Much better day here, quite mild compared to how it has been!!
Caught up with washing had two showers, change the bed and generally got back to normal!! Merlins water bowl in his stable is now running freely again, and he is out in the field, so he's happy!! OH is cleaning the yard which had got a bit neglected during the crisis. Roast chicken for lunch, so hopefully a peaceful day!!

Good morning fair maidens,

Nice to see you all have survived this horrible wether. Water back on and showers working. We have been so lucky in that respect. Jonathan said his Condensing Boiler froze at the outlet. Which a lot of people have complained about.

Looking out the back garden, there is hardly any snow left on the lawn, and the sun is out !!! So I think we are in for the thaw. Now watch out for the floods.

We did a silly thing yesterday. We bought a Chinese and Indian Takeaway from Tesco. NEVER, NEVER AGAIN. Ros took one mouthful of her Beef in Black bean and threw it in the bin. I ate a bit more of my Indian but that followed soon after. This morning it's been going through me like a DOSE OF SALTS. Sorry. !!!

Nice joint of Leg of Pork for today. I have done all the Veg. Just the pudding and Cheese sauce to make.

What a total idiot I am. I have sent the Card and Flowers to the wrong address. I put 42 on the order and card, whereas Mary lives at 41. The trouble is the person who lives at 42 is a RUSSIAN and doesn't speak English. I just hope she gets things sorted over the weekend/Monday. I have altered her address in my book. !!!!

All showered and dressed. Now I can sit a start to read my last book.

The Russian is going to be pleased with the flowers Frank!! You silly boy. I wonder if the russian knows your sisters name?

Suns out here now and its very Spring like.

Afternoon all,

Suns been out here too but has gone now and there's more cloud about ,we should be getting rain later ,when we got up this morning the icicles had all gone on the church guttering so the temp must have been up in the night and it is no where near as cold as it was ,all that snow and the little snow drops are sill flowering and bobbing their little heads

Oh Frank some ones had some nice surprise flowers , perhaps when they read the card they might know they are for your sister and take them round, if they know her name .
Oh dear so Tesco's Indian and Chinese doesn't agree with you ,i hope the tummy's better so you can enjoy the roast pork .

Family came this morning now the roads are better ,little Lewis came in with great big tears in his eyes ,i said what ever is wrong and he said Chelea's been winding me up :-D i had to smile bless him .

Colin's sister is very poorly again she had infection in her tummy where they operated but she's been to weak for them to operate again now she has a bladder infection ,her son said it's not looking good for her .

Neil my nephew is still in hospital he's about half way through his antibiotics ,they have found that the pain he had in his shoulder and neck was a piece of the infection that had broken away from his heart and had gone into his vertebrae, so they are hoping that the antibotics he's having for the heart will treat that too .

Lazy afternoon planned here ,there is stew left from yesterday so i've just done lots of veg to have with it ,i always think stew takes so much better the next day .

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 4 Mar 2018 15:17

Soup does too Mandy. I have never heard of an infection breaking away and coming out somewhere else. I hope the antibiotics deal with it once and for all.

Well the sun keeps going in now and then out again so there must be clouds in the sky. Itsa all grey out the front. The ice on oh's big pond is going around in circles now with the flow from the filter.

Had our BB and now full up till tea time.

Frank you will know not to have those dinners again. Hope your tummy has settled down now so you can enjoy your roast pork.

Afternoon Everyone

The thaw is continuing but we still have a fair way to go .I dont think it will take too long now the temperature is up a bit.I have only just lit the fire but the heating is still on 24hrs.

Oops Frank! I wonder why the Russian neighbour accepted the flowers and kept them too !!. Surely they must have seen they werent meant for them. You wont be making that mistake again :-D Shame about your meals from Tesco last night. Were they the 'Finest' range or the normal ones? I have to say that the Finest range of meals have always gone down well here.(with no nasty after effects ;-) )

Mandy I am so sorry to hear that OH's Sister is not doing so well now. How old is she?
I am not sure about infection 'breaking off' exactly, maybe that was a simple way for the doctor to explain how the infection has spread in your Nephew. Hopefully the right antibiotics will soon sort things for him and he will be back on the road to recovery very soon.

