Its nice to know that Mandy and Colin are getting better a bit at last. Sounds like Colin is a bit better than you Mandy but you will soon catch up with him. We all wish you better soon. The children will want to see you the minuet your better.
Went to the doc's in blinding sun shine and had to put the visor down. Had to wait 20mins. She was late and kept apologizing each time she came out to call a patient. There were three people in front of me and one lady I knew. She used to clean for us here and her brother did the garden. We had a good natter about the pot holes in the roads and other things in general.
She (the doc) put me on bigger Omeprazole for a month and then I go back to the 10mg and see how I get on but will give me the 20mg if I need them. As to my finger she said it should get better on its own but it will take time. So thats me sorted for a month when I have to go back to her.

Afternoon All I have a super quick laptop now :-D :-D.Chris just has to put an SD card in one of the card ports on the side of the lap top to back everything up. That should be here tomorrow.
Crumbs Mandy you have both had a really bad dose of this flu. Hopefully the worse is over now and the sweats hae finished. Lying in sheets that have been sweated through make you feel cold. It will probably take you both another few weeks to get over this. The coughs too that everyone seems to get can last for 6 weeks or so (So I have been told) :-S :-S. Frank, maybe you could get one of those V shaped pillows Mel mentioned . That would prop you up quite nicely at night.
All this talk of Spring Bulbs. I cant wait to see all the lovely Spring Flowers popping up. Our Snowdrops are the only thing looking pretty in ur garden at the moment.
OLd Mother Riley !!!!!! Frank, naughty boy LOL .I cant wait though for my hair to stop coming out. There is a trail of my hair all over the house and over everything :-S It is freaking me out. But now I have stopped the dreaded pills I just have to be patient. Not easy but I must.
Mel did you have the Doctor today? I thought you said it was today and meant to remind you yesterday.
Liz, I often worry about animals I see with very elderly owners and wonder what will happen to the dogs/cats etc if the owner should pass away and . That must be a real comfort knowing Merlin and Cas will be well cared for should God Forbid anything happens to both of you.
Today I finally got around to booking a night at the Three Choirs Vineyard in Newant.Hannah bought us a voucher for a nights B&B last year and I had totally forgotten about it !!!. So June 6th is when we wil go. The voucher runs out at the end of June so I was leaving it a bit late !!! It is not too far from Janice so we will probably be able to meet up somewhere with her and Larry.
Poor Janice and Larry had a rather traumatic evening last night. They had a desperate phone call from Rachel asking them if they could get to hers quickly as there had been a major bust up with Rachel and her OH and he had left. Finn was trashing his Dad's office and had a knife wanting to cut all his Dads clothes up !!!!!! Janice's son Michel went and took Rachel and Amelia out of the house while Janice and Larry dealt with Finn. It all sounded just dreadful. Finn has spent the day with Janice and Larry as he was in no fit state to go to school. Poor little lad. It is all too much to go into here ,but HE hasnt paid the mortgage for a couple of months, and seems to prefer spending time at the pub rather than working. Rachel has no money of her own and is worried sick(as you can imagine.) I popped a cheque in the post this afternoon (not for the mortgage) but just enough to help her get through the next week or so. I sent it to Janice so she can bank it and then give Rachel the cash. Thought that was the best thing to do. It is all just a mess at the moment . So no peace again for my lovely sister and Larry :-( They need medals.
I made a Meatloaf today The one with the Tomato Ketchup,Mustard and Brown Sugar sauce brushed over.It is cooked now . Looks and smells good.
I see we are supposed to be seeing this special moon tonight. I dont think we will be seeing it here. Its too cloudy.

Sorry to hear about your family problems Jane. Hope it's all sorted soon. That was kind of you to send a cheque. I'm sure that'll really help.
Yes, I heard it on the news about the blue moon (two full moons in one month) and it being a super moon. Unfortunately the UK won't see the blood moon (Luna Eclipse) Apparently a super, blue, blood moon hasn't happened since 1866. It only happens when the moon, earth and sun are all in alignment with each other. I've just seen the moon now and it's massive. I wonder if that's where the saying "Once in a Blue Moon" comes from, with it only happening every so many hundreds of years.

Here we are again. Good morning all.
I went to bed at 10.15 pm. The BL@@DY cough started up as soon as I laid my head on the pillow. I tried to sleep but no luck. I came into the lounge at 11.30. Ros went to bed soon after. I sat until 12.30 and went back to bed. Ros was asleep, and the cough started up again. I felt her sigh and turn over, so got up again. I have taken more cough mixture and sucked some strepsils (sp) I have been alright sitting up in the chair.
Oh Jane what a todo for poor Janice and Larry. I hope they get it sorted, and things start to come together. I assume Finn is at an age where he will defend his mother and sister. Lets hope no permanent damage has been done.
Congratulations LIZ and IAN on your 53rd wedding anniversary I hope you have a enjoyable day. Our anniversary is the 3rd June. It will be 40 years.
I looked out at the moon earlier, and it was SO bright, and moving quite quickly across the sky, I'll have another look a bit later.
I've already had a COT, but will go and make myself another as my mouth feels terrible. I will be so glad to see the back of this cold.

