I thought I'd let you know I might not be on here for a few days, it looks like I've got flu. I'm really achy and shivery, been dosing myself up with Beechams all day, not that it works for very long. I thought I'd have a hot lemon one before bed in the hope it will help me sleep.

If I don't manage to get back on here I hope you all have a lovely Easter <3 <3

A dull but dry morning here.No doubt the rain will be back !
James is in the loft clearing lots of his old stuff for the skip. I bet we will all be sneezing now with all the dust that will be brought down :-S

Just had a phone call from Hannah in Paris. Gareth has proposed :-D :-D :-D. I am waiting for a pic of the ring.

Gill, I hope you aren't feeling any worse today.A day curled up on the sofa watching some films might be just the thing.

I had some Easter Egg late last night .. It was just looking at me asking to be eaten :-D

WHAT GREAT NEWS JANE. Please pass on my best wishes to the HAPPY COUPLE. So there is a CHANCE that you will be a GRANDMA SOMETIME. xxxx

Another miserable morning here, I expect we will see the rain before the morning is out. I hope it stays dry, as I would like to walk to the pub for the football at 12.30 K.O.

Poor you Gill. I find a good remedy for a cold in hot water, lemon and a shot of whisky. If you have enough of it, it might not clear your cold, but boy do you feel good !!!! lol

Ros is meeting Martine a little later this morning, as she rang say she has to pop out.

Roa ended up doing a Turkey STIR FRY last night. She had bought a new pot of ASIAN SEVEN SPICE. (never tried it before) Boy did it blow your head off, needless to say it (the spice) ended up in the bin.

I have only ever eaten FISH FINGERS once in my life. I think I have related the story before, so won't go down that road.

Naughty girl CAS, but I can't blame her not wanting to get her bum wet. WOULD YOU ??? ;-) ;-)
My 4.00 am toilet break woke me again this morning, then I clock watched until Ros got up. I was just getting comfy when she bought in my COT. So I drank that and got up.

Jonathan is popping round about 11.30 to move this big heavy mirror from of the mantle piece, so that Ros can put her Mother's Day present from Conrad and Jan in it's place. Where the mirror will go now I do not know. :-| :-| :-| More wall drilling when Harvey comes up. !!!

Thanks Jane, I thought I recognised Victoria, but couldn't place her, with her cloths on. !!!

Say dry if you are going out, and stay warm in doors. Look out for the SNOW on Monday. Typical Easter Bank Holiday. These outside events will certainly feel the pinch, no doubt about that.

I can't believe it's STILL raining!! OH has just got back from Waitrose where it was heaving!! What we haven't got now we will have to go without!
I thought Gareth had already proposed? Anyhow congratulations to the happy couple.
Just done ANOTHER load of hateful washing!! that should be it now for a day or two!! thank goodness I don't have to iron it as almost everything we have these days including bed linen is 'easy care' which doesn't need ironing! It's certainly one job I've been more than happy to abandon!!

Well the usual Easter weather here, pouring with rain and running down the road like a river. The poor chickens are paddling again and it blowing too and cold with it. So much for global warming!

Usual shop today and then drop the boys Easter presents off and the wreath down the church. The rest of the day will be for myself apart from do the chickens later and then shutting them in tonight.

I had a go at another felting project yesterday evening. I have started another hare gazing at the moon designed by myself.

I am so sorry you have the flu Gill. Look after yourself and have a day of the tv with Sandra and oh. I am sure you have loads on the planner to watch. Stay safe and warm and don't eat too much chocolate. <3

Frank I hope Harvey gets to you soon so he can do thosse little jobs he promissed to do. Its so annoying when people say they are coming and then don't turn up.

Oh is cross with the weather as he wants to get on with his mower deck and he can't do it inside as he is taking all the rust off it and it has to be done outside in the air so he can breath and not breath in the dust he is causing. He comes in cover in red dust strips off and goes in the shower.

Whilst clearing out a small thing I keep my papers in yesterday I came across this and it still made me laugh. I think I have sent it to you all before. I came across it in the church in Black Torrington years ago when I was bell ringing and just had to write it down.

So far today I am doing alright.
I have not gossiped, lost my temper, been gready, grumpy, nasty, selfish or self indulgent.
I have not whined, complained, cursed or eaten any chocolate. I have charged nothing on my credit card.

But I will be getting out of bed in a minuet and I think I will really need your help then.

Good afternoon all

It's a lot brighter here today but still a little chilly

I woke up this morning thinking I had a runny nose which turned out to be a nose bleed, so I have all my bedding in the wash as it looked like it had been bleeding for a little while, this went on for some time but has stopped now thank goodness. Never had one before so it was quite a shock.

