Oh yes, good luck with your check up appointment Anne. I see you are like my OH then with the 'white coat' effect. He should have taken his own BP results with him but forgot! He goes in a sweat at the thought of the needle and can't believe I watch and point to my best vein, but at least he's lucky in having good veins!!

I think oh is goign to make something I can put over the hole when I am up there if I am staying any length of time. He has made a step up but I have a landing platform as my little legs would'nt reach up onto the boards with all the lagging so we have a single layer at the top of the ladder to the side. There is also the roof struts I can reach when I get to the top of the ladder.

We cold'nt have a wheelie bin when they gave them out as there was no way I would have been able to get it up the top. We just use bin bags and we have a rectangular green box without a lid for the recycleing. A plastic sack for paper and a beige plastic sack for cardboard which I never use. I do put the papers in the green sack and all the bumph that comes in the paper and through the door. I do that about every month and fold it in half and put it on top of the box. I also squash all the plastic bottles so I can get more in there and they don't blow about so much like that.

Morning all,

Nice sunny start this morning.

Docs this morning at 10.30am so I hope I can change my pills for my indigestion and see at last what I have done to my hand. He'll probably say its too late to do anything about it.

Frank Report 26 Jan 2018 09:54

Good morning to you all,

Calm morning here. A bit of blue sky amongst the white clouds.

I was in bed and asleep before 9.00 pm last night. I left a note for Ros to say sorry for not staying up. I only got out once for the loo and slept until 8.10 this morning. Ros said I had this burping going on in my sleep.

This morning as soon as I had my first COT it started again. I don't want to keep taking Gaviston, so will try to live with it.

Ros has been watching a programme that I recorded for her "Transformation Street" I caught one bit where a man as having his bits removed on the NHS. The state the NHS is in at present, I think these people should pay for their own operations. SORRY.

They told Ros at the hospital if she isn't called for the operation before mid March, she will have to go back and have all this pre-op done again. When the Specialist spoke about the operation before Christmas, she thought it would be 20 weeks. The takes us to April/May. So it's the waiting game.

Glad to hear Thomas is letting you know he's around and ellingyou off for leaving him.

Ann, I am pleased to say NEEDLES never bother me. I have veins that stand up like fingers, so the nurse NEVER has any trouble getting blood. I hope you get on alright with your tests.

I had to smile Mel. You reminded me of Eric Sykes and "THE PLANK" I could just imagine you pushing these boards up into the loft. I bet OH will be glad to see the back of this job. What else have you got lined up for him ????

Ann, Don't mention "HOME SENSE" it's Ros's favourite store, she could spend a fortune every time she goes in there. She has got Julia and Jan always wanting to go there when they are visiting.

Hope your OH is feeling a bit better with his back Gill. Has the Dr. given him anything else to try to clear it up. ?? and how did he get on at the hospital.

Ros is busy changing all the cushions around on the three piece suit and hovering the underneath of the chairs and sofa. SPRING CLEAN has stared.

We are desperate for a window cleaner. I have always done them, but Ros won't let me up the steps, and likewise I won't let her. I must ask Pam next door to send her Window cleaner round next tim he visits.

Shower and shave time for me.Then I will try to eat a bit of breakfast.

You might notice that the T doesn't always come out when I type. I still haven't had it replaced.

See you all later today. xx

Frank I have got quite used to the t missing sometimes and don't really notice now.

Went to the doc's and what am I like it should have been Wednesday not Friday. Now I have to go next week on a WEDNESDAY at 4.15pm so remin d me please. The trouble was they gave me an appointment for Friday and then changed it so Friday must have been in my mind. Foolishly I did'nt look on the calander and should have written it in the diary as I look at that every day.

Its a really lovely day today with plenty of the yellow stuff and blue sky with a few white clouds. How long it will last I don't know.

I keep meaning to tell you this. Oh put a couple of food pellet in my pond one day last week as I only have about three big fish left in there. We stood on the decking looking at his pond and he glanced over to mine and saw little tiny ripples on the water but no big fish around the pellets. He walked over there and said there were tiny black fish eating the food. I went over and saw at least 5 but he said there were about 12. I am delighted. The sky was quite light and shining on the water so it was'nt easy to see them.

Frank

Frank Report 26 Jan 2018 12:47

So it looks like your fish have had babies then Mel. How nice. Do you think you should ry to catch them and put hem is something that will protect them from the other fish eating them. I don't know if fish ea babies, but you can't be to careful.

You are lucky having the sunshine. It's just a none-descript sort of day here.No sign of any yellow suff.

I have lost so much weight, that I am have to wear BRACES to keep my trousers up LOL LOl. If I were a belt I have to have it so tight that it crumples the top of my waistband. The trouble is the braces are donkey years ld, and don' grip very well to my trousers. They keep pinging off at the back.

