I was browsing the OT this afternoon.

Seems Lamech was the Father of Noah and Lamech was the son of Methuselah.
Even more interesting Lamech live 777 years.

Oh what about those old nylon sheets !!! they gave you shocks !! especially if you had a nylon nightie on ,and in the dark you could see the sparks LOL

I get shocks from the trolleys in Tes*o's !!

Glad Janice is improving Jane, sounds like it might be a slow job .

Jane Report 31 Jan 2012 20:55

Jane, Was your Dad telling you something, when he left you outside the shop.

I was watching the "CHASE" this afternoon. A retired teacher said when she started teaching there were over 40 children in her class. I could beat that there were 50 in my class, and that went on for four years.

William, You certainly come up with some butes !!! Made me smile tonight. Thanks.

Mel, pop a bowl of stew in the post. I cound just murder that now.

I love Bovril and Marmite. I often do toast and Marmite at lunchtime.

Glad Janice is making some improvement, she must take things easy and do as she is told.

David, What made you mention that tonight. ????I am like Jane Confused

William don't forget the left handed screwdriver and some elbow grease.I got caught out on that one when young !!!!

Hows little Mocha tonight ???

I remember going on holiday to Scotland, The B & B had those nylon sheets, you slid all over the bed , never saw any sparks, slept only in cotton pants.!!!!

I see that Friday is going to be minus 6 at night. with the chance of snow Sat/Sun. I certainly won't be going out anywhere. unles there's a good match on at the pub. !!!!

Sorry if I forgot anyone, only got this page to look back on. Can't remember what was on previous page. Thick or what. NO COMMENT !!!!!

Love Marmit* hate Bovri*.
Frank I bet my Dad's head was so full of instructions as to what he had to buy at the shop (that's why he forgot all about poor little me) :-S :-S.At least he came back for me :-D :-D

Just popping in before bed! MIL left OH in his pram outside a shop and had to go back for him. lol

William, the trick when I was at work was asking new people to go and fetch a tin of 'Tartan' paint. :-D I had awful problems at a previous house with a cat that used to poop on my heather bed, never even buried it, just draped it over the plants each day. A lovely mess to clean up all the time. In the end I pushed Holly sprigs between the plants, to stick up just above them. That seemed to do the trick.......'they don't like it up em' as Clive Dunn would say!!

Mel, your new hat sounds nice and cosy.......I think I will be rooting through my old ones if it gets much colder. I saw a woman in fluffy, furry one that reached to her collar today.

Glad your back is getting better Mandy......you don't need to be told to be careful do you... ;-)

OH wore glasses from a young age and I said to him a while ago did he keep taking them off when he was little. He said as soon as he realised he could see better with them on, he WANTED them on. Hopefully Sofia will think she's the 'bees knees' when she gets hers and will want to wear them too.

Glad Janice is picking up a little Jane. She must feel heartened that there is a bit of improvement now. Is the dog still growling at her crutches? That made me chuckle......funny old things aren't they, you never know what their reaction will be to new things! I have spilled birdseed before......goes all over the place doesn't it. Still, at least the birds won't fuss about it having been on the floor, not like when you spill rice and have to chuck it away!!

We are off to the cinema tomorrow lunchtime to see The Descendants. I've a feeling George Clooney is in it Shirl!! :-D I think I will be wrapping up well for it and it will be coffee not icecream I think.

My friend was told to give her horse Mar*ite for some complaint he had. She thought no way will he touch that, but spread on a slice of brown bread he loved it!!

Off to bed now......wonder how much frost there will be tomorrow.....I noticed today that our little farm shop has bags of coal (polythene bags!) and lots of logs. Night night....xx

Hello everyone,

Wet, cool day here. Monday was so hot and humid about 34 degrees knocked me off my feet.

Brain is so fuzzy. I'm off to my doctor in Sydney tomorrow, not looking forward to that as the energy level is low.

William I hope the jaundice will clear soon. My son was put under the lights on day 4, turned out to be breast milk jaundice. I thought I had a baby boy with olive skin. When it went away he was as fair and blonde as me.

Where is Shirl?? I haven't noticed a post for a few days. Hope she is ok.

I spent a bit of time doing my tree yesterday. First time in a while. Found a relative with a name Thistle Sydney *****. All the other children had normal names. Why do that to the last born?? lol Poor fellow!!!

Jane very glad there is some improvement for Janice. How often does she go for her physio?

Pat hope Mocho is getting better with the antibiotics, Sorry that you have lost more fish.

