Morning all and evening Kim,

Liz I did'nt know you had a water garden nursery, my first hubby and I had a pet shop and pond centre.

Oh's kio are really quite big now. When he bought them they were about 7 or 8 inc hes long but now they are big enough to eat with chip as our friend said the other day. It's hard to get a pic of them when the sun shines on the water but I must try again. My goldfish were spawning the other day and through into the night. they just don't leave the girls alone. Oh said I should get rid of some of the males.

Another lovely day here today and I should really go shopping. We'll see.......

I am starving this morning so I'm going to get something to eat as I did'nt have much curry last night.

Morning all, evening Kim,

Cooler morning here, we have doors and windows open, and I can feel the breeze up my shorts legs :-D :-D :-D CHILLY.!!!

Football was a good match last night. The beer seemed to have a funny taste, so I had to try another couple to check it was alright, I didn't want anyone being ill from it ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Ros is in the garden already, I will go out later, but will be careful as my back is aching before I start any bending.

Good luck with the viewing today Gill, will be thinking of you <3 <3

How co you get down to dry your feet Jane, I have to cock my leg up on the stool or the toilet, and it's still a job ;-) ;-)

All you gardeners take care not to overdo it today, we don't want any reports of bad backs tonight.

Better go and show my face. and see if I can help. I might get some beans in today.

Will, I have plenty of fleece around, so if there is a threat of FROST, I will cover everything up.

Yes Mel, OH was one of the very few blokes to do his National Service in the Navy. After two years he had done pretty well, and loved it, so instead of leaving he signed on for another nine years!!! Then of course four years later, he wanted to get married, and spending a lot of your life on board an aircraft carrier suddenly seemed very unattractive!! so after a couple of years, luckily for us on a shore station, he applied to buy himself out, and left three years earlier than he should. After that OH worked for my S.Father for about 18months before going off to College for a three year course in horticulture, the rest is history!!!

All busy again I see.

Have just tried to take a pic of the robins nest but the sun is in the wrong postion and not sure if they have come out. I also frightened her off the nest so I came away.

I have had a lkook on the camera and there is one pic of the eggs, well some of them. I ahve so many pics on there of the eclipse and the bantams in the trug and the moon and deer I have had to put it on charge.

Have been in the garden and dabbed some weeds with my jel.

Annx Report 16 Apr 2015 13:51

Afternoon All,

Yes it's dull and chillier here today, but at least the washing dried this morning. We are both achey today, so instead of going in the garden yet we did some inside jobs. I have the spring cleaning mood now. I cleared all the out of date things in the en suite cabinet this morning so was able to put some things away that there was no room for before. Now I'm clearing some old magazines and books I no longer want. They can go to the charity shop. I'm sorting the button box and ribbon bag later........there's a limit to how many small black buttons you can use, even for jewellery making!!

I would have loved to own a pet shop or a water garden nursery! Both would be hard work and I expect I would have got attached to some of the animals, but I would have enjoyed it. It sounds like your pond will soon be full of baby goldfish Mel!! It does sound like you don't need all those males.....the girls must be exhausted!!

You seem to have got things just right with Cassie Liz and that is great that she has taken so easily to her new bedroom now. I think being firm and consistent is the way, after all their mum's get firm with them if they push the boundaries.

The film was ok but I didn't think it was one of the best films I've seen Jane. It seemed a bit slow to me and OH thought it a bit contrived! Helen Mirren is always good though.

Hope your viewing went well Gill and how great for Sandra now there's another tame Squirrel visiting you!!

OH has gone for a lie down but I'm sure he's asleep!!

Frank

Frank Report 16 Apr 2015 13:52

Well I have been sent in to REST. I have transplanted all the runners and put the broad beans in grow bags (hope they will be O.K.) I haven't anywhere else to put them.
While trying to put the fleece up I fell A over H and landed in a heap. I managed to pull myself up the fence, and got to a chair. Madam heard the commotion and came to see what I had done. With that I got a "SMACKED LEG" and sent in doors.

Ros had to go round Carolyn's. this morning. The duck has returned and needs feeding every day. so R is going round to do it while they are away. Up until now J & C had a massive pond where the ducks would swim and bring their babies. They hatched somewhere in their garden but don't know where. That was last year. Now the pond is empty and being filled in. I hope they don't bring the babies this year, as they will be without their swimming pool !!!

How did the viewing go Gill ??

I suppose we will have a TIPSY JANE back later. You know what she's like with her lunch parties .

Hope the Robin settles down again Mel. I am sure she will, if it's the one who fed from your hand there should be no trouble.

When we lived at Gayton we had a robin and a Blackbird nesting on the same shelf, in the SHED one at one end and one the other. I would go in and out, and they would just look, enough to say WHAT DO YOU WANT. but never left the nest.

Time for a stretch out on the sofa, and get a drink.