Morning all
<3 <3 <3 HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LIZ <3 <3 <3 Hope you have a great day. Do you have anything nice planned?
Terrible weather here today, very windy, cold and we've had hailstones. Apparently we had a massive thunder storm at 2.30 this morning, it woke OH up. I didn't hear a thing and slept right through it, so I must of been more tired than I thought. I went to bed earlier than I usually do and slept right through till almost 8am this morning. I probably would of slept longer but gave OH a nudge to see if he'd taken his antibiotic so I could get back off to sleep. It's a good job I woke him as he didn't have a good nights sleep and hadn't taken his tablet. If he takes them to late in the morning then we end up going to bed very late at night as he has to wait to take his last one of the day. I didn't manage to get back off to sleep, but that's okay as I had a good few hours, which is more than I normally have.
Sorry to see you didn't have a good nights sleep Frank, I know how you feel with OH being ill, it's no joke is it? I hope your cold and cough clears soon.
It's a good job I looked at the moon earlier in the evening as it clouded over so I wouldn't of been able to see a thing later on.
More sorting planned for today. I've just rang my mum as she was in a foul mood at the beginning of the year and every time I rang her she'd bite my head off, so I left speaking to her for a few weeks to give her time to calm down. She was still in a bit of a mood today but we did manage to have a half way decent conversation without her picking on me much, so I suppose I should be grateful of that.
Anyway I'd better go and finish emptying my corner wardrobe, I'm thinking of putting a false floor in there as some of my shoes and boots were mouldy, the ones near the bottom, so I thought if there was a false floor then there would be a gap for the air to circulate, then hopefully anything I put in there will be dry and safe. I think I've got a piece of wood the right size, so I'll cut up some blocks of wood for it to sit on.
What's that saying A WOMAN'S WORK IS NEVER DONE. ;-) ;-) Good job I had a good nights sleep so I have the energy to do it. See you all later.

Still awake !!! Good morning Gill, Ros got up at 8.00 and wanted me to go to bed. I didn't bother and got myself some breakfast.
Ros is at Stitchery Do today, so I have the place to myself. No doubt I will drop off in the armchair.
Still got this horrible cough, and not being able to clear my chest. I think if I could clear that it would be easier.
Looked out during the night, but couldn't see the moon. It is very windy here and looks very cold.
Thanks for the photo's Mel. Those Great tits look well fed. !!!
Going to get showered, that might brighten me up a bit.

Goodness Jane, what a to do!! I remember having a few ups and downs like that with 'L'!! I think all you can do is be a shoulder to cry on and an ear to bend as at the end of the day, sadly, only the two people concerned can sort it out and too much interference from well meaning parents can often make things worse. That's my experience anyway!! You poor thing Frank, you do sound poorly, hope you're better soon Thanks for the pics Mel. That bottle is a museum piece!! Thanks too for the good wishes. In fact we're not doing anything today as it's the last day of shooting and the beaters are allowed to shoot! We've decided to go out on Saturday as that is the actual day of the week, so I'm home alone with Cas having a bit of peace!!!! Tbh Jane, we wouldn't have had Cas if we hadn't been able to make provision for her if something happened to us. Merlin was a done deal too with 'L' before we got him but If for some reason she had to rehome him, emotionally it wouldn't really a problem as he'd settle down with new people and be ok, but a dog is a different matter as they are so fond of their owners and can easily pine. Luckily Cas knows M and R really well, stayed in their house, and they're very fond of her, so we're happy for her to go there if necessary. Better take her for a run, then I'm making Fish Pie!!

<3 <3 <3 Happy Anniversary Liz and Ian <3 <3 <3
Morning All,
Bright and sunny here this morning but there's a terrible strong wind thats icy cold.
Sorry you had another bad night Frank. You shoud really try more pillows in bed to make you sit up a bit. Whats really annoying me is that I just burnt one of those V pillows which was brand new. It was one of mums she never used. A funny one because it was in two pieces and still in its wrapping.
I have the library today and I must'nt forget as I did last month! I have no books to as I finished them all at the weekend and I miss the talk whilst getting the lunch and dinner. If I have the telly on I always want to see what they are talking about so thats no good.
Gill I hope hubby is feeling a bit better today.
Mamndy how are you two getting along today. I hope you're feeling better today. You seemed to be a bit behind Colin. Love and wishes to you both. <3