Still working my way though my latest book, I have one more to read, before either raiding Tony's collection or buying some more from Ebay.

Have booked a table for 2.30 at the Greyhound in the next village. We always get a good meal there. I just hope I can eat what I order. I haven't had any breakfast so that should help. !!

Good afternoon all

I had the blood test and Amanda got enough out on her second attempt she used a butterfly needle, I don't mind needles as I have had so many tests especially after chemo therapy and a blood transfusion. When she called me in I hardly recognised her she had lost so much weight 9.5 stone which is more than I weigh. I have an appointment with the diabetic Doctor in 3 weeks .She also did a urine test checked my feet and weighed me she gave the BP a miss as I had taken my own.
I was only gone an hour and the lovely greeting I got from Ruby you would have thought I had been away for a month.

I hope you enjoyed your Pub meal Frank and managed to eat what you chose. It was good you slept well last night. Fingers crossed Ros doesn't have to wait too long for her OP.

That was good to see new babies in your pond Mel when they are born black they can be hard to spot but is must make them safer. Most of the fish in my bottom pond were born there as most of the older ones ore now gone

Bless her Anne she really missed you. I bet she kept looking for you and when she saw you come through the door she got all excited to think you had'nt left her after all. <3
So you have had a good once over for another year now.

Frank no need to catch the fish they are about 2" long and jet black. We had seen the fish mateing like mad last year but as there is no fine weed in the pond I did'nt think they stood a chance. Oh was cross as he said that was the next thing he was going to do clear the pond right out but he can't do it now if there are babies in there as they are very hard to see.

Afternoon Everyone
Hope your check up went ok today Anne. I have the same trouble with White Coat Syndrome too. Daft really as i never FEEL anxious.

Crikey Frank we can't have your braces pinging off .You might loose your trews when you are out and about. Maybe a good lunch today will have filled you out a bit :-D.I do hope that you managed to eat a good amount.

Oh little fishies Mel :-D. I hope they all survive. I bet you felt a right silly billy turning up at the Drs today and finding out it should have been on Wednesday LOL . I think we have all done that at some point. Mine has been the Dentist and Hairdressers.
So your appointment is next WEDNESDAY :-D.You will have to leave yourself a big note on Tuesday night.

Ann that was swift service getting your bin lid fixed. I am impressed.

Our fencing has been done today. So all secure again. We have 2 new panels and posts. I'm still not sure what the plan is for the rest of the tree remaining standing next door. He did say he was getting someone to take it down. We will see.It could be out of sight out of mind.

I have tried for days to get an appointment with the GP (one in particular) I got through yesterday and was told he had 4 free appointments next Tuesday, but the line to book opened dead on the dot at 12.30 today. So rather than try getting through on the phone I drove to the surgery and stood at reception and made sure I was at the front one minute before 12.30. I was standing there for 15 minutes and letting people go in front of me . They must have wondered what I was doing. But I got an appointment for Tuesday at 4.10 :-D :-D

We had our Smart Meter fitted this afternoon. It is very strange seeing this thing which shows how much leccy we are using minute by minute. It is in the kitchen at the moment but Chris will put it in the study tomorrow. I hope we dont become obsessed with looking at it every few minutes LOL . I know I wont, but I can see Chris doing it at least for a while until the fascination wears off :-D

James is going down to Canterbury this evening to Jess,so I just need to get his dinner ready for him. He can then go and Chris and I will eat later.

Sorry to hear you both have the flu Mandy, hope you both feel better soon.

New babies how lovely Mel. Hope they don't come to any harm.

How did your pub meal go Frank, did you managed to eat what you ordered?
Hope Ros doesn't have to wait to long for her operation.

So you have new fence panels now Jane? Let's hope your neighbour has the rest of the tree taken down so it doesn't blow onto your new fence. It sounds like you did the right thing to get your doctors appointment, you might not have got one if you had rung them.

How nice for Ruby to greet you like that Anne. You weren't out long were you? I wish our doctors were as quick as that, we have to wait ages and that's with an appointment time.

Poor OH saw the doctor today He went for his test results but has got another really bad chest infection. He is so poorly with it this time and is back on yet more antibiotics. He has to go for a number of tests including a scan as the doctor thinks he has either gall stones or kidney stones, he also has to go for physio with his back and then possibly see a back specialist if the physio doesn't help. He was told he has arthritis and rheumatism in his back and he'll never be able to get full movement back again, so all in all he's not a well man. I've just run him another hot bath as he was shivering and his back was hurting, I'm hoping it's going to help him sleep as he didn't sleep very well last night. Bless him, he said he'd sleep on the sofa so he doesn't keep me awake, but I said I'd come and sleep on the sofa if I need to as it wouldn't help his back if he slept on there. He is absolutely shattered as he hasn't slept properly for 3 days. He looks awful, I'm really worried as the doctor is concerned with the blood in his urine too. I hope he gets better soon as I don't know how much more he can take. He's had three chest infections so far this year and we're still in January and he's also got a sore throat, although I think that might be down to all the coughing he's doing. We're really not having a good start to 2018 are we? :-( :-(

On a positive note I have managed to finish off sorting the paper bills out and have got the five files down to three, so that's good. I can now see my living room floor......well for now anyway as I have more things I want to go through and sort out. I've been busy today with housework too and have changed the beds, so this is the first chance I've had to come on here.