Oh Bless little Lewis , being wound up by his big Sister LOL I wonder what she was doing . He has obviously picked the expression up from one of them :-D :-D. I expect there might be a fair bit of winding up between the children :-D :-D

I am doing Chicken Pie for tonight. It has Leeks and Mushrooms and I have added Asparagus too.Its the Pie I do with the Filo Pastry topping. Tarragon Carrots and Broccoli to go with it.
I think I know where Thomas is spending so much time out. Chris ssid he saw lots of Rabbits hopping around the bottom of next doors garden this morning :-S :-S
I haven't seen the RAT today :-D. That's not to say it hasn't been around though.

I must go to the surgery tomorrow and hand in this prescription for the new tablets. I am really not keen on taking any more different meds but Chris says I must ...so better do what the Doctor tells me :-D It is called Gabapentin .

Mel what will you have for tea tonight after having you Big Breakfast?
I think the fire looks like it might be out !!! I may have to chuck a fire lighter or two in to get it going properly again.

Hi everyone

I've not been able to get onto the last page all day, kept getting the error page so I'm having to post from the first page and hope it goes through okay.

I'll try again tomorrow, but thought I'd let you know I'm okay incase you all wondered where I was.

I hope this goes through.

Morning all

I see my message did go through last night.

I'm finishing off the decorating in the living room so I might not make it back on here today.

I haven't had a chance to catch up with the posts yet so will do that later or tomorrow.

Genes seems to be playing nicely for the thread today I managed to get on here first time. Let's hope it stays that way. I tried all day yesterday but just kept getting the error page. The only thing I could do was post from the first page and that even came up as an error, so I gave up in the end.

Hope everyone is okay, be back when the decorating is finished. <3

Good morning my little rose buds !!!,

It's getting to be a joke getting on here in the mornings. Not once these pass few days have I been able to get straight on.

Mandy, I think thats what children were put on the earth for. TO WIND EACH OTHER UP. I had it with my one two, and with Ros's two. Lewis has' any siblings, so he winds Ros and I and his Mum and dad up. Little Bu@@er.

Well the thaw has really get in. The only snow I can see now, is where people have stacked it up when clearing their drives.

I have spoken to Paul (MARY'S SON) this morning. He got the card from the Russian yesterday, and has taken hi Mum to the florist to pick up he flowers that he Russian returned. It would appear he did'n know Mary even though she's lived there over SIXTY YEARS.

The dinner was very nice last night, almost clear plates between us.That Chicken pie sounded nice Jane. Mel always has Cheese and Bickies Sunday evening after their BIG BREAKFAST.

Spring like day out there. Bright SUN with a little breeze. Roa has changed the bedding, So that might go out and get a blow. Better than the Tumble Dryer. That lovely fresh air smell. !!!

Time for a bit of toast and another cuppa, Then my shower, and BOOK. (HARD LIFE AIN'T IT) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Morning you lot of early birds,

we have brightness today. No the suns not really out but its trying but its still grey out to the north in the front.

No we did'nt have cheese and biccies last night. We hav'nt had them for a while now as it started to upset oh's tummy. I think it was the blue cheese that did it and he loves that too. I had pork cheese and pickle pies, some grapes and walnuts. Oh had scotch eggs and a pie and pasta salad.

Our oil should be delivered tomorrow as they could'nt do it before with the panic from people. I have to have the small tanker too as it has to get through the arch. The normal one will go through but they make a big faff about it. The arch into the garden was made big enough to get a fire engine through. Mum had that done while I lived here as before the one into the garden was only as big as the one through to the top garden.

There still a bit of snow about where it went into drifts but the rests gone completely. My pond still has ice on it but oh's cleared yesterday.

Frank at least the Russians sent the flowers back and it was good they kept the card and did'nt throw it away. Your sister did get it in the end bless.

Yes Mel, Paul her son sent me a photo of Mary with the flower in a vase on her lap. As I have said before I haven't seen Mary in the flesh for over FORTY YEARS. I just couldn't believe my eyes. It looked as though my Mother, and elder Sister Clara were sitting there looking at me. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Bins all out ready for tomorrow, and Ros has swept all the moss up that has come down off the roof.

Didn't put the washing out, as the lawn is sodden. So all sheets, pillow cases. dry and folded up ready to be put away. Ros has also washed our heavy dressing gowns, they are in the Tumble dryer now. with little smelly sheets. They always make the washing smell nice.