Hi all, I have been trying to sort out quotes for Ros's Car Insurance. What a minefield. I have done the rounds with the sites, and some independent ones. The prices vary so much, I can't believe that the same car, can get so many different quotes. I am talking from £165. 00. up to over £800.00 .Needless to say I will stay who we are with. I have spoken with them this morning. If I give them the payment over the phone today, they will take the money from the account over night. As it isn't due till the 22nd they can wait a few more days. I might just as well have it in my bank instead of theirs. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Liz, my throat has been so sore I have been unable to swallow without difficulty. My mouth is like the bottom of a parrots cage. LOL. I m drinking so much water, that I m back and forward to the loo all the time. :-( :-( :-( I do hope you have a nice day/evening on Saturday for your anniversary. Will you go to your local eatery ??
Hows things on the "WESTERN FRONT" Jane. I hope they are settling down a bit. Janice will be on he phone to you for comfort, and understanding. Poor woman. xx
Mel, I think we have one of those V pillows around somewhere that I bought for Ros, after one of her back operations.
Tomorrow I go for my ultra sound on my stones. So will hopefully know where they are. Kidney or Gall bladder.
Lots of white clouds going over on the wind. They say the wind chill is going to make it feel like 1 or 2 degrees. So we haven't seen the last of this weather.
Decision time, what do we have for dinner tonight. I have steaks, chops, mince in the freezer. It won't take long to defrost whatever my Darling wife fancies.
I looked out of the kitchen window and see the cats are still next door but one. Sitting on the lounge window sill. So hey haven't gone o he re-homing centre yet. :-( :-( :-( At least the woman who is looking after them is keeping them indoors, away from our garden.
Are you all finished and tidied away now Gill. With all this sorting, you won't know where anything is. lol.
Off for a cuppa. might pop back this evening. xx

I didn't get all the photo's Mel, just the one of the moon :-(
I've started with a tickly cough, hope I'm not coming down with something and it's just the sawdust from cutting the wood for the false floor in the wardrobe. The floor is all finished now, so hopefully no more of my things will go mouldy anymore. I've sprayed a bit of my perfume in there to make it smell better and left the door open, so now the whole bedroom smells nice :-) It'll be nice to put some things back in the wardrobe now the new floor's in there.

Afternoon All HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LIZ and IAN <3 <3.I bet it only seems like yesterday that you married :-D :-D
Mel I have never seen a food colour bottle like that one . How old do you think it is? Love the Moon pic. I took a couple but they werent great.
FRank, Finn is 12 and Amelia I think is 8 or 9. Finn is a very reserved boy normally and this outburst he had I think scared the pants off Rachel. Which is why she called Janice and Larry. He said that he was angry with his Mum for letting his Dad back the last time and he knew this would happen again. I hope he has gone back to school today . Liz, Janice and Larry are very good at 'not interfering '. They must have to bite their tongues sometimes lol. But all they are really concerned about are the children . They are always there though if needed. It is all just a blooming mess really. I havent heard anything today . Maybe tonight I will.
What a difference in quotes for the car insurance !!!!!. How can it be like that .Its bonkers. Good luck tomorrow with your scan. The sooner they can find where these stones are the better now and hopefully they can be dealt with . Fingers crossed you can get a reasonable sleep tonight . Gill, I bet it is the sawdust giving you that tickley throat. All those small particles being breathed in is likely to irritate . Mould spores too wont have helped and might have been the cause on other times you have had problems. At least now you have the wardrobe all sorted :-D I nipped out only to get some bread today. Then Chris asked why I had as he had told me he was going to make some in the Breadmaker !!. Silly me. I did see Steve though (the homeless man) and he is looking much brighter .I saw him yesterday too and said how nice it was to see him with a bit more sparkle. He said he had got shot of his friend who had been dragging him down and he feels much happier for doing it . I asked him if he needed anything ,like toiletries and he said that he could do with some change so he could go to the local swimming pool for a shower . I am never keen on giving money and would rather buy food or a hot drink, but when he said that I felt I had to give him some cash .He is a proud man and NEVER asks for anything.
Did any of you watch Kiri? I thought it was a rather odd ending last night. But what a brilliant Drama.
Liz do you watch Spiral? The French series with subtitles? I love it and thought it might be the kind of thing you would watch. I may have already asked you if you watch this series LOL .
Has Ann said what she is making today ? I loved the rings.
Mandy ,I hope things are improving and that you are both now feeling at least a little more human and no more drenched sheets. How is Max with you both being crook ? No walkies just tiddles and poops in the garden?
Ready meals here tonight :-D
Gareth sent me a couple of pics from his week ski-ing with his Dad. Boy are they having a good time. They are in France somewhere and there is loads of snow. Gill , Sandra would have a field day there LOL . She could make a million snowmen :-D

This of course is the trouble Jane, the affect all the traumas have on children. With our family ups and downs we feel so sorry for Ed. He loves Daddy and there always seems to be a drama about access, a promise to take to football that doesn't materialise etc! always a good reason, but Ed's only 10 and gets so disappointed. He's such a lovely affectionate little boy, I could sometimes cry for him, grrrr! The girls cope pretty well, they both seem a bit indifferent so it's difficult to know what they really think!! BUT, we, like your sister have to keep our own council! No we haven't been watching the french series, not quite sure why as those sort of films are our thing. We haven't watched kire either!!!!! I watched Call the Midwife on catchup this afternoon. Those gorgeous babies are just beautiful, but that poor lady, I felt quite shattered at the end of it!!!