I've decided I'm going to make OH a cheesecake tomorrow as that should be soft on his throat and I've also promised Sandra I'll make her a trifle, so that's the jobs for tomorrow. I feel like I'm meeting myself coming back as the moment, I'm so busy. Sandra is helping where she can, bless her.

Well, I'm off to bed shortly, see you all tomorrow <3

Frank Report 27 Jan 2018 10:39

Good morning to you all,

Sorry to hear you and OH aren't well Mandy. Keep warm and drink plenty.

Gill if Glynn has suspect stones, that will be THREE OF US Ian, Me, and Glynn. I have an appointment for a scan at 11.00 am next Thursday. I hope I don't get held up as Ros has her nail appointment at Midday.

Simon was a bit late yesterday, but I phoned to let the pub know we would be a bit late. Which he thanked me for when we arrived. I had a small bowl of Whitebait as a starter and Cod and chips. I only managed about half of it. The other three had Pate to start. Ros had Steak, and Sally and Simon Gammon.

From there we went to "HOME SENSE" Simon and I sat in the car for over an HOUR. He finally went in to chase them up. We got home and I made a COT. They left to go home about 7.00 pm.

They are taking of going to London for a day, with me thing them round all the places and even Sally want to go to SOUTHEND ON SEA . and LEIGH to the cockle sheds. That will bring back a lot of memories. I wonder if a day will be enough as they want to call and see my sister and SIL and the church where my MUM AND DAD are.

Nothing sort of day here, but dry. Ros doesn't need any bits today, so she will have a day off from shopping. I have a choice of meats in the freezer for tomorrows dinner.

Lets hope your neighbour takes down the rest of the tree Jane. (a) it will be an eyesore or (b) it might decide to fall down and do more damage.

Hope you catch the fish Mel. They can then grow on,

Anne I see everything was good with your checkup, and that Dear Ruby was missing you while you were out.

Going to get some breakfast, (Late i know) !!

Morning all,

Its dull and dreary here this morn ing and not nice after the bright sunny starts we have had over the last few days.

Poor Glynn, I do feel for him as he has'nt been well since before Christmas last year. It must really be getting him down now. I hope he has better results soon and the meds help him clear this thing up once and for all. Roll on the spring andsome better weather which will make us All feel better I think. Sending love and wishes. <3 <3

I was up late this morning, 20 past 10 !! Oh is up in the loft and I had to put the loft ladder up while he was up there so he could see how far it went in the loft to know how much lagging he can put down there under the ladder when its dtowed away. I was'nt quiye tall enough yo get it right up and over at the top so if I have to do it on my own I shall need my little mate, my step.

Well must get my eggs ready for delivery and do the shop and then I may clean the big girls out as it looks quite still today so the shavings don't blow in my face.

Annx Report 27 Jan 2018 16:14

Afternoon All,

I'm HOME ALONE as Frank would say on this dull, rainy day! OH has gone to watch a Rugby match instead of footie this afternoon. I've sorted some more paperwork like Gill and cleaned the kitchen worktops and after this COT will go through a box in one of the wardrobes that has clothes in. At least I will have got some things done then! :-)

Poor you and Colin Mandy getting the flu. I hope it won't be too bad and that you make a quick recovery. Keep warm and rest is the best I think till you feel a bit better. <3 <3

I can just picture little Ruby beside herself to see you get home Anne! She's a little poppet isn't she. Good news on your tests too.

Gill, you are right, you haven't had much luck this year and your poor hubby keep getting these chest infections! It isn't surprising with the worry about other family members, he must be a bit run down I expect and is getting another before he has fully recovered from the last one. I hope he soon feels a bit better, what with his back and possible kidney/gall stones he must feel really fed up. Hopefully, step by step he will get each thing checked out and some treatment to help him and it may help his back when the weather gets warmer. A nice warm bath helps as you say and maybe a warm hot water bottle would help too.

Jane it sounds like getting appointments at your surgery is as hard as it is here. We rarely see the same doctor which isn't ideal and usually end up queueing outside early in the morning to be sure of getting an appointment. They release afternoon appointments at 11.00am here and they have to issue numbers to patients waiting for them now to prevent squabbles!! :-0 It's good you managed to get an appointment in the end though. It's good the fence got fixed so quickly!