Congratulations to Hannah & Gareth ,Jane you must be very happy for them.

So sorry to read about the sad news you had about Simon, Frank.

Richard is now in Kings Lynn for a week staying at Ingoldisthorpe Hall one of English Country Cottages properties it sleeps 18 so is rather large, John is having his Op on Tuesday so I don't think they will be going on Holiday.

I hope you soon feel better Gill have a good rest and look after yourself

That was an amusing little "prayer" Mel, hope we can all keep to it.

I haven't got around to reading all the post yet, yesterday after reading them I entered a quite long post and then lost it

That made me chuckle Mel!! Finished cooking the veg for tomorrow. OH will be responsible for cooking the turkey and all that goes with it. I shall clear up!! A reasonably fair division of labour!! :-S
I think this horrible weather is all part of global warming and that in the future we can expect extremes of weather one way or the other!

No Gareth hadn't proposed before.But he did ask Chris if he had no objections to them being married at some point.(I think that is probably what you are remembering).
I will sent a pic of the ring. Gareth designed and had it made and it was ready just in time as he only picked it up on Tuesday afternoon just before they went to Paris on Wednesday !! So a close shave lol.

This weather today is odd.One minute it is dry and bright and then there will be a shower so nothing will get done outside.I have just put a bottle of Bubbly in the fridge to chill for later when we will toast H&G and I will take a pic of with the glasses and sent it to them.

Frank it sounds as you will be running out of wall space LOL .I can't remember what Ros's Mothers Day present was that will be going up in place of the mirror.

Last night just before I went to bed I took out the beef and small Lamb Rack from the freezer thinking it was Easter Sunday today !. When I came down at 5 this morning to let Thomas out I realised I was a day ahead and stuck it all back in the freezer.Luckily it was still frozen :-D.

Afternoon all,

It's been raining here all day ,just hope it's dry tomorrow for the chidrens Easter Egg hunt in the garden .
We've had Katie staying here for the last two days ,Lacey came the first day with Katie but didn't want to stay the night so we popped her home , it certainly wears you out trying to keep them amused ,even Max has been tired with having Katie here and has been fast asleep most of the morning .
They come tomorrow for the egg hunt and then on Monday they are all here for Lunch.

Jane that lovely news congratulations to them both <3 <3 the ring is pretty, when you mentioned they had gone to Paris i did wonder if it was because Gareth was going to propose to Hannah while they were there as you hadn't said that he had asked her only that he had asked Chris for her hand .
It was nice listening to the Nightingale singing its heart out .

Frank i'm sorry to hear you had the sad news about Stephen ,will you be going to the funeral or is it to far to go ?

Mel that was a lovely Easter Wreath with the Lambs tails and the little birds in the nest ,i bet the people at the church will love it .

I had a google of Ingoldisthorpe Hall it's looks a lovely big place to stay , is there 18 of them staying ? ,just a shame poor John couldn't go with them .

That's a lovely ring Jane, it's almost the same as mine!! Sapphire and two diamonds. I can remember when Ian bought it from Paynes in Oxford. I think it cost him just about every penny he'd got as he was only 22(!) and I've loved it ever since.
Cas has used the tub quite a few times this winter!! Come the summer I may have to move it!
Goodness Mandy, you'll be a bit weary after the weekend! Luckily our two girls are 18 and nearly 15 so they're quite quiet now!l. Little boy at nearly 11 is still pretty lively though and can be wearing!!

Well the rains still coming down ,Max keeps looking for out but when you open the door he backs up LOL ,he's now curled up on the sofa fast asleep .

It's not to bad having the family here Liz they will only be here for a while in the morning for the Egg hunt ,then we can have a quiet afternoon ready for Monday when they will be here for lunch and into the afternoon .

I've made the Yorkshire puds today for Monday they are in the freezer now ready to just pop in the oven for a few minutes ,i did them like that at christmas and they came out fine so thought i'd do them like that again to save time.

What a pity hat John is not able to go with the group this time. But it is good to know he will be having his op on Tuesday.
That must have been quite a shock seeing all that blood on your bedding :-S. Have you had a cold and been blowing your nse a lot? It probably is just a little burst vein .

Liz I think it is nice that the engagement ring has a coloured gem. I think a lot of young girls these days seem to have a Solitare .

Mandy you sound as though you are having a hectic time with the children. How many weeks holiday do ther have these days for Easter ? Is it 2 or 3 weeks?
Janice is having a bit of breathing space now until next week when she will have 4 Grandchildren (not all at once) Just 3 at a time !!

