Evening all who are still around.
Sorry to hear about Colin's sister Mandy. 73 isn't that old. Same age as Ros. and she does so much for a woman her age.
Jane I can just imagine you, 5 foot nothing giving that chap a mouthful , GOOD ON YOU. I bet he wondered who he had got involved with. Mrs BUCKET. lol lol. (RICHARD).
We had the rain all afternoon too. Ros decided to sort out the flowers, and who had the job of going to the bin in the rain. ??
I was going down the pub to watch the football. But with all the rain about, I decided against it. I didn't want to drag Ros out in the rain TWICE,
Marbella is on, but as I haven't got into it. I will spend a little time on here, then get a early night with my radio.
I trust you haven't overdone things Gill. I knew you wouldn't be able to leave the decorating alone for long.
I have been thinking of Mary tonight. Seeing how she has aged into a 83 year old grandmother. So much like the females who survived into old age in the family. It also bought my TWIN SISTER to mind. Having lost her to Cancer at such a young age. I am pleased to say that TWO of us out of TEN have survived until now. THANK GOD.
I'm getting a bit morbid now, so I had better get of to bed. See you all in the morning. SLEEP TIGHT. GOD BLESS.

Morning all,
Bright sunny morning here and really quite warm out.
I shall be going shopping today as by now we need quite a lot of things. I hav'nt been out for a week now only walked to Em's with the eggs so I am hoping my car will start. It should do with all the money I have just spent on it.
Oh is fiddling around with his car and the battery at the moment.
The oil should come today so thats MORE EXPENSE!!!
Hope you are all feeling better to and that Gill has'nt overdone it again with the wallpapering and that Frank had a good nights sleep.

Good morning Mel, and all.
Yes thanks Mel, I got settled down later than expected. I watched the first part of D.C.I Banks, so didn't go early 11.00 pm. Slept through to 7.00 am I let Ros lay in the land of NOD. until 8.30.
She had to take Brian to Hospital at 10.30 to have his Cataracts done. She will pick him up when he able to come home. I expect that will be later this afternoon.
Ros has decided I need more Trousers, so she will go and get me some while she's out. She also has a fair list of things we need from Tesco. I don't expect to see her before 2.00 pm.
Bins all emptied this morning and bought back in. I looked in the Green Bin and that needs a good clean, it still has grass cuttings stuck to the bottom. !!!
I had my SIL Fran on the phone yesterday afternoon Steven's Mum. She was staging off her DIL, who has been separated from Steven for over 11 years. He still has'nt changed his mailing address, so everything goes to his wife. It appears she is the "LOCAL BIKE" in both Woodford and Wanstead, another town 5 miles away. It would appear the two daughters are just like their mother. Fran was on the phone for over an hour. I am so pleased I am well away from all that's going on. They seem to live a totally different like to me and Ros.
Quiet sort of day outside. Slight breeze, and I think it feels a lot warmer. No plans this end today.
Ros is making her "BOILED ONION ROLL" for dinner tonight. Stewing meat, onions and potatoes in a suet pastry and boiled in the big saucepan for three hours. I've got everything ready for her for when she gets home. I've given myself a "GOLD STAR" LOL LOL.
On the list I have put down an "EASTER EGG" from me to you, with love. I bet she will smile when she reads that.
Coffee and book time now, me thinks.

What a lovely message Frank! We always give each other little gifts now and again, just to keep the candle alight!! I appreciate that much more than the obligatory present at prescribed times! It's always nice to know you're appreciated Not a bad morning here a walk with Cas is my next job, she loved the snow, but I think will appreciate it being a bit dryer! Must hang some washing! OH will do it for me, so probably in! Shopping tomorrow as M is coming to supper on Thursday, and he does eat! OH will give me a hand so not too arduous!

Brian rang, wanting a lift back from hospital, while Ros was still out shopping. I rang her mobile and low and behold SHE ANSWERED IT. First time ever I think. She was on her way home, so turned round and went back to collect him.
Would you ADAM AND EVE IT. Instead of getting the SUET out I got a bag of PANCAKE MIX. (not that I would ever use it) I have no idea what it is doing in the cupboard. ???
I thought my hearing was playing up when the news was on. Girls at school wanting FREE Sanitary wear. Never heard such bunkum in my life. !!!Sorry but it gets my hackles up. I'm sure there's not the poverty around now the there was in days gone by. But families always managed. What next. Free cloths and shoes for everyone ???
Yes Liz I bet Cas enjoyed a dry walk instead of playing in the snow. I see in the paper that Cadbury's had to close production due to burst pipes and a shortage of water. We just don't seem to be able to cope with weather in this Country.
My eyes are playing up, I have had to try THREE different pairs of glass's to be able to read the paper. The last pair I had seem to be the best.
All moans and groans this afternoon. SORRY.

