91 today!! Gosh that is such a good age. Happy Birthday Gordon's dad.

Chicken in the oven with carrots and a mushroom soup. I shall add some mushrooms later and perhaps some peas or a bit of celery. Yuk I don't like cooked celery but oh does. Don't mind the flavour in a casserole but oh gets all the bits! :-S

No Annx, the dentist just used the same white paste she uses when she fills your teeth (fillings), luckly I didn't need any numbing injections but she did use the drill though, I think Veneers are supposed to be very expensive,, My treatment cost enough as it was £194, as we have been going private for the last 20 years, but our dentist has now gone NHS, so when I go back in July I will be going on the NH.

What a price to have to pay for a bandage Maureen, i bet a bandage for us wouldn't cost that much !! they certainly know how to charge !!

William Grace sounds a little cutie ,i do hope we get to see her soon, i bet you didn't want to hand her back :-) :-)

Still no doggy photo's here Pat !!

You should have seen Toby this afternoon ,he was fast asleep and his tail was going nineteen to the dozen , do you think he was eyeing up a lady dog :-D :-D :-D :-D

It was sad about little Teddie Sheila, he had a good home with you and he was a good age, but its still hard when you lose them .
Poor old Donnie ,getting it in the neck again !! i'd love to be a fly on the wall in their house LOL

Looks like we're in for snow on Saturday , turning to rain on Sunday.

Nice to see you back Sheila.I'm so sorry about little Teddy. You gave him a lovely home ,so he was a lucky little dog.
Sounds like you had a lovely holiday. Not sure about the outside loo though :-S

Watch out USA,April is on her way lol.I wonder why Matt's parents are sending you horrible messages. It is Jess's choice to move away.I know you will all miss them when they go.

Oh dear,Beryl and Donnie!!!!!!!!.What a pair :-D :-D.It's fiasco after fiasco with them lol.

Fiona ,that's good now your teeth are done.Yes Veneers cost a fortune.
My sister always had dreadful teeth .they were tiny and the enamel was really bad.She never smiled with her mouth open. When Mum died and left some money,Janice decided to have her teeth done.it was the best thing she could have done. All veneered ...at a cost of £5,000 :-0 :-0
It changed her life and gave her so much more confidence. They look great.
She has a great smile now :-D :-D

Sheila, loved seeing the dear old Jowett Javelin again. Years ago I used to go to the stock car racing at Hednesford Hills Raceway, watch the old bangers knocking hell out of each other, bit like a demolition Derby. The last race was always a'fight to the death' Figure of Eight race. All through the heats poor old Javelin would chug in somewhere up the back, but more or less intact. Come the figure of 8 and all the other cars were knocking sixteen bells out of each other until finally non were driveable. Except that is - you've guessed it - the Javelin romped home and took the prize virtually unscathed. Like the Little White Bull, it was greeted with rapturious applause. Thought you might like to know that.

I've just had a bath and ready to lock up for the night, OH back tomorrow from Madrid about 6pm , and guess what he has no travelling for the next 2 weeks, I'll not know what to do with him round the house every night. ;-) :-0 lol
At least I won't have to keep ringing his mobile with questions I keep getting asked by the builder's etc,

Wow Jane , that is a lot of money, hopefully all this treatment on my teeth will last for a few years, don't think we could afford for me to have veneers, not with all the money we had to pay last year for my gallblader operation and now on the back porch too.

Hi Sheila
sorry to hear about your dog, and on your holls as well

night night everyone,

That's nice Fiona your OH back for your Anniversary tomorrow.
I am off to bed now too.My neck and shoulders have been killing me tonight.Must all the heaving those logs about :-S :-S

See you all in the morning x

Annx

Annx Report 2 Feb 2012 22:32

I've even enquired about having teeth implants Jane (also expensive!) but the dentist said you can't build on rocky foundations!! :-( I've always hated my top teeth, but what with gum and bone loss I can't even have them whitened. :-(

Nice to see your dad's Jowett Javelin Sheila. They were very nice with that sloping back. I never saw a gold one, just black ones. I see Donnie is still getting into hot water with Beryl.........giving her good clothes away and leaving her with the old ones!! lol I don't think April will be backward in coming forward when she gets to America! lol I think the in laws should leave them to do what they want with their lives. My neighbour who used to live over the road was on her own and one of her children lived in Australia with her grandchildren and the other was planning to live there too, but she was pleased for them.

Little Grace will be glad of her black mop of hair this weather William. Did you take any pics? You are taking me back to childhood with your mention of Hednesford Hills. I lived in a village, Etching Hill, near Rugeley as a little girl, not far from Hednesford. OH says he remembers the Stock Car racing there.

I won't be around in the morning so will wish you HAPPY ANNIVERSARY for tomorrow now Fiona. You just wait till he retires and is there most of the time!! lol

I bet your aches are from heaving the logs Jane. OH's pain is better now, but he thinks he wrenched something getting boxes out of the loft yesterday!! Hope yours 'disappear' overnight.

Night, night.......xx

Morning All,

It is so frosty today and the sun is shining that over the front grass it looks just like a glistening Christmas card with diamonds on it here and there.

The two cars outside the kitchen window have frosted fern crew cuts.

So what is everyone up to today? Anything special?

I shall spend the morning defrosting the chickens water containers as oh shut them in last night and he never empties them all so all four are frozen solid.

I forgot to say........

Happy Aniversary Fiona and hubby!!

So nice to have Sheila back on board. We have all missed you and I missed your posts just before my one yesterday. I am sure they were'nt there when I posted!!

I have been out and done the wild birds water and it dos'nt seem as cold as there is no wind or breeze today yet.

we had a big buzzard sit on the wall yesterday sunning it's self front and back. When it flew off it landed on the fence post and I tried to take a pic but it was too far away. Oh told me I could make it bigger when I downloaded the picture! Don't know how to do that :-S :-S :-S

Mandy a Golden Wedding Aniversary, how lovely <3

Fiona

Fiona Report 3 Feb 2012 10:12

Morning Mandy

Morning Mel

Thank you ladies for your anniversary wishes

MANDY we might go out for lunch tomorrow, nothing has been arranged yet.
For the last 33 years I have received a bouquet of flowers, delivered by hand from the shop on our anniversary. OH started it when he was a sea and the tradition has just carried on, so I am not going out today, (builders are here this morning & I have Sofia this afternoon)

Not to bad weather wise today , the only bit of frost we have is in the back garden where there was no sun yesterday it's all gone from the front

ANN There is still a few years to go till OH retires , he will be 55 in April , that is why he cycles so much now, because he is (health wise )still fit to ride up & down the hills and over the moors that surround Glasgow, unfortunatly life at the moment is still very demanding, with work, family and household chores there is never enough hours in a weekend to do everything and spend quality time cycling as well, This time of the year is very hard work the weather is sometimes not good enough to go out on his bike.

time for a cuppa
