Just spent ages looking on the web at all the photos from the wedding

I thought her dress was just beautiful .... and so was her sister's

I noticed one of the sites was suggesting that Harry might well ahve been very taken with Pippa in her dress!

They seemed so happy, and in love ..................... good!!!

Charles and Diana's marriage was cooked up by two good friends, the Queen Mother and Diana's grandmother (or step-grandmother), that romance author Barbara something or other.

They thought it would be a good match, steady Charles, she would be malleable ................. and he needed an heir.

Dea

That was the generally accepted view back then. In fact, I think it was admitted by both the QM and the other.

and Camilla and Charles ..... apparntly never got to the point of him being forbidden to marry her.

He went off to do his naval service, due to be absent for up to a year, she got the pip because he didn't "speak" before he went, so she upped and married someone else.

The marriage might well have been forbidden IF it had got that far ............. he was only about 21, and it was still in the days when the Royal bride had to be pure and virginal. She wasn't!

I felt sorry for Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice. Their outfits were awful. Why wasn't Eugenie advised against her Vivienne Westwood creation. It looked like a student had made it and the hem was wonky

Just to get back to normality here, away from the Royal Wedding...........

I was taking my little grand-daughter home last night and she was talking away in the car.

She is going on holiday soon an told me that her othet Nana and Grandpa were going to look after 'Cookie' (one of her hamsters - she used to have 'Cookie and Peanut').

I questioned that they were just looking after the one and she said yes - Peanut had died recently.

Not knowing what her parents had told her, I said " well Peanut is up with the fairies, or the angels then, being looked after. ?

'"No", she said, quite matter of fact, ......."we buried her!! well, actually, we didn't bury her because we have foxes in our garden and they might dig her up so daddy gave her to a man who buried her and he didn't tell us where in case we dug her up,.... but we wouldn't have' "

I don't know how I kept a straight face.

I suspect that means that she ended up 'down the tip' ??

Isn't life simple when you are SO young ??

Are you feeling any better Sylvia?

SylviaInCanada Report 29 Apr 2011 21:11

not much, Dea

my chest hurts whenever I cough, and there isn't too much I can take because of other problems.

So I just have to stick with hot honey and lemon, and Vick's Inhaler or rub

OOhhh Sylvs,

I know how you feel - there is not much you can do apart from 'brave your way through it' !!

DO look after yourself, keep warm and lots of hot drinks.

Hope you feel better very soon !!

Toots

that's what I do!

we also have a Canadian cough medicine, its advertising boasts how bad it tastes ..... it's basically just camphor and menthol

It tastes TERRIBLE!

tonight, I might try putting Vicks on the soles of my feet, and then putting on cotton socks.

That's supposed to stop coughing ??!!

Even though it's on your chest have you thought about making it into a inhaler. Boiling water, Vick added towel over head and breath it in. I find sometimes it helps loosen my chest

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 29 Apr 2011 21:42

Yep, done that!

actually, I've been putting Mr Buckleys (the cough medicine I mentioned above) into boiling water and inhaling that

Sylvs... so sorry to hear about your awful cough and cold. Hope you soon find a remedy that makes you feel better.