Mel how lovely to see some baby fish in your pond! I wonder how old they are before they begin to show their colouring. I noticed the other day that a big aquatic shop on the A5 where we got our pond from and that has a lake of Koi next to the carpark is closing down as the owners are retiring. :-S I must go over there next week and look at their fish tanks as there are some good discounts. I know I have got dates wrong for the hairdresser in the past so you aren't alone! lol.

Frank, I'm surprised you risked whitebait with your indigestion, so hope you didn't regret it. Maybe you didn't manage much of it though. It sounds like Ros and Sally had a good browse around HOME SENSE just like me! lol. I think it's a good idea to have a window cleaner now and not risk falling doing them. We find it is cheap with having a bungalow like you.

Well another day at doing nothing. Just getting lunch, going for the paper and egg delivery and the never ending washing up. I have corned the chickens and had a bit of a clear out of papers on the desk in the lounge.

Ann I did'nt know G liked Rugby too.

Oh has been up in the loft today taking up the old flooring that was up there and treating it all for woodworm just in case then its board laying tomorrow unless I can get him to have a day off and just piggle about as Liz would say.

Its been raining that fine stuff today all day and when I went into Shebbear it was like a fog. Even Ed next door said to me this morning I wish it would stop raining. He is a lot younger than us. I think the boys can't play outside so much and Ed can't do outside things when its raining.

Oh has just gone off to have a shower and its getting dark now so I can go and shut the girls in and then we can have a nice COT and a hot cross bun. Then I only have to do the dinner tonight and thas me done. Any time after that is my own.

Must go and get the solar lights out of the bedroom. Bet they hav'nt charged up much today.

Evening All

I am having weird things happening with the laptop. It just keeps going totally blank :-S So fingers crossed I can get this post done.

Gill I am sorry OH is so poorly. He really is going through the mill at the moment with his back ,chest and the blood in his urine. The coughing with the chest infection will hurt his back each time he has to cough.I hope he will get his scan done soon.

Dear Ruby giving you that wonderful welcome Anne :-D. That is whats lovely about having a dog. You dont get the same greeting from a cat . Maybe a few purrs lol and that is it. Your Nurse has lost an incredible amount of weight hasnt she. I would be happy with half a stone right now !!!

Frank can you maybe suggest to Simon it might be a bit much to get all that done in just one day and a night somewhere might be a nice idea.It seems an awful lot for just a day.

I think mid March is a long time away from Ros having her pre op assessment . Maybe things have changed but I am sure it used to be that you had the assessment really close to the op date.

Ann, I dont think I have ever known your OH going to a Rugby Match. Gareth is Rugby mad. Not sure that Hannah is quite so keen. I think she has been to a couple of big Matches with him and enjoyed it . But that might just have been the excitment of the game rather than the game itself .

Mel OH must be getting a bit fed up now in the loft all this time !!! He is certainly doing a proper job up there.

I got Chris to take the doors of the shower off this morning so I could get to the tracks at the bottom . Oh my gawd the gunk that I got out was totally gross !!!!!!!. It was disgusting and I never should have left it that long .The glass screen and doors are clean too now but still have the tiles to do. My Sciatica was so painful I just couldn't do any more .
This afternoon I have wrapped Chris's Birthday presents while he was out in the summerhouse. So that is all done now. What with wrapping Xmas presents, James's Birthday Presents and now Chris's it has seemed never ending. But now there are no more until March for Hannah.

I see it is 6 o'clock already. Chris will be wondering when dinner is soon. Bit of a scrappy meal tonight. Chicken Schnitzel things, roast Asparagus,Mushrooms,Cherry Tomatoes and a Baguette. I was going to do a Pea and Asparagus Risotto to go with the chicken, but I dont think I can stand long enough at the oven to cook it. So bread it will have to be .

I hope Mandy and Colin are ok. No doubt feeling absolutely dreadful with this flu.
<3 Mandy if you look in.

OH has always gone to an odd Rugby match, he watched Leicester once last year, not sure if it was the Tigers. This was a Hinckley 'top' game against Sale. I've never been to a Rugby game and only a couple of times to a footie match with OH in the VERY early days. I went once to watch Leicester City as a teenager with a friend who dragged me there! I couldn't see a thing over the tall chaps in front and I caught a cold and vowed never again! OH likes all kinds of sport and keeps threatening to take me to see basket ball or ice hockey! He wanted me to go to the speedway in the city last year, but it's not in a very nice area of the city and where you park was a bit secluded with little lighting so even he didn't fancy that!

I feel quite tired now so will go and watch a recorded Michael Portillo with OH then to bed!