Annx Report 16 Apr 2015 16:20

Oh Frank, I hope you didn't wrench yourself too much when you fell. A rest now sounds like a good idea as you have done so much out in the garden this week. I can just imagine the 2 birds on their nests in your shed!! lol. Yes, if Jane is squiffy, then Chris will be needing a lie down!! Fitz certainly enjoys a glass or two!! :-)

I have planted up one of my pots with a stripey grass, blue and white pansies and some silver foliage. I also got my new secateurs whirring into action and trimmed back 3 of the shrubs, filling 3 plastic sacks. OH was picking the bits up, weeding and digging up the dead shrub we think the cat killed. A little wren was on the blackthorn tree in the field and there were 3 buzzards circling and calling above the field. My back had had enough then so I have come inside and been sorting some things out in the uti. We want to get the rest of the pruning finished in the next few days as OH should get his new car next week and he won't want messy bags in it straightaway. :-) He can't wait now as his old car is limping along and had a warning light on the dash flash on the other day. :-S I've said we could just use mine till his new one arrives, but if his doesn't go out every day now , it's slow starting as if the battery has had it too!! :-S

Frank

Frank Report 16 Apr 2015 16:46

It sounds the perfect time for OHs car to go Ann, It sounds like he's had the best out of it.

I did go out the back for a little while, watered all the beans, greenhouse etc.

Ros has just been to Valerie's to drop of the tree I bought in memory of SID. If she hadn't taken it, I think it would have been here for ever and a day.

The new neighbour at the bottom of the garden is putting a new roof on his shed. He called over to Ros and said "I bet you will be glad when I am finished all this banging" she laughed and said I will get my own back some time lol

How's the head JANE ????

Evening all,

Another nice sunny day but not so quite warm but we still sat out and had our coffee this morning .

It was the big parade in town today for the Light Dragoons ,they are now on the move from Swanton Morley, i think they are back to Yorkshire some where ,lots of people lining the streets to give them a good send off and a fly pass from RAF Marham ,which passed over as we had our coffee .

Table and chairs were here just before nine this morning so they are now in place and son has taken the old table home ,yes Ann this table extends longer than the other table we had ,it should seat ten ,so it will easily seat all the family when they come .
Sounds as if OH's car is now on its way out now , hope it lasts out until he gets his new one next week.

I think it's very good of you Frank to keep dragging yourself off to the pub to check the beer hasn't gone off :-D :-D some one has to do it !! :-D :-D
Gardens looking good .

Any news on the viewing Gill ?

Dentist this afternoon for me! Had to have a filling with new Dentist, and OH was right, she is very nice and VERY thorough, so she has our seal of confidence!
Cassie had a busy afternoon with her Dad, and is now crashed out! She'll have to wake up after we've had our supper, else she won't want to go to bed!!
OH getting supper tonight, so I'm having a bit of peace!!

Annx Report 16 Apr 2015 18:57

I bet that was quite a sight to see Mandy. Funnily enough OH was saying how he liked some military words this morning and 'dragoons' came up....also 'hussars!'
Your new table sounds good for seating all the family as you say....with room for one more!! lol. :-) It's handy when you can just extend them when needed too. Yes fingers crossed the car will keep going a bit longer.

Frank, you have got on well with the garden and planting things. The water feature will be nice for the hogs and birds to drink from too.

There was a right ding dong going on at the end of the close just now as the builder had arrived with someone else. We heard raised voices and peeped through the blinds to see the chap that came with the builder filming it on his mobile with the nextdoor neighbour doing the same. Both end neighbours were there and it seemed to be to do with the opening the builder will make at the end of the close and the land that's the front garden of one of them. We decided to keep out of it as feelings were obviously running high and the dispute with the builder over pinching their land and the opening is theirs to sort out now the plans have been passed.

Dad obviously kept Cassie busy Liz! lol. At that age they are either racing about or sleeping. It is like having a baby isn't it. I can remember having to play with my baby brother and sister so they wouldn't go to sleep before bedtime, especially when they'd kept us all up the night before.

Frank Report 16 Apr 2015 19:54

Soaps are on, so I am out of the way. WHY do they have to have these boys/men kissing each other, it turns my stomach. I know I am old fashioned, but I think this is beyond normality for early evening viewing.

R did a nice turkey stir fry tonight so I had an evening off from cooking.

I see it's turning colder tonight, so I am glad I fleeced the beans, I also went down and put a tray of beans back in the greenhouse.

No beer tasting tonight, so I hope it's drinkable. !!!!

I think I enjoyed playing with the puppy when I had one or two. They chased around and I don't know about tiring them out, it left me breathless.

Ros said Valerie is getting quotes for ASTRO TURF for her back garden, as she doesn't want the mowing. I had to smile, she has a son, SIL and a grandson, who are all young enough to do it for her. It's not as though she has a big garden, more like a postage stamp :-( :-( :-(

Just been to the garage, and felt a few spots of rain. So we might be in for a shower this evening.