Afternoon All I have seen trolleys of Easter Eggs going out lately. I think a lot of them have been half price or buy 3 for the price of 2. I hope Ros buys a lovely big one Frank :-D I know it is daft but I always get James a Yorkie Egg .I know he is 32 but he has always had Yorkies and it now a bit of a tradition LOL .
Frank, have you seen the cost of Sanitary products? For some girls and ladies this can be a real problem.I saw a programme no too long ago about this and there was one lady who had dreadful periods and could not afford to buy all she needed .So she stayed at home for a couple of days a month and had to use items of clothing like socks, so that she still had money for food.I do think these products could be free for certain people but the price needs to come down.I think there has been MPs trying to work on the Tampon Tax and get the price down. I still remember my Dad buying Mum's STs .She would never get them herself !. He would walk all the way back from the local store with the pack wrapped in Newspaper tucked under his arm :-D On a different note :-D Its been quite a decent day here. Quite bright with a little bit of sun. Bit it is feeling nippy now. I see next door has a big bonfire going now. I never know quite what they burn as it always smells terrible. I am pretty sure they must burn a lot of household rubbish including plastic which I think is the horrible plasticky stink. :-S :-S. It is the night for putting the black bins out too . I bet that their bin isn't out tonight !!!
My back and Sciatica has been a right b***** today. It is doing my head in now :-S. I slapped a heat patch on just now as it is not time to take any more painkillers.
I have just taken dinner out of the oven and popped it in the top oven to keep hot. It is a whole Chicken with a herb butter spread under the skin( made by me :-D)Cooked in one pan with the Chicken sat on the potatoes, channtery carrots, baby leeks, garlic cloves ,Thyme,Bay Leaf and white wine.I have never done a chicken sat on potatoes and veg before. I made a right old mess trying to get the herb butter under the skin.I kept making holes in the skin which I ended up using a couple of skewers to hold it all in place lol. It smell s good so hopefully will taste good and that the chicken is not too dry.I will do green beans and frozen peas .
Caught up with Marcella this afternoon ,and 24hrs in Custody .I think it is Shetland tonight.

I can't seem to get into Shetland. OH loves it so I must persevere or go to sleep!! Yes I gather sanitary wear is quite an expense these days. My two granddaughters cost their mother a small fortune!! It's been lovely and sunny here today, so we've managed to have a good tidy up after the perambulations of the water crisis!! After that we both went for a walk with Merlin and Cas. She's done really well today as we've been outside a lot! We could both do with losing some weight so we've decided not to give each other Easter eggs! I think it'll just be grandchildren that hit the jackpot this year!! We haven't given them to M and L for donkeys years!! OH is getting supper, fried rice with chicken, prawns and omelette with a side salad. Should be good! Sorry about your leg Jane. I've got a vibrator, (no laughter please!!) I've used it on my poorly leg and I think it does help! + a heated bean bag! Has anyone seen the little deaf girl who's won an Oscar? We watched her this evening, and she is one plucky little maid.

Sheesh Liz ,LOL I nearly fell off my chair with your comment about having a vibrator :-D :-D. I guess it is a Tens or something similar? Yes what a lovely thing that lttle girl getting an Oscar :-D :-D So young and such an achievement !. Dinner all done and cleared away now. It was ok but not that great .So I will swipe that one from my recipe book. I can shut the back door now as Thomas has just come in.I think I will go and get ready for bed and Shetland ( I am finally getting into this)

:-D Jane!! Actually it's like a small battery hair dryer with various head attachments, that you can turn on and run over your poorly muscles/tendons to massage them. It works really well and gives some relief, along with a beany bag! I bought it years ago when I had my first sciatica attack. Shetlands on, must pay attention!

Good morning Mel, and all my ladies, lol lol.
Lovely sunshine here also but still a nip in the air, from the breeze.
Had another terrible night. Went in at 10.00 pm had my radio on for a while, then tried to settle. Roa came in 12.30 am I was still awake. I waited till she dropped off (MINUTES) and I got up and read until 4.00 am. Was awake and up again by 7.30.
Liz I was almost of my seat with laughter. But quite understood what you meant !!! We have those bags that you heat in the Microwave, They are great for neck and shoulder pain. Roa also has a tens machine somewhere in the cupboard, which has been a great help with her back.
Jane the Chicken sounded nice, it's a pity you didn't think much to it, after all that prep. What time did Thomas (HIS LORDSHIP) have you up this morning to go out ???
Tos is t the hairdressers at Mid day so I expect she will be gone for two/three hours. My haircut takes 10 minutes TOPS !!! ;-) ;-) ;-)
I heard from Ann this morning asking for a copy of my Sister with her flowers. I think I have managed to do it. No doubt she will let me know if she has.
No plans at this end today. Just my shower, and book and a look around the internet/ebay and FaceBook.
Hope everyone is WELL. See you soon. xxx

Sunny here today. Makes a nice change.
Sorry I haven't been on here for a while OH's brother hasn't been very well and is having more Chemo so we've been at MIL's for a few days. Hence the living room still needs finishing off so that's what I'm doing today.
I haven't had a chance to catch up with the posts yet so hope everyone is okay. I'll try and get back on here later when I finished the two alcoves, if not, then tomorrow.

