Im off to line dancing soon..Wasent going but then my friend got me to change my mind.

Once a month we wear something of a certain colour,,Tonights colour is purple..I have a baggy T shirt so I am wearing it over a white long sleeved blouse.

Yesterday I scalded my hand..Was dishing up some broco lie with just a spoon with holes in and I dropped the spoon in the saucepan. Hot brocolie went over my hand I moved quick and somehow lost my balence and fell on the floor. My foot twisted under me..I dont know what was worse the burning or my foot. Did bring tears to my eyes,,Had my hand in ajug of water for a little while..Came up with 2 blisters .Which have just burst..I will keep them dry..

I dont suppose i will be doing much dancing tonight lol..

I must get some of those snow grippers........better than slipping over, but it sounds like a wrestling match to put them on!!! lol

Pat, you didn't have a good day yesterday what with the burn, then falling over! I should take it easy at line dancing tonight.....no wobbly heeled cowboy boots..... and sit a few out! lol It's a good job you didn't land on Mocha!!!! :-S How is his cough today?

Your weather does seem a bit wild Kim. Life for that poor boy's family will never be the same. How awful for them all.

I'm off to watch Superscrimpers with OH now he's polished off his pizza. Why do I feel so tired when I haven't done much?? :-S

I've got some special doggy toothpaste Ann,plus a doggy toothbrush! cleaning the front and back of her mouth is quite easy, it's the back that is virtually impossible, so I've got some special 'wipes' and I've managed to do the back of her mouth fairly well. I've also got wipes for her ears, and her eyes; I did her eyes this evening soaked in that cold tea Mel, she wasn't too amused, but hopefully it'll do the trick. Have been doing more investigations this afternoon concerning the crash that killed my father
all those years ago - it would be really nice to find other family members of that crew, don't think I will but you never know. I really want to go and see the memorial to Bomber Command that's 'finally' been commisioned, better late than never I suppose!

Front and back reminds me of an old joke which might get censored.

Paddy got a new pair of wellington of the boss.
He put them on the wrong feet.
His boss says Paddy, can't you see they say L & R for left and right.
Paddy say of course. My wifes got some pairs of knickers like that.
What do you mean said the boss
Well they've got C & A on them says Paddy.

Apologies in advance.

LOL, very funny David :-D :-D

Hello everyone,

Strange weather again, cool temps. sun comes out then gone again and very windy.

They still haven't found that young boy. Newspaper photos of his twin brother holding a flower and looking out to sea :-( So tragic and very sad for everyone involved. They have scaled down the search, but lifeguards and local rescue crews are still looking as best they can.

Pat sorry to hear about your injuries, both so painful for you. Did you end up going dancing?? Hope Mocha is getting better too.

Son woke me when I was dozing on the couch during the wee hours of this morning. "Look at this!!!!" and there was a huge black wolf spider (we think) walking along the floor near my couch. They are venomous, but I have never had one in the house before. We both faffed around wondering what to do. The cat wanted to have a go at it and it chased her with legs raised. Had to lock her away. Joel got a container and put over it, then I pushed a bit of thick paper under that and it kept trying to attack me. Then I put a big bucket over the top of that and then a heavy based sticky tape holder to finish off!!!! No more sleep for me, I kept watch until I went to bed. I could still hear it clawing at the paper. Horrid thing it was and still alive at lunch time. Keith got it into a jar by this time. It is now back in the bush far from the house where it belongs. We do get quite a few spiders in the house, but nothing like this. My worst nightmare, next to cockroaches that is. No photos, didn't think anyone would appreciate them
;-)

Off to have my dinner, homemade lasagne tonight. Back later. 7.02 pm DST

Morning All and evening Kim,

Some sunshine today but clouds too passing over.

So how is everyone today?

Poor Pat I had'nt read the posts when I first posted. Burns are nasty things and I hope it will be better soon, the ankle too.

Kim an encounter like that must be quite scarey knowing it was a poisenous one. Good you shut the cat away.

Jane my ice treads don't have back and front written on them but I have a pic with the cross bit on the back of a pair of trainers with the stud bit under the front of your shoe. It says they are to fit sizes 2 to 6.

Patricia Report 7 Feb 2012 10:45

Morning All.

Oh Kim...What a nasty fright you had.

The burns on my hands are sore but the fall didnt affect my dancing lol..Did sit some out.

Mocha doesnt seem to be coughin g so much now .On anti till thursday.

