First on and it's after 11.00 am. Good morning to you all,
Jane I can understand your concern regarding the little Bu@@@r bringing in his dinner, to eat in the warm. LOL My old friend use to bring mice in and leave them under the dining room table. Sometimes there was a blood mark on the carpet, but not often.
No Anne, I don't eat Chocolate very often, so she will enjoy in on her own over a few days.
Another disastrous night last night. Ros came back from Choir practise and a coffee at Vals. around 10.30 pm I knew she would want o watch her SOAPS, so I went to bed. Still awake at 12.30. Came out and said "ARE YOU COMING TO BED TONIGH" Yes I am just coming. I laid again until 2.30 am and decided to get up. Sat and had two big Breakfast cups of tea, with a box of biscuits. Finally gave up and went back to bed at 5.00 am. I slept until 8.30. Got up, and feel an absolute wreck.
We are going shopping, well Ros is. I will get my haircut, then sit in Tesco until she comes out. Then it will be home for lunch, and a rest in he armchair. I try not to sleep during the day, but wonder if a cat nap might do me good.
I see that parts of the Country could expect 4 inches of SNOW over the weekend. I just hope it stays up NORTH. !! Sorry Gill xxx

You were not first on again Frank as my post is on the other page. Raspberry :-P.
Sorry you once again had a bad night. Do you think you sort of wait for Ros and then work yourself up so you can't sleep? Hope you have a nice time having your hair cut.
Not getting on very well this morning but must press on as I want to make some soup for lunch.

Good afternoon all
Sorry to hear you had another bad night Frank, have you got a spare bedroom that you could use now and again and once you know Ros is home safely you could go to bed without any disturbance. We had twin beds put together as Peter suffered from restless legs which to me was much worse than snoring, when we went to our static caravan we had separate rooms Unless we had family staying. Nothing worse then having no sleep more often then not. I find taking 3 Quiet Life tablets really helps me sleep.
One of my many nieces has given up her job as a Strangeways Prison officer as she was finding it too much to handle as this was her first job in the service it seem a bit harsh starting her off there. Her elder sister with Downs has just been confirmed as suffering from Alzheimers she is only 52 the same age as Richard, they had suspected it but it has now been confirmed.
Bo my eldest SIL has now seen the last of the snow at one point she couldn't get out of her front door and people had to walk in the middle of the road as it wasn't clear where the pavements ended, as she lives in Leominster which is very close to the Welsh border it wasn't surprising..
Ruby has only just finished eating her chicken the reason she has finished it was she saw the sheep dogs on television and thought they were after her food she has done this before when other dog shows have been on.

Anne, I take Quiet Life now and again if I'm having trouble sleeping and they work for me really well. Might be worth a try Frank. We had a lovely evening putting the world to rights! Supper was lovely and the visit went really well. Miserable old day, started raining at lunch time and hasn't stopped since!!

Afternoon All It has just started raining here after what has been quite a pleasant day. James picked Jess up from the station at 3 and they will eat at 5 and then set off for Sheffield. Thomas's face was a sight to see when he saw Jess. He immediately went on alert and started stalking around expecting Benjy to suddenly pounce LOL But there is no Benjy this time so I have told him just to chill :-D
Frank what are we going to do with you and your sleepless nights!!!.It must be really draining for you. I hope all this lack of sleep isnt making you too grumpy and short tempered. I know I get like that if I have too many broken nights.
Gill, Chris had to go in the loft the other day and said there was some snow up there where it had blown in. Maybe this is what has caused your wet patches on the ceiling. But what Mandy makes sense too about having a vent or two to get a bit of air flowing up there.
Mel I agree that the dank weather makes you feel like not doing much.Lets hope we soon get a decent spell of fine weather that will give us all a bit of a boost.
Anne ,I can understand your Neice finding it hard in the Prison Service and deciding to leave. Hannah worked at Onley Prison near here as a Drugs?Addictions worker and there were many times she told me how much the Prison Officers had to cope with . Partly because there werent enough of them. I am sorry that her Sister has had that Diagnosis.I know you mentioned the other week that it was looking likely this would be the diagnosis and with being Downs too. Why is life so darned cruel sometimes :-S This is going to be tough for her family now.Does she live at home?
I wonder how Janice and Larry have enjoyed their day at Crufts :-DThey would have been up at the crack of dawn this morning to get there the minute it opened. I was watching Crufts extra just now with Alan Carr and Claire Balding. Massage and Classical music for dogs :-D I have been wrapping presents ready to take to Hannah on Sunday. Just one more to do but I need some tissue paper to help stop this lovely top creasing. I will get some from the post office in the morning.
It looks like the rain is getting a bit heavier now.I hope it isn't setting in for the night yet as Thomas will be wanting ot go out again at some point. There was a very thick mist first thing this morning again but low lying .It looked quite pretty over the fields at the front.
5 o'clock now.So I will get on with J&J's dinner.