Hi Frank. It seems its the same here as you have there. That breeze is a bit chilly still. We had a short sharp shower just now. The sky came over looking very purple but then it passed quickly and the sun never really went in.
Now what shall I do now? Clean the rest of the bathroom, do some ironing or look for something else to make????

Do nothing like me Mel. Not having a breakfast AGAIN, and Ros at the hairdressers, I made myself a ham sandwich and opened a tin of Tomato soup. Very nice it was too.
Have been bidding on a bracelet for Martines Birthday. I was winning unto the last THREE SECONDS, then some B@@@@r out bid me. :-P :-P So I will have to look again when Ros is home. There are lots to choose from, but that will be down to MADAM. !!!!
The sunshine is really nice now. Clear blue sky with fluffy white clouds. Looks warm enough to have a walk. But don't think I will. Feel more like have a nap. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Back to my book which I am well into. So another one one for Tony soon !!!!

Afternoon All Gill I hope the Chemo goes well for OH's Brother and that he is not too ill with the side effects.
Firstr miaowing this morning Frank was 4am ! I just put my hand out over the side ofthe bed and gave him a rub and then ignored him.He must have gone off somewhere for a little while and then he was back just after 5 ,so I let him out then.At least I seem to be able to go back to sleep once i get back to bed.It is just a flipping pain though. Roll on the winter again with the dark nights and mornings.I might not get disturbed :-D :-D He has just come in now after legging it earlier when we had to do his flea treatment.I know he will go out again later. My Neighbour 2 doors down said that she saw him crossing the field(it is actually their garden but just a very long stretch of grass) with a Rabbit hanging from his mouth :-S.He must carry them such a long way!
How long do you have to get a Bracelet for Martine Frank? I bet you will still manage to find another lovely one.
Yes the Chicken dinner last night was a bit of a let down. There was nothing wrong but was just nothing special .The Chicken with all that lovely Herb Butter was really nice ,tasty and moist but I think it was the veg that seemed a bit bland. I have made that Meatloaf for tonight. So that is all ready to just put in the oven now.
Chris is doing the ironing :-D :-D. I did say I would do it but I did a lot of hoovering and then could hardly stand up ,so I think he took pity on me :-D I didn't argue LOL. I think it is very cold outside now. It's been quite a nice sunny afternoon and so Chris did some pruning of the Rose Bushes.I think we could possibly get a little more winter weather tomorrow :-S I must collect my prescription tomorrow But I am not going to start taking them until after the weekend as we will be with Hannah and Gareth on Sunday and I dont want to have any unwanted side effects then. Plus it would be nice to enjoy a glass or two of wine to celebrate her Birthday and I am not sure if I can drink when taking the tablets .
We had the window cleaner just before all the snow came. You should see the state of them now !!!!!!! A right mess :-S That was a waste of £27 :-S AND some mucky pup has pooped all down the window where the bird feeder is stuck on. I'll sort that bit tomorrow as it is not a pleasant sight. Just going to have a hunt now for the Birthday card I bought for Hannah . It has vanished :-S :-S

Evening all,
<3 Happy birthday Shirl <3 hope you've had a lovely day .
We had rain first thing and it's been quite dull and chilly here ,we nipped to Tesco's and got a bit of shopping and i was glad to get home out of the rain . Our green bin was emptied yesterday it should have been emptied last wednesday but with the weather they couldn't work ,the black recycling bin went out this morning so i expect it will be a day or two before that gets emptied as they will have a lot of catching up to do .
What a shame you didn't get the bracelet Frank , when is the birthday ? will you have time to look for another ? Sounds as ii your getting through your books .
At least you enjoyed the chicken Jane it did sound tasty with all the herby butter . Is it time to prune roses now ,i never quite know when to start pruning ,the old rose that was my Nannies needs a good prune ,it's a rambler and i'm never sure if it should be pruned or not ,there is quite a bit of dead stuff that i need to cut from underneath . Your right about the windows Jane that snow has left them in a heck of a mess ,they look like they have dust all over them or misted up ,i think tomorrow should be a better day so i'll see if i can clean some .

Jus popping in before beddy byes. T.V. has been absolutely rubbish tonight. We have the Vet Programme recorded so will watch that sometime tomorrow.
Martines birthday is next month. I have lost out on three more bracelets this evening. Whoever these BU@@@S are the are catching me out in the last few seconds. Next time I will put in a bigger bid and see where it goes.
Glad Ruby is O.K. Anne. It is horrible with an ear infection. My Black poodle had to have an operation on her ear, because of trouble. It never was the same.
I see THOMAS is keeping you on your toes Jane. We always had and still have a cat flap. So he could come and go as he liked. Have you tried him with one ??? £27,00 is a lot for window cleaning. How often do you have them done. ??

I have not done any of the things I said in my post except play today. I have made a little brooch I saw in my magazine and liked so I copied it sort of. Its taken me all day to make with lunch in between and dinner. I cooked a chicken casserole with button mushrooms, leeks and bacon and a tin of chicken soups with a knob of butter and some black pepper. I used thighs as I find them nice and tender. Fried them off first and the bacon. Oh had rice and I had a jacket tato with mine.
