Hello everyone,

I haven't been able to post as the box to type in was not showing up.

I loved all the snow photos, plus the dogs romping around. Ann how is OH's head today?

It has been overcast and really windy here, temps. cool again. It seems that the young boy has drowned. They can't find his body and it is too wild out there to do much searching by water. His poor family and he has a twin brother too - a local boy of 15, a life cut so short. :-(

Will be back later. Watching something on Jack the Ri**er at the moment.

Hope all colds are clearing up and backs are a bit better.

No, Ann, we haven't run a kitchen to earth yet! We've been to look at several, but you have to be a bit careful as some aren't all they purport to be!! We've plenty of time, so are now just keeping an eye on things! We have, however, bought a shower tray - completely new for next to nothing, a bobby bargain! Mucky old day here, Millie has a swollen eyelid, I think she may have knocked it, so I'm bathing it with warm water, also her teeth (yuk!) are under a regime of cleaning! not an easy job, but one I've neglected for quite a while (smacked wrist!) so MUST keep it up.

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Damp and miserable here today. I think it is warmer too. I have turned the heating off!!

Poor Gorden bumping his head again, and what a silly MIL going out on her own. I don't suppose she will use a stick or a frame? I know mum would'nt. Said it made her feel like an old lady, I said you are!!

Poor Pat having to go into work too. Be carefull and don't you fall over.

Jane thanks for the pic of Chester in the snow. Has anyone built a snowma yet.

Ann I liked the pic of the carpark attendant making sure the cars got in and out safely.

Shopping for me today, at least I think he will let me go on my own this week. You know what it's like when the men come with you, Always walking off when you need them to ask something or go and find the beer they want or whatever.

I can never get the things I want in our local Waitr*** so am pleased to get back to Morri****.

OH dispatched my two young cockrels this morning as they were all fighting and vying? for the cock of the roost. He has left me with Cockle my orginal one and their dad and the one he calls The Black Night which is the one I wanted to keep because of his black front and he has the cheek puff and the other two did'nt. O and we still have little old man who spent another warm night in the lounge in a box with his sun lamp on. Oh said he will soon ahve a good tan :-)

Afternoon all,

Spent the last three hours sorting out CAR INSURANCE and trying to sort out this printer.Still no luck with it. It keeps telling me it dosen't reconised the printer. Will ask my neighbour in to try to sort it. If not it will have to wait till the weekend. Harvey is bringing Lewis up for a week (HALF TERM)

Snow seems to be melting slowly, and very misty (FOG)

Ros has a stinking cold and sore throat. Lemsips and Honey, She is still in dressing gown curled up on sofa. She can stay there, I will look after her.

Mel, whats going to happen with the little cockies. In the Oven ????

Going to get some soup for lunch, and prepar dinner for tonight.

Afternoon everyone,

Its been a nice bright morning here ,the snow is gradually going ,and we can see the tarmac on the road now .

Ann, hubby was lucky he had his hat on when the boot lid came down ,he could have had a nasty cut on his head .
No Toby's not Jack Russell size lol i would say he's slighty bigger than Chester and you've seen him haven't you?

I got my old green wellies out of the cupboard this morning ,ready for going out in the snow ,i'am not keen on wearing them as my feet get cold in them ,i did give them a good bang on the bottom in case there was any spiders in the toe !! :-S :-S

Hope your cold soon clears up Fiona , your doing the best thing keeping in the warm .

Hubby's home today ,he's working out in the sticks and its all little back roads where he's working so he thought it best to leave it another day for the roads to clear a little, he's been doing some paper work so he's kept busy .

Time for a cuppa and watch a bit of Doctors !!

Hi all, hope you are all staying warm and safe. Very damp and a bit foggy here, the snow has almost disappeared.

Did anyone watch D O I last night? If you know who got through would you please PM me as instead of pressing play for the results on the recorder, I pressed delete - and it was gone in a flash. That's because we were engrossed in 'Midwife' on Beeb 1 before hand. Just thought I'd give you all my synopsis on the main D O I programme, (not meant to be taken too seriously). The 'celebreties' - I thought the Jessie J routine celeb was very brave doing that gusset splitter (my term, not the voice-overs). The George Michael celeb looked like he'd been attacked by an overpowered hair dryer! Chico outskated his professional partner. Phillip, with his silver hair and silver suit, looked like one of the flock of sheep from Countryfile. The panel - Louie, looked like he'd wash his hands and was drying them in the air, Robin looked like an advert for a dry cleaners - and the German lass looked like an Outspan orange with a cleavage you could park your bike in. But, as the panel say, overall I enjoyed it.

I can relate to you Frank, it never seems to go smoothly when I try to install something on the computer, in fact the last time I tried I messed up the CD drive completely, doesn't work at all now.

Plenty of snow still around but the road looks clear so I shan't be taking the week off after all.

Hope you are feeling a bit better today Fiona.

Tragic news Kim, that poor family losing a son, hard enough when it's someone elderly but he had his whole life ahead of him.