It looks like it's all kicking off with the builder then Ann, he's getting his comeuppence so it seems. Good on the neighbours for standing their ground. Yes, I agree, it's better to stand back and let them sort it out. :-D :-D :-D

Nothing worth watching on normal T.V. tonight, so I will be flicking through the channels, will end up with NAT GEO I expect, or ITV 3.

Has Jane gone to bed ???? She will be awake by 2.00 am. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Have a nice evening all, see you tomorrow.

Evening All,

Been a lovely day here, really sunny and warm, we even managed to cook on the BBQ but by the time it got to about 5.30 the clouds came over and we had to go in doors to eat the meat , salad and chips.it had gone chilly and to cold to sit outside.

Got a haircut today, it feels lovely & light, still unable to get my hair washed at the hairdressers, but I washed it this morning, so it was clean for the girl to cut it.

I think OH has dozed of on the settee. I can't let him sleep to long ,I have put away the chairs and covered up the garden table but OH has to put away the BBQ & close the garage door, I can't lift or reach the door.

Hello from a very squiffy me :-S...Fitz arrived at 12.30 and left at 5.30..I won't tell you how much wine we got through.Chris was the worst !!!!...We sat outside and had a nice lunch of assortments of cold meats and cheeses ,salad bowl ,baguettes ,olives, coleslaw etc.So it was quite a feast :-D

Just had phone call from Hannah to say she has got funding to go to America in June.
She is on a high :-D Looking at booking all the flights now.She will be going to a Uni in San Diego to do with research into addiction and then on to Texas for a conference where she will have to do a presentation.

I must read all todays posts now :-D......and am getting worried as it is 8 and James isn't home.He normally tells me in the morning if he is going to be late. His dinner has been ready for an hour now.

Jane

Jane Report 16 Apr 2015 20:43

James home.....The reason why he was so late was his friend's rabbit had died and they were going to bury it..When they started digging , they discovered a stash of old bottles and old iron tools..So poor bunny still hasn't been buried. :-S He is in a cardboard box.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 Apr 2015 22:47

That sounds interesting Jane. Oh dug up a load of old bottles when he lived out the front. We still have some of them.

Did the shopping this afternoon and was tired when I got home at 5pm. Took me ages to put it all away and have a cuppa. Then I had to get all the banties back in our ground as they were scratching in the field behind us. Then it was wash all the hog bowls and put the lights back on the grass as I took them all up for oh to mow while I was out.

Down at Prickly Hollow which in under a big camelia all the grass is pink with thepetals off the bush. It looks so pretty.

Thanks for the pics Frank. The feature looks great as does your patch. Now you just have to wait for it all to grow.

Hope the viewing went well for Gill today.

Ann hope G's car last till the new one arrives. He must be getting excited now and will want this wekk to go quickly.

I see Jane had a GOOD lunch today and Chris and Fitz too by the sounds of things.

Signing out now so night night.

Morning all and evening Kim,

Looks like I am first out and first in this morning.

Not so bright this morning as there's a bit of cloud in the sky. Wispy clouds in lines but the sun may burn them off. Or I at least hope so.

Ankles ache this morning so I don't know if I shall get up the border or not. It's a long way to walk up there you know..........and it's a long border as Ann will tell you.

I did'nt see any hogs last night but the food was all gone so they must have come while I was inside.

When I went shopping yesterday as I approached the end of the road to turn right to Bideford a lizzard ran across the road. I wondered what it was at first but it must have been a lizzard.

Morning Petals evening Kim,

Breezy sort of morning here. Rosa has a line of Colours on the line and a whites wash in the Machine. So should all dry in the breeze.

Won't be doing much today, we are both feeling a bit wacked after all the gardening. It will be nice to have a day off.

You were lucky Fiona to be able to have a BBQ even though you had to eat in doors. Lets hope the weather stays nice for you.

WELL, did you get an offer yesterday Gill, I do hope so.

I see our P artist is back in the living. That must have been some lunch, come on own up HOW MANY BOTTLES>????

That was some find in the garden, how old were the bottles etc. ??In the olden days they had areas where the buried all there Junk. I have heard before about these pits being uncovered.

Mel, I can only imagine the size of your "GARDEN" I think you mentioned 8 acres. ?? So it's almost a hick to get round that area. No wonder you are as fit as a Butchers DOG lol

What sort of size was the lizard. Not like a Comodo Dragon :-0 :-0 :-0

Must get in the bathroom as R will be in the shower soon and washing her hair, then I won't be able to get near it for an hour.

Frank Report 17 Apr 2015 11:26

Forgot to mention, during the night while fast asleep a picture that hangs over the headboard decided to fall on my head. I wondered where the hell I was. !!! It's one Ros made from different materials. with pearls and feathers decorating it. IT will have to find a new place to reside, as I don't want that coming down on me again.

Just got out of the bathroom in time. ;-) ;-) ;-) It's been taken over now !!!