Good Evening All . Happy Anniversary Liz & Ian, It's good to see back on here Liz
The internet was down most of yesterday so haven't got round to reading all the posts yet'
Had the Sainsbury delivery this morning so well stocked up for the week.
That was a clear picture of the moon Mel, we have too many street lights to get the full benefit of the night sky around here, even the path at the top of the garden is well lit.
I must get round to reading the posts later.

Thanks Anne, it's good to be back chatting again!! Do hope you're feeling better after your bout of 'flu'? Ruby sounds a lovely girl and a comfort! OH is flaked out this evening. I think he walked a fair old way and of course isn't as young as he was!! I must investigate shopping for groceries on line as I've a feeling we may need it when OH starts his treatment. 'L' absolutely swears by it, so I must bite the bullet!!

Been working hard today. Did a bit of rioning and stood on guard of the leccy switch while oh wired the spotlights in the kitchen area. I now have 6 spots in there but they do knock the leccy out sometimes. Oh seems to think we need a new wall switch as its a double one for the stip light and the spots.
I can't do shopping on line because I like to pick the things I want and especially meat and salad stuff. It also gets me out to see people as living behind this tall wall we don't see anyone but the postman and delivery drivers.
Oh got on well in the loft today but he looked worn out when he fineally came down. We hav'nt had the heating on all day.
I cleaned the big girls out this afternoon after lunch. I had made a big pot of thick soup and warmed rolls. It went down a treat.
Gill I think I missed you off the first email I sent with pics on!! Sorry. I'll send them again. I took a couple more of the moon tonight as it was sitting on one of the branches of our tree down by Prickly Hollow. Also while I was looking out the window at the birds feeding the long tailed tits came and one was actually inside the square wire fat block feeder. By the time I had the camera it had come out though.
Went to the library and chose 5 talking books and Julie said I could have a free one as one I took back had two bad cd's that sounded like they were talking backwards. That used to happen when we had the tapes if they had beeen caught in the machine and creased up but I could unwind them to find the problem and rewind them again which you can't do with a cd.
I hope our Mandy is feeling a little better today. I bet she can't wait to be well again. Keep taking the meds and drinks Mandy and Colin.
Frank have you tried taking some honey and lemon nice and hot with a couple of paracetamol or your Cocodamol? I always find it helps me. Manuka honey if you can afford it. I buy tiny jars in Morrisons to keep in the cupboard for that purpose and even have it on toast on Donkeky day as I don't eat while I am out all day.

Just noticed your post about Sky Liz, thanks for letting me know. I shall look into free sat further when I find some spare time. Your post was on the other page so I missed it, sorry.
I know what you mean about insurance variations Frank, when I looked into it last year I managed to save us almost £1000, so it pays to shop around. I too couldn't understand how the prices can vary so much for the same vehicle. I think saving so much from the year before is probably because we are both in our 50's now with full no claims. Let's hope when the renewal comes through it's still cheap.
I'll look forward to seeing the photo's when you send them Mel. Pleased to see you went to the library this month after missing it last month, you now have something to read/listen to now.
I'm not sure it is the sawdust that's causing my cough now as I have the shivers that OH had as well and feel generally under the weather. I hope I feel better tomorrow as it's not a nice feeling. I've taken a Beechams hot drink and I'll be off to bed shortly. OH went to see the doctor again today, but he couldn't give him anymore antibiotics as he's had so many already, he has to give a sample of the stuff he cough's up tomorrow so it can be analysed, he should get the results in a week's time.

Bright and not so cold today, I've just seen the moon, but then it disappeared, probably behind fine clouds.
I'm feeling awful today, had a bad night and woke up with a sore throat and aching all over, still got the cough, so it looks like I've caught something off OH. Going to take it easy today and maybe have a soak in the bath later if I feel up to it. I do need to change the bedding, but I'm sure Sandra will help me with that when she wakes up.

Morning all,
Its supposed to be dry here today and the sun is trying to come out but its raining too.
I am sooooooooooo fed up with this continual wet wet wet stuff falling from the sky.
Nothing planned for today but I would like to do a bit of craft or clean the bantams out. You never know I may do both but there again there is a pile of ironing in the uti room which is crying out to be smoothed.