Jane Report 6 Feb 2012 15:28

Afternoon All
I forced myself not to come on here until this afternoon so I could get things done.I'm now just having a quick break from that ironing board waiting for a load of shirts to finish in the dryer .
It is a miserable afternoon here.We have just had a shower of sleety rain, and there is still an awful lot of snow lying.I wore my ice grippers on my walking boots this morning.I was sweating buckets by the time I got them on lol.Anyway they worked brilliantly.I have left them attached so I won't have to struggle with them again tomorrow .

How's OH's head Ann????.It reminded me of the first time we went to our village church. The Vicar was sporting a big plaster on his forehead. The bonnet on his old jalopy had come down on it.During that service ,knocked over the stand with a load of papers on ,and then couldn't get the music working. He was just like Frank Spencer in 'Mothers do have them' :-S :-S

My man is supposed to be letting me know when the logs will be delivered. We are now just about out.If I get desperate I will smile nicely at Fitz and pinch some of his. :-D :-D

Dryer is finished now so I had better get moving.

Maureen

Maureen Report 6 Feb 2012 16:02

You could always drive here for logs Jane, I've got a whole garden seat full (covered over) the remains of the walnut tree. Took a load up to daughters at Christmas, she's the only one I know with an open fire. Might even cut the pine tree down in the spring, but that will mean more logs to clear.

Not having a very productive day, painting didn't go well so I've been on the computer for the last few hours, playing puzzle games, keep telling myself it's not a waste of time as it's keeping my brain active ;-)

Jane

Jane Report 6 Feb 2012 17:29

Thanks for the offer Maureen lol.I bet your daughter will love to have what you have left.I think they are better if left for some time after cutting.Do they call it seasoned wood?
You should see the Fog now!!!!!!It's bad.James's friends are on the MI somewhere driving back to Kettering.I hope they take it slowly.

I don't know if I have missed posts ,but I don't think I have seen Denise for a while.

Pat I hope you didn't slither and slide all the way to work today.I went to the Post Office and the pavement outside was dreadful.I felt so sorry for a couple of really elderly people with sticks taking their lives in there hands. One slip and it would have been broken hips and goodness knows what else.
I think Janice has been for her Physio again today and also her post op check at the hospital.I must ring and see how she got on.

Hi Everyone,

Another one here who hasn't done much today either!! OH forgot the window cleaner was coming again, so when I could hear them outside he got a jab in the ribs to get up and open the sidegate for them. He can't seem to remember these things, puts things in his diary but then doesn't look in it!! :-S
He has a nice red patch on his head now and he says it feels very tender! He declined my offer of plasters in a cross!! lol:-D

I've been out and done some errands and OH has gone to a meeting and that's about it for me! I got to looking at the old papers again, guaranteed to make the time fly. :-0 Found some more interesting stuff on a couple of ancestors. Dad's mum died when he was a teenager after being bedridden for years, so I don't think he knew much about her side of the family........never spoke of it if he did.

I don't envy you cleaning Millie's teeth Liz. Is it 'meat' flavour toothpaste!! :-D

Jane Report 6 Feb 2012 18:10

I think this horrible foggy king of weather makes us all feel like not doing an awful lot Ann.Even Chester has spent most of the day kipping. He did have a mad 20 mins earlier, and wanted to play ball (in the lounge) :-S :-S
I meant to say how nice to see the fox the other morning.
When I went down the lane this morning I could see in the snow the Badgers footprints going from the fence to the Sett I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can still see them(if the snow hasn't disappeared) and take a photo.

I suppose I had better think about dinner now.I can't really be bothered. If it was just me I would fancy a poached egg on toast, but I will have a hungry working man home soon and I don't think that would go down too well :-S

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 6 Feb 2012 18:31

Been shopping and nothing of interest to report just the usual dull old day.

I bought a lasagne for our dinner, only £1.99 and a box of salad to go with it. Might do a garlic bread and that will fill up the big tum on the other side of the table to me! :-D

Also got two bottles of my favourite red Hardey's Crest. Well it is my birthday soon and I only buy it when it is on offer.

Hope Gordon's head feels a bit better now Ann, please give him my regards. I liked the thought of a cross plaster!! made me giggle. I don;'t know what we are going to do with you two, you are both so quick with replies to each other.

I got my snow grip things a couple of weeks ago off the Kleenezy man. Ordered before Christmas but they were out of stock. I don't know if they are going to fit on my shoes yet, they look awfully small.

Jane

Jane Report 6 Feb 2012 18:58

They stretch Mel lol.You haven't got big feet.Like I said earlier I have left mine on my shoes ready for tomorrow. It was quite a struggle to hook the rubber bit over the toe and heel. But they did the trick.Chester could have done with some on his poor little paws.He was poking around in the grass on the edge of the lane and every now and then one of his legs dropped into a rabbit hole and he ended up on his nose :-S.He couldn't see the holes as they were all covered in snow.

I couldn't work out which way those grippers went on ,until I realised on the back it says 'BACK' and the narrow end says FRONT lol