They have gone now. I had a good chat with Jess to find out what she will actually be doing at Sheffield Uni for the week. She will be collecting Data from skeletons from Medieval times .Ages from 3 -35. Sounds fascinating to me :-D. All the skeletons have come from various cemeteries .She did say though that it is boxes of bones rather than whole skeletons.
I still haven't seen Quite Life .Only Nytol and Kalms. I would never take Night Kalms again as they gave me nightmare dreams and a racing heart. I just wonder if with the sleepers that Frank takes they might not be suitable .
Time now to sort our dinner. The Chicken in Honey and Mustard Sauce is done (thats what J&J had.So all I need to do now is rice and veg. Still raining. Thomas poked his nose out the back door but got no further .

So sorry to hear about your neice Anne. Its such a cruel disease Alzheimers. Is there just the two children and are they both at home.
I have spent most of the day putitng my beads away and sorting some. I did'nt realize it took so long. I also sorted some for my next project. I have packed away all the craft things I bought to make things for Christmas next year if I have a stall.
I am still looking for my black beading cotton and have looked everywhere I can think of. I think I last had it when I made those hedgehogs for Mandy's girls. I really have no idea where I put it and I am so carefull with it usually. I can find the white and the gold and they are the only other two colours I have. I think I shall go to the bead cellar tomorrow and buy some more then it will turn up right under my nose, I know it!
Mandy we did'nt see the last lots of dollies clothes you knitted. Have you made anything else lately?
I see Gardeners World was on tonight so I shall watch that on catch up later. Did'nt have to cook tonight as oh had toasted cheese sandwiches and I had cheese on toast.

The skeletons sound fascinating Jane! What an interesting week Jess will have. Oh dear, that's awful about your niece Anne. I hope things aren't too difficult for her. I think you can only get Quiet LIfe on line Jane. You could once get them at a chemist but last time I tried, I couldn't find them, only on line! I find them very effective.. We're in bed having both just watched the programme about Vladimir Putin. What a sinister chap he is!!

Morning all
Genes seems to be playing up again and I can't get to the last page.
We're still trying to sort out the loft, just a few more bits to get down but we've ran our of space to put everything, so I'm going to have to move some things around to try and make more space to put the rest of the stuff in the spare room.
Poor OH's brother ended up in hospital and had to have a brain scan yesterday so OH is going to ring his mum later to find out how he got on, as a result of ending up in hospital he hasn't been able to have his further Chemo yet, not sure when he'll be having it now.
I had a bad migraine all day yesterday which is why I wasn't on here and also why I couldn't do much work around this place. I'm hoping to finish things off today as I don't want to be working on Mother's Day.
I contacted the roofers yesterday and they are coming to take a look on Wednesday, we're hoping they can do a temporary fix on the leaks until we can have the whole roof done.
It's been raining all through the night so I dread the think how much more water has come into the loft. OH is going to get our tarpaulin and put down where the water is coming through on the hall ceiling in the hope it'll catch some of the rain. He said he can then go up there on a daily basis and use a sponge to get the water up, put it in a bucket and bring it down here to throw away.
Well, I'd better go and start moving some stuff around. I'll try and get back on here later if I can.
I hope everyone is okay as I can't read any of the latest posts. I just hope this goes through and I don't get the error page again.

Morning all,
It rained here most of the day and evening. I looked out at one point and the grass under the big ash tree was flooded so I went out and the water was coming down the road like a river bypassing the drain hole and going past into the orchard. I had to get my boots on and go and clear the drain cover of bits of twig and leaves from the box hedge. It started rushing down the drain then.
Not that nice here today as its dull but I don't think its so cold out. I hav'nt ventured out there yet.
Egg delivery to do and pick up my paper this week. I was lost last week without it. I don't get on with the programs on the telly guide and Ecko only gives you bbc and a few programs on other stations.