I have got dinner in and it will be ready in about 30 mins. I have the bottle of bubbly all chilled and ready to do a toast .I am hoping James might be able to get a pic of the 3 of us raising our glasses :-D He needs a good shave though lol and looks a bit of a wreck :-S

O love the ring. Now Hannah has a winking, blinking and nod like me! All the best girls have diamonds and saphires don't we Liz? My nan also had diamonds and saphires and I have her engagment ring.

It has been so cold here today I have had the heating on all day. We,ve had an extremly cold wind too.

We have a little watery sunshine this morning but at least its dry and oh is out in the garden. He is doing the mower collection box now getting all the rust off and repainting it. He is putting new bearings in this one too.

There was a box of Thorntons With Love selection chocs on the table when I came out this morning, all in a pretty pink box.

I shall be doing our big breakfast and then I may do some more felt work.

Have any of you been caught out for April Fools day. I thought of doing something, but knew I would get an ear bashing, so thought better of it.

Anne, I can't remember the last time I had a nose bleed. When I was a youngster in a fight I would imagine. I hope you don't get it reoccurring as it must be a bit frightening. xx

What a horrible day yesterday was. I don't think it stopped raining until after I went to bed. When we popped out to get Ros her Fish cake, pineapple ring, mushy peas and chips. The road out of the village was flooded. The River Tove at Towcester had burst it's banks and the fields all round were flooded also.

I like you Liz, Last night,I stood and did all the Vegetables, made the Yorkshire pudding mix and the cheese sauce, I prepared the leg of lamb and that is in the roasting tin, ready to go on anytime now. I will cook it nice and slow, so it will be out of the oven resting when I get the roasts and parsnips in. The veg are in the double steamer, and won't take that long to do. Roa is doing Raspberry baskets with double cream for a sweet.There is also a good variety of CHEESE should they want it. Somehow, I don't think they will. ;-) ;-) ;-)

You are going to be busy with the EASTER EGG hunt then Mandy. Lets hope the weather stays dry.

Hows our Gill his morning I wonder ?? Taking things easy I hope, and getting spoilt by OH.

Having done everything las night, I feel like a spare whatsit, this morning, with nothing to do. I have had some toasted HOT X buns and two COT and read he paper. Just need to get showered and dressed, then I am ready for what ever the day has to throw at me.

I've got a rubber dingy if you would like it for the girls Mel. lol lol

Happy Easter everyone

Mandy, I hope your Easter Egg hunt goes well and the weather is dry, if not will you have it indoors?

That is such a pretty ring that Hannah is now wearing Jane, I expect you are looking forward to actually seeing her with it on.

It will be quieter than usual here to day, with Richard on holiday and Abbie in Cornwall visiting her latest boy friend, so only Paul & Becky, Ruby keeps expecting Richard to walk through the door and every time she hears a car door she is looking out the window for him.

It looks like everyone is well prepared for the Easter meal.

Afternoon and Happy Easter everyone ,

We had a few spots of rain first thing but it didn't amount to much so the Egg hunt went off ok ,all eggs found as i made sure i counted them all as i hid them , we also have a bit of fun with the children ,we buy them the chocolate bunnies with the bell round their necks ,i put a little bell in my pocket they have to listen for the bell to ring and then go hunt for the bunny we do one at a time so they are all listening for the bell it keeps them quiet for a while LOL

Jane the children broke up last Wednesday and have two more weeks holiday to go yet .

That was nice Mel to find the chocs on the table this morning , i didn't have an egg as i still have those whips to eat .

Poor Ruby missing Richard but she's keeping busy listening out and looking out every time a car comes by :-D

Back Again

I had to cut my last post short as Paul & Becky arrived a little earlier than usual.

Glad the egg hunt was a success Mandy, did Max join in? That was a good idea with the chocolate Bunnies with the bells. The girls must really enjoy visiting you

That was a nice Easter gift Mel, I love Thornton's chocolates but I can only eat the Diabetic ones.

I hope Gill is feeling a little better today and Sandra enjoyed her Easter eggs

Richard arrived ok, not sure how many are going this year as it can vary but with John & Kathy not going there will be one double bedroom unused

Had opur big breakfast and I am full to the brim now. I did manage to get a couple of chocs down after though. I must admit I don't really like Thorntons chocs but it was nice to recieve some just hte same. My favorite are Black Magic.

That sounds a good game for the children Mandy. do they wait to hear the bell and whoever finds the bunny is out giving the next lot a chance? I shall have to suggest this to Em next door. They gave me a dark choc bunny so I could give Emma back the bell.

Poor Ruby looking for Richard. Where abouts in Cornwall is Abbie's boyfriend Anne? She got back ok then when it snowed?

Easter love to Gill and Family. Hope sandra had a nice lot of eggs. <3