I dont know what is happening to my fish..Yesterday morning one looked sluggish by the time I came in from work it looked dead hiding behind filter,it stayed like that till alan came home to remove..Took the top of aquarian and it decided to swim about as if nothing was wrong..by the end of evening it was hiding again..But this morning it is swimming with the others..It is a female and we do have 2 males of that species left..Lost the other females..I thought she was getting ready to give birth .

Just have to keep and eye on her..The 3 baby ones are doing well but not her species..The one that is acting funny is either a guppy or a platy..and the babies are either of those as well.

Morning All
Feeling better this morning, got up and had my breakfast and had a shower.
sunny here but very cold and a heavy frost,

Daughter no 1 phoned yesterday, had to take Sofia for another eye test and after having drops put in the doctor said there was no signs of any squint showing up and wants to see Sofia in July when she is older and can understand what the doctor is saying . We all said that after the last eye test that there was no point in asking Sofia if her vision was bleary or can she see the letters of the alphabet and say which one is which,
Mind you she does know that S is for Sofia.
for goodness sake she is not even 2 1/2 yet, doesn't even know what bleary means,
:-| :-S
Daughter is happy for the time being that she doesn't have to battle with glasses yet anyway

Joiners were supposed to be back today to finish of the sealing of windows etc in the porch , but I got a phone call from the office to say one of the men was expecting to become a granddad within the next 24hours his daughter had gone into labour so they would be coming on Wednesday instead.

Time for the kettle and maybe a biscuite.

Morning one and all,

Been trying to set up the printer this morning, still wont print. When it does, I'll have reams of paper everywhere. I have pressed pring so many times. :-D :-D :-D

Kim, Why didn't you just kill the B####y thing. I don't mind picking up any of our spiders, but a poisonous one, whould have certainly had the treatment. :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

Pat, I bet you had a few words to say, after that accident. I am forever burning myself. either grabing a hot saucepan handle, some of ours are metal, some don't attract the heat, others do. It's only when I pick them up I know which is which :-D :-D :-D :-D I will learn one of these days.

David, I have heard that joke before, you wonder who thinks them up.!!!!

Ros wanted to buy me some of those spikey things, I said and where do I put them when I get in the pub. She said keep them on. I said what about their carpets. !!!! So I haven't got any. It's the only place I walk in the winter anyway. I can just see me walking round Tesc#s in them :-) :-) :-) Look like a thing from outter space.

Ros, (against my wishes) has gone to the Chapel this morning to help with another sale of things for ths Scouts. With that cough and runny nose, I don't think she will be that welcome !!!

The fog has lifted, and it seems to be milder. But watch out for tonight. Theres talk of minus 8 and even colder tomorrow.

I am just starting to sneeze, and getting a sore throat (THANKS ROS)

Afternoon everyone,

Frosty morning here ,lots of the snow melted away yesterday but there's still patches of snow laying about on the paths, i went to Tes*o's this morning and they had a huge pile of snow that had been cleared from the car park,it must have been about six feet high!!

Oh my goodness Kim, how big are those spiders ? i don't think could have gone back to sleep either .
Better get some jobs done

Three times once again having to log in and getting the same thing come up. Then I tried just going to my threads and got there and had in the purple box Log in To Reply!!!!!!! :-| :-| :-|

It is just not good enough. They have really messed this site up lately and a lot of us depend on it :-S

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Feb 2012 15:18

Oh yes Mandy you just reminded me what I was going to say. I have been a busy girl today. Cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen floor and hall carpet. Going to have a go at the windows now, then I shall feel good knowing I have done some housework instead of sitting around all day on the pooter.

Sun is out and I have also got two loads of washing on the line.

Frank

Frank Report 7 Feb 2012 15:43

Yes Mel,
I am feed up with having to keep logging on. Also my Emails have gone haywite, keep getting an error notice. saying I can't receive or send !!!!

Ros got back about noon, they also had a meeting down there. The Church wan't the girls to make a "WEDDING KNEELER" in time for the Queens Jubilee celibrations. they want no end of fancy work on it, including twin gold rings, but the gold has to be in a thread that won't catch on the brides dress's. I thought all that sort of thing was gold braid. Do you know of any that aren't ????

The Chapel want a Curtain making, in a moth/fly proof material for a high up window, with CROSS'S on both curtains. and a lot of fancy embrodary. When will it all end, I ask myself. The willing horse comes to mind :-) :-)

Have heard from an old school friend this morning, also a very good friend from Kettering. Both enquiring on our health, and how we are coping with the weather. Have replied to both. We are allright "JACK" and chewed over a few momories, of Woodford, and what we use to get up to.