It's not as warm out as I imagined, but much better than the last few days.

Just going to have a coffee and a cream doughnut. What will it do to my figure !!!

Its pouring with rain now here.

Jane

Jane Report 5 Mar 2018 17:33

Afternoon All

Just starting to rain here a bit now Mel. I dont know if we are forecast much or not.Today is the first day for ages now that the heating hasn't been on all the time, and I havent lit the fire !!.

I had a little bit of road rage from a man today. I was stuck behind on of those council open back trucks with the metal caging around. We were in Regent St which is narrow anyway with cars parked on either side. The truck had to just stop to pick up an old settee and 2 chairs that were left outside a house. The gap between the truck and car on he other side of the road was going to be such a tight squeeze for me to get through I decided not to try as I didnt want to risk scraping mine or the parked car.plus part of the metal cage had been folded back on the side of the truck .So I patiently waited with cars behind me. Then a knock on my side window from a rather irate man saying a Bus could get through there!!. I said I wasnt will ing to risk damaging mine of the other car(plus my wing mirrors didn't fold completely in) He said he needed to get his son to school, and I said the men looked like they were nearly done so it would only be another minute. He said if I couldnt get through then I should not be driving !!!!!!!!!!!
Normally I would have just ignored anyone like that but out of my mouth came " OH Bog Off you silly man" !!.I then put my window up quick LOL Thankfully he didnt come back for more. Maybe he didnt expect a grey haired lady to answer him back :-D I have to say though I was glad when we got moving :-D. If he was that desperate he could have offered to see me through the gap. So that was my bit of excitement for today. I wouldnt like it every day though.I hate altercations but felt I wasnt going to be bullied into trying to squeeze through .I stuck my ground :-D :-D

Frank, how lovely to finally see a pic of your Sister and with her flowers too :-D :-D. I am so pleased the Russian took them back .I dod think though it is always a shame when neighbours living SO CLOSE never know eachother. It would not have been like back in the day would it. It must have been quite a shock to see how much she is like your Mum and other Sister. Did Clara and her look alike when they were children?

I just new that decorating would be done today Gill LOL Just hope you don't over do it today and set yourself back.

Frank that Chicken Pie was good last night.I forgot to say I also put fresh Tarragon in it too.
Beef Stroganoff tonight.
The rain is getting heavier now.

What a horrible man Jane! He'd had been spoken to more forcefully if it had been me! but perhaps you were right to keep your cool!!

Evening all,

What a difference in the weather ,it's been a lovely sunny day and like you Jane we haven't had any heating on although the fire is lit now .

What a rude man Jane i think i would have have said a few choice words to him too, some people carn't wait five minutes can they .
I don't know about you but if any thing happens like that to me i keep thinking about it all day .

Frank how lovely to see a photo of your sister with her flowers ,i bet it brought a tear to your eye .

We're hoping to get to the chocolate factory shop in the next few days ,i need to get some mini Easter eggs ready for the Easter egg hunt , the road to Fakenham was so bad with all the snow so i expect there will still be some banked up on the side of the road .

Colin's sister is very poorly now , she's 73 Jane ,all her organs seem to shutting down and the doctor told her daughter last night there's not much they can do for her , she's sleeping much of the time and they are keeping her pain free so that's the main thing .

Gill don't go and over do things doing the wallpapering ,i know you want to see it all done and looking nice but not if its going to wear you out and make you poorly again .

Mel you have been busy with your stitching ,it's a nice little purse you have all the stitching so even round the edge ,will that be put away for your craft stall ?
Not more rain for your poor girls run and it was beginning to dry out wasn't it ?

Oh Liz it was a tear jerker ,i didn't know they were going to kill her off .

Jane

Jane Report 5 Mar 2018 19:34

What is CTM ? Call the Midwife? Oh my goodness if that it what it was yes a real tear jerker. I held it together as long as possible as Chris was already in tears(he always crys at that programme). Once he left the room I let go. It was seeing the Nurse sat on the steps sobbing her heart out that got me. :-( :-( The top of my top was soaked as I kept having to wipe my eyes in it.

I am sorry about OH's Sister Mandy. She isn't that old 73 these days is nothing. I hope that if there is nothing now that can be done that she is just kept pain free and as comfortable as possible.
<3

I think I stood my ground with that man :-D :-D
Dishing up dinner now
