and a few other bits.
My neighbour has a "RED ROBIN" right in front of her/our front window. The leaves are everywhere, she also has this massive "Elephant ear plant" in front of it. She has no idea how big this things grow. I managed to chop a big root off the E E plant, and that's in the bin.
I have cleared all my Broad bean and runners in the pots outside to harden off. I have covered them in Fleece to be on the safe side.
We had an old water feature, which I have dismantled and just left the bowl on the stand. I will drill a few drain holes in that tomorrow, then Ros can plant that up. It will sit on a slab, in the back lawn. Easy to move (I HOPE) when I mow the lawn.
That toe must be sore Jane, I can almost feel the skin being peeled back under that door. m Ann, Not having seen Gordon before, I can't comment on his likeness. But as a painting I think it's great. YOU CLEVER GIRL <3 <3 <3
Still no contact from Gill. Has anyone got a contact number, to see if everything is alright at home ???
Ros is cooking dinner for me, as I have been so busy today, and Football is on down the pub, so a good evening all round.

Evening all,
We haven't had much sun today ,been cloudy and a bit chilly too .
Sister came this morning ,first time i have seen her since she lost her dog ,she had a few tears when Toby walked up to her so i left her to have a little cry and a cuddle with Toby and went and made a coffee , i know just how she feels :-(
Ann what a brilliant painting :-D you can certainly see it's OH ,i can imagine he would be pleased with it , you really should paint and sell ,they would go like hot cakes you really are good , what size is this one ?
Oh Jane your poor toe ,made me cringe and feel all funny when i read what you had done :-0 at least with the slightly warmer weather you can wear sandals so nothing rubs it.
Did you ever tell us what the blown eggs were for Mel ?
Enjoy your pint or two :-D Frank ,you'll be ready for them with all the gardening you've been doing ,thirsty work gardening :-D

Frank we have seen pics of Ann's OH when she has sent photos..It is a very good likeness :-D :-D Yes my toe is Bl**d* sore .But tomorrow hopefully it will be less so.What a silly Billy I was to do that. This weather has given everyone a chance to get things done in the garden.Just hope there are no big frosts.I keep forgetting we are still early April.Especially with the Parasol up in the garden and sitting out .
I stated this post an hour ago but had a phone call from an old friend down in Cornwall. She was the cook at the big house where I was a Nanny :-D Now I need to dish up dinner.

OH put Social Services in the picture today and they are going to go out and assess FIL. Luckily they already had him on their system from visiting MIL. OH plans to be there when they come as I suspect his dad will start saying he manages fine etc! Those plasters you got sound good, but you must be wary of catching your toe or stumbling at the moment Jane. :-)
Your poor sister Mandy, there's nothing you can say to make her feel better but I bet a private cuddle and a few tears with your Toby helped a bit. This painting is 10 inches by 8 inches. I've no confidence when I paint Mandy and still expect to spoil everything I start!!! Maybe more practice will help. I might frame this when it's finished though and enter it in the village show in the next village in September if there's a portrait class. There were entries from a local art club the last 2 years and it would be good to hang about and listen to what some of them say. Yes, I keep forgetting to ask Mel about the eggs too!
We went to the University Botanic Gardens near the city this afternoon. We hadn't been for many years and had a nice stroll round in the sun. We saw a pretty awful sculpture in the gardens.......daren't tell you what OH said when he saw it, but will send a pic so you can see what you think!! lol. ;-) There were lots of frogs and toads around the big Koi pond doing what frogs and toads do this time of the year. A little girl saw them and piped up 'oh look mummy that one is nice, giving one a piggy back to the water!! ' lol. Her mother let it pass, obviously not ready to give a public lesson in the 'birds and bees'! :-)
That's great news you now have a lovely puppy Liz. :-) Please send a pic of her while she is still a puppy.......they are so cute.
You have been busy again Frank so it will be nice to have an evening off! :-)

HI TO SHIRL~~~~~~~~~~~ SORRY YOU HAVE MORE SNOW BUT THE BETTER WEATHER CAN'T BE FAR AWAY FOR YOU NOW.
Took my tyre to my little man up the road who looks after both our cars. He did the punture for me and I collected it on the way to Bideford shopping. Got home about 6pm and did dinner so I hav'nt had much time today. Booked them both in for MOT's, oh's next Wednesday and mine on the 22nd. He has also order the two things that hold the boot lid up as I can't go on with this lump of wood in the boot to hold the lid up!!
I still hav'nt done the things with the blown eggs yet but I will and will show you all later.
Signing out now as I am very tired tonight so see you all in the morning and hope Jane's toe is better tomorrow and Frank dos'nt ache too much and has a good nights sleep tonight.
O must say that new baby is delightfull and what a sweet name, Cassie.......