Off to watch the news. Might BBL, so wishing you all a good day. 5.57 pm DST

Very crisp bright and cold and sunny this morning. Still a little snow on the grass and some of the trees in the orchard.

My bedroom seems to be filling up with wooden bowls!!!

Ohh being sent out for left handed tea cups on a treasure hunt. We got one as you only had to hold it in your left hand.

I remember a chap in the garage when I worked for the PDSA being sent out for skyhooks, he went too!!!!

What will hubby be doing with all these bowls Mel ? i suppose he could go to a craft fair or some thing to sell them , i've seen some lovely ones and they go for a good price too.

I think when hubby started work he was sent to get a left handed hammer and some rubber nails !!! lol

Coffee first ,then i'll get some more ironing done .

Afternoon all,

Very bright sunshine, but very cold easterly wind. This mornings forcast says it will be minus 11 towards the end of the week.

Feeling more like myself this morning. I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go. !!!! not that I want too.

Trying to think of some funny story, but nothing comes to mind at the moment. It will come.

Kim, I bet you wonder what the weather is going to do next. You seemed to have had such changeable weather lately.

When you cleaned your kitchen Jane did you do the cooker ????

Looks like I might have to invest in a new printer. all it does is "FLASH" at me. "MORE EXPENCE" There are about 15 emails waiting to print. If it does start up I will have paper everywhere. !!!!

My brother who is 7 years older than me, took us twins for a walk in our pram. The pram was so big he could hardly see over the top. He started to run down this slope on the pavement, caught the wheels on the wall, and sent us flying into someones front garden. He managed to get us back in the pram, and tok us home. Mum couldn't understand why we were crying so much. It was only while talking to a women down the road, that she heard the story. Do you wonder, why I am like I am :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

Have you had a chance to look at that vinegar book yet Mel, I've often seen it advertised but didn't consider buying it at £10. Maybe you could pass some of the useful tips on to us.

One of my girls was jaundice at birth, like Grace she was a few weeks early, think that was the reason, she went under one of those lamps and was fine within a couple of days. She did keep her olive skin though, takes after her Spanish dad.

Alfie is back to the vets tomorrow for his blood test, MORE EXPENSE, as Frank would say. Hope Mocha is okay now.

Good luck at the doctors tomorrow Kim, I do love the hot weather but it certainly can drain you of energy.

Little Finley's birthday party on Saturday, 2 years old already. They came over the other day and he kept pulling me up out of the chair to play with him on the floor. He just kept pulling my arm till I was down to his level, then I had a job to get back up again ......lol

William

William Report 1 Feb 2012 16:22

You'll all be pleased to know that Baby Grace is now out of hospital and the jaundice has cleared up. So we are now looking forward to meeting her for the first time tomorrow. Can't wait.

Thanks for all the anti-cat invasion hints, will try as many as possible and let you know the results. I've got lots of Holly plants Ann and have tried the sprigs thinking it wouldn't want to go there. However, this particular moggy seems to have the acccuracy of a sniper and manages to do its 'deposits' between the sprigs! At the moment I've cut down all my finished fern leaves and popped them in that spot, so far it seems to have done the trick.

Frank, your graphic account of the pram incident made me smile. I don't think it did you any harm, it seems to sharpened your sense of humour if anything. When do you ever see a silver Cross coachbuilt pram these days? It's all kinds of weird and wonderful buggies, not much fun in shops, especially when two abreast!

Did I hear right on the radio today that Paul McCartney has called his latest album - 'Kisses on the Bottom'??? That to me is definitely an al-bum!!!

We braved the artic weather this morning and decided to go to Nuneaton on the bus. It won't be much of a wait we thought, the buses are every ten minutes. Twenty freezing-cold-minutes later, two turned up together! Not sure if it's my arithmetic that's wrong or the bus companies? They then proceded to play tag with each other along the route as one would pick up passengers at a stop, the other would pass it, and so on and so on. Benny Hill couldn't make a better sketch....
Luckily we didn't have the same problem coming back and had a very nice driver.

Anyway, off to do 'other things' now. I'll catch up with you all tomorrow.

I'm desperate for a cuppa.

Maureen

Maureen Report 1 Feb 2012 17:16

Here's another tip that works William, fill a clear plastic bottle with water and lay it in the garden where you know the cat comes in or the part of the garden he is using for his toilet. My daughter was always getting an unwanted visitor through the cat flat so placed a bottle outside the only trouble with that was her own cat wouldn't come through the cat flap either. :-0

The only way I could get warm this afternoon was to have a soak in a very hot bath, I'm all tingling and very pink now :-D