The sun has been quite warm this afternoonn, I am bare chested with the sun on my face. I get too warm with the heating on, but Ros gets soooo cold without it, As you know if I get to warm, I get aggitated and start to lose it, so i'm trying to keep my cool !!!!!

Nice easy dinner tonight. Fried pigs liver, mash, fried onions, and tined peas. (frozen just don't do the same for the taste)

Going to watch the "hungry sailors" now, so see you later.

Maureen

Maureen Report 7 Feb 2012 16:05

Did I miss your post before Ann about newspapers. What can you look up, I mean, do you have to know something specific to find an ancestor.

I had pigs liver the other day Frank, prefer it to lambs. Makes a really nice dinner on these cold winter evenings.

Don't think I could cope with the spiders you get Kim, don't mind the little ones, but anything bigger than a money spider freaks me out.

David

David Report 7 Feb 2012 16:06

Frank,if you go to printers and faxes from the start menu I suspect you will finf that there's a back log of unprinted pages in the file still to come.
I'm rather sure you can cancel them one at a time or if you read it carefully you might be able to cancel all.
I had this problem with a Lexmark printer once and it was a nightmare, but the solution is a doddle once found.

Good luck

Oh dear my computer has been playing up for the last couple of days :-S :-S
I hope it's not on the way out.
Just managing to get on here now.One thing is without it I have gotan awful lot of things done :-D
I did post this morning but see it vanished or just didn't appear.
Kim,I don't like the sound of your spider :-0.I did look them up,and it gave me the willies.

Pat I hope your burns are not too painful today and your ankle is ok.Was it too much wine??? ;-) ;-) ;-)

I just got my veg in from the garage and the cauliflower is covered in mouse poo :-S :-S.They haven't touched the poison that is down.Little devils.

Still lots of snow in the back garden and it is now very crunchy. No fire tonight ,all the logs are gone, but new delivery tomorrow afternoon. That will be a job for James to stack them all in the wood shed thing.

I haven't read all the threads as I wanted to get this post in quickly just in case the pooter decides to misbehave.

Frank I loved that email with the stunning pictures .They were incredible.
Still no Denise???
Hopefully `I will get back later.Fingers crossed.

William Report 7 Feb 2012 17:18

David, I for one liked that one. Now we know why C & A went out of business!

Frank, as usual, your emails put my laughing gear in action, love them. Not sure that I could even find a Woolworths these days, let alone one that sells frozen chickens! (Smart arses anwers). The AWESOME Youtube item was indeed awesome. Even without HD or 3D on my computer screen the results were fantastic. As someone who gets vertigo, some of the shots positively turned my stomach over. I can't watch the opening of The Sound of Music without getting vertigo!

You've all seen me on here carping on about my cat invasions, well here's the latest. I was at the kitchen sink doing the breakfast wash-up like a good dutiful husband when I happened to look out of the window to see how our little feathered visitors were doing this morning. Imagine my surprise when looking at the bird table, less than four feet from me, what do I see but a huge black cat helping itself to the birds food! I guess I should have got my camera and we could have all had a good laugh, but like the cretin I am, I knocked the window and scared it off. Now don't get me wrong, I love cats, but preferably not up to no-good on my premisies.
I've since been out in the garden and installed a barbed wire exterior, exploding bird lime and a big NO CATS notice on the bird feeder. I figure if they're clever enough to be able to make their way onto a bird table, they're clever enough to read!

It's nice to know we have our own IT advisor to look after us all on here in the guise of David. I'll bet we're all on here saying prayers and keeping our fingers crossed for Frank's printer to start doing what comes naturally (to a printer anyway - ie, printing). I've even said prayers for him to St. Jude (the patron saint of hopeless cases) and also St Anthony (he always finds everything for me). Frank, put us all out of our anxiety and tell us the printer has started - eh, printing......

Well folks, I went out for the first time since Friday. Wrapped up warm and took a stroll down the main road to chat with someone who wants to help our Carers group. It was still flipping cold, and I was still flipping pleased to get back home to OH. Luckily our friendly neighbours called in with some milk for us on Sunday, which resulted in the teapot being filled and a good old chat taking place.. Pity there's not more people around like that.

Think it's time to start our evening meal now, nothing exciting but, hey, we gotta eat anyway.