Morning Everyone, Evening Kim
Suns out here, we have been lucky with the weather so far this week, thank goodness I got my washing done at the beginning of the week, Weather lady on the news said it was going to rain over the weekend,
Question to ask, to all the folks on here that have been watching MR SELFRIDGE, has the series finished, went to look on my recordings for last Sunday episode as I watch Poldark on Sunday night and usually watch MR S on Monday morning but could not see 5th April program , mind you the last one was 29th March. :-S :-S
My Franks birthday today, he's catching me up :-D :-D ;-) 58 today, didn't know what to get him so while we were out on Tuesday he saw some greenhouse staging , so he got 2 boxes and I said thats your birthday presents :-D :-D, and yesterday I tried to replace his old key case, but no where sells them , I feel a visit to Ama*on coming on.
Better go and get some breakfast, think Katherine & Victoria will be down later on today to wish their dad a happy birthday.

Morning all, evening Kim.
HI TO SHIRL, NO SNOW HERE JUST WALL TO WALL SUNSHINE. THE SUN SHINES ON THE RIGHTOUS lol
That blooming time clock in my brain went off again this morning 3.37 am until 4.24 am. I was awake proper at 6.30 and up by 7.30.
Little overcast this morning, but I think it will clear.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to my namesake. Are those key wallets the ones with a row of hooks for the keys and two flaps of leather that fold over. ??? I had one for years, they save your pockets, and you know where your keys are.
What great news from Liz, the photo's look great. I bet he will be spoilt by the G' Children. :-D :-D :-D
Not the best of matches last night but L'pool won. So gill will be pleased. They had run out of my beer, so I had to have something else. :-( :-( :-(
Must get Ros to buy some LARD so I can mix seed with it and fill the coconuts, they have completely emptied them, and the fat balls are almost gone. Greedy Starlings, the blackbirds sit under the feeding station picking up the bits ;-) ;-)
Lets hope S S have some answers for you O.H. Ann, The old chap has to have some help at 94. why do they need a paper every day, there's only rubbish in most of it. Why not watch the news channel and save that walk everyday.
Time for more tea and a bacon and egg, with sliced cold new pots fries, tomato and beans. I'M FEELING HUNGRY. !!!

Morning Frank, thanks for birthday wishes to my Frank, yes you're right about the Key case, they are so handy I have a brown leather one, with 2 apartments and a pocket in the front. keep my keys in the big part and have the keys to daughter's houses in the small pocket at the front, OH has a black one and the hooks don't take long to break and the linings gone from inside. he will just have to take care where he is putting his key's incase a hook breaks and he looses a key.

Morning all and evening Kim,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRANK Hope Fiona spoils you today.
Lovely day here yet again too not a cloud in the sky............
I have some seeds to sow today. Dwarf Beans in pots. They did well in pots last year and I can keep them on the decking away from all these HUGE rabbits we seem to be collecting.
I do hope Gill's mum is ok or anyone else in the family. It's not like her not to have a good natter with us unless something is up.
How's the toe this morning Jane. A little easier I hope.
Forgot to ask Mandy how she was yesterday after her tummy upset. Has it passednow Mandy? How's the rest of the family?

Morning/Evening All
Happy Birthday to your Frank Fiona and Happy Birthday to my Sister too :-D :-D
I wonder if the sun will break through today. It is very hazy.I actually had a fairly good night last night and was struggling to open my eyes by 8.30 when Chris brought me a cuppa.By the time I got round to drinking it ,it was just luke warm.
I have taken off the big heavy feather and down duvet but it is so heavy I can't heave it up onto the washing line for a good airing and shaking to try and get the feathers all back in the right places.Chris will have to give me a hand when he gets back from the Bank. My toe is weeping a bit still this morning so it is flip flop sandals .I won't be going anywhere today. Frank you will have to have a catnap later. It catches up with you doesn't it when you keep having disturbed nights :-S
I wonder if little Cassie has slept through the night .Liz and Ian will be over the moon with her :-D She is soon cute and such a lovely colour.
Coffee time :-D