Oh dear Gill, I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear about your B in L. What a terrible worrying time this is for you all. I'm sure the hospital will keep him comfortable and know how best to support him. All you can do is just try to keep things in perspective and deal with each situation as it arises. Easy to say, I know, but not so easy to do! <3 I think it's a good idea to get a roofer to look at your roof. It could well be something reasonably straight forward that won't necessitate having the whole roof re done; fingers crossed! Dull old day here so I'm going to clean some copper this morning. This afternoon we may go to the Point to Point and meet up with some local friends. Cas will be in her element!!

Good morning to you all,
HAD A GRET NIGHT'S SLEEP last night. :-D :-D :-D :-D In fact when Ros got up at 8.20 I turned over and went back into a deep sleep until 9.30. Dreaming of a party with all my family there. I'm not with it yet, wandering round like a lost soul. lol lol.
Sorry to hear the bad news Anne, id there any treatment, or let things take their course. ?? I can understand your niece getting out of the Prison Service. You are forever hearing of attacks taking place on prison officers.
Enjoy your Point to Point Liz, Haven't been to one ever. I have seen them advertised, and think, that would be nice, but as yet not been. Can will be in her element, as there are always people at these events with there dogs. I saw on FLOG IT yesterday, small dogs sitting on peoples laps during the auction.!!
We had all that rain yesterday, what a dismal day it was. This morning it's very cloudy and wouldn't be surprised to see more rain.
I assume you have done the egg and paper run Mel. How far is the shop from your place.??
Gill, Make sure you have a roofer you can trust. Some of them will say you need a new roof, when in fact you only need a couple of slates fitting. You see so much of it with these T.V. Programmes. BE CAREFUL PLEASE. !!!
Ros is busy doing HW as she's not out with Martine, and having the family coming tomorrow, before and after we go out to lunch. I will just keep out of the way.
Off for shower so see you later Bye for now xxx

Good morning all
Raining here today but not cold.
You can get Quiet Life at Holland & Barrett, I've just checked on line and they have an offer of buy one and get another at half price at the moment. They cost £4,99 so not expensive anyway.
Pleased to see you had a good nights sleep for a change Frank it must make you feel so much better.
Jess's work with the reviewing the skeletons at Sheffield Uni. must be very interesting Jane. I had to smile at Thomas expecting to see Benji our two have the same reaction about entering a room with Ruby in it but they have the conservatory as their safe haven.
So sorry to hear the sad news about your BIL Gill what a worrying time for all the family. Perhaps you could get more than one quote for having your roof sorted as the others have said so many cowboys out there. You should be covered by your House insurance I would have thought anyway
Rachel my niece is now living back home with her Mum after leaving the Prison service, Sarah is married but Carol, her Mum visits everyday as she has to make sure she takes her tablets and she also does the shopping for her and her husband. Carol who is 71 has a lot on her plate as her 87 year old mother who is very demanding lives close by.
We have been watching the sea rescue programme at 7 o'clock one of my Crittenden nephews, Matt is station manager at the Littlestone on sea life boat RNLI and his 2nd wife Heather is a crew member, they are on line under Crew - Littlestone on Sea, RNLI.
Liz I hope Cas enjoys her afternoon at the point to point and the rain has stopped by then.
I have read a sad story on line about a dog that wont move from outside of the hospital where his owner was taken after being murdered, I shred a few tears after seeing it, a bit like Grey Friars Bobby. :-(

Yes, I would echo what Frank has advised Gill! Do be careful, there are so many rogues out there! OH has gone to get Merlin in, then we shall have a quick sandwich and be on our way! weather doesn't look particularly brilliant but it'll be nice to go out other than shopping!!! Glad you had a good night Frank, you sound quite perky! ;-) Better get on else I'll be nagged at!! Thanks for the info about the Quiet Life Anne. I'll know where to go now!!

Afternoon Everyone Gill,I hope the brain scan doesnt show up anything nasty like secondaries :-(. I am guessing he will be kept in hospital for now and hopefully he will be well enough soon to carry on with his Chemo. It must be such a worrying time for his Mum ,your OH and all the family.
So at last Frank you had a great nights sleep :-D. I bet that has done yot the world of good. I hope Ros hasnt decided to go to Tesco It is bedlam in ours with hundreds of Dads and children buying flowers and gifts for Mothering Sunday. Also many middle aged people buying flowers too for Eldery Mothers. It was a struggle to get through the door as all the flowers and gifts are just at the front of the store as you go in. Barely a parking space to be found and getting out was a nightmare too. Some poor man had been taken ill (I think in the Mens Toilet) The ambulance arrived at the same time as me and was still there when I left.So that must have been an hour.
I was mad to even go today ,but I just hadnt thought about it being so busy. On the way there I saw the homeless man Steve walking up the road. He looked pretty rough and I think he older than I thought. I normally only ever see him sitting outside the Co-op.He seems to have quite a stoop. It did make me feel for him looking so dishevelled today.
Anne what a job the lifeboat people do. I really admire them. Chris always donates to RNLI Oh that little dog! :-(.. I am glad I didnt read about it otherwise I would have been a sobbing wreck.
Point to Point for Cas this afternoon. She will enjoy herself there LOL
Hannah and Gareth are having lunch out as it is her Birthday today. It looks a very quirky cafe called EDITH'S HOUSE in Crouch end. You can see it on Google .Each part is a room of a house. I think I wouldnt fancy eating my afternoon tea or whatever I had sitting on the loo lol it doesnt look too comfortable. H&G had a normal table for a Big Full Breakfast for Gareth and some rather delicious pancakes for Hannah. They are off to an Evening Wedding do tonight so a full on day. I hope they dont have big hangovers tomorrow morning when we go :-D Chris is working out a route now for us to do to get there. He always frets and gets a bit wound up so I am staying well out of the way at the moment.
Mel have the Girls used the litter tray yet? Will you just take it out again if they dont use it after so long?
It is a funny day weatherwise. VERY mild, but with a bit of rain . It did rain all night and was still raining when you know who got me up just before 5. He did go out though which surprised me.I quickly shut the door before he changed his mind :-D then went back to bed and watched the remaining part of Shetland on the laptop. Nodded off again after that until Chris woke me with a cup of tea just after 7!! I asked why he was up so early . He was off to pick up a parcel from the Post Office in town as the parcel office opened at 7. I watched At Home with James Martin before I went out. I just love that programme.Plus I think I am ln love with James Martin :-D :-D

I can't seem to get to the last page, I keep getting the error page, so I'll try again later. I even tried updating Java and going on Google but nothing seems to work. I have reported it to Genes, but I doubt it'll make any difference.
I hope everyone else can get on. I'm having to post from the first page so I've not been able to read any posts.
The loft is now empty and OH has put lots of plastic down to catch any rain that's coming in so just the hoovering and polishing to do then I'm having a bath and getting something to eat. I haven't eaten all day and I'm starving.
I did have something good happen today, I went to check if the rubbish we chucked back over the fence at the back was still there and they hadn't chucked it back over to us and it looks like they have finally cleared away their own rubbish. So I'm really chuffed.
OH's brother didn't have his brain scan in the end as he is to ill, he had to have the doctor out to him at home. He's in a lot of pain so the doctor has given him some stronger pain killers. Not sure when he's having his scan now, or if the doctor will put him on morphine soon. The Macmillan Nurses are going to his everyday now.
Well, I'd better go and do the cleaning. I hope I can get back on here at some point and the error page stops happening, I've been trying for a while now and only managed to get to the last page once :-(
Do you think the thread is to big now as I seem to be able to get onto the smaller ones without any trouble at all? Just a thought.

Glad to hear though that the rubbish didn't come back over the fence to you :-D I have trouble just getting onto GR not just the thread .I keep getting the error message when I post. Evening all,
It's been a really mild day here we just had a few spits of rain at lunch time ,like you Jane i went to Tesco this morning as DIL told me the Large Chickens were £2-25 instead of £4-50 so off i went, well it was just like christmas ,plenty of parking spaces but you couldn't get to them with all the cars trying to get off the car park ,what doesn't help is if the trains are running it makes the traffic build up while they cross the road , plenty of chickens so i got two for us and two for DIL ,the young girl on the till said that some one came up to the till with twelve chickens !!!!
Gill i'm so sorry to hear about your BIL ,such a worry for you all , i hope they can ease his pain and make him comfortable so he can perhaps have his scan .
Oh Anne i read about that little dog too ,did you see the picture of him laying on his blanket near the hospital door it brought tears to my eyes and i just had gave Max a good hug .
So your homeless man didn't look so good today then Jane ,i wonder if he managed to get in some where when the snow came . Have a lovely time tomorrow ,what time do you leave in the morning ? Oh yes James Martin ,i love him too :-D :-D
I'm going to Google Edith's House now
