Daughter has migraine so we ain't been out this afternoon....hopefully it's just a short one and won't last too long. Mind you, it's given me time to play around on here so I'm not complaining to be honest.

This reminds me of something which happened when I was about 12 or 13 - My mother came home from work (at the soap factory) and related to me a joke which her workmates had told - something about snow-white and the 7 dwarfs !!

It was 'quite' rude and I laughed but my mother just could not see the joke and I was unable (at that age) to explain it to her.

Please someone - ....explain the joke !!

The first time I saw the Statue of Liberty in the flesh so to speak it was encased in scaffolding during its refurbishment in the 1980's. I told my kids that Liberty was in jail. Re the twin towers (World Trade Center) I have some great pictures that I took whilst standing on the roof. I remember the brochure/pamphlet that you got when you ascended, if I remember correctly it stated "The closest some people will get to God"

Me on a very good day hacktually!. Its a great pity that you cannot see the image more clearly. You could then see my 3 teeth and the 12 or so wrinkles on my head but I do think that my Mr Spock ears show up quite nicely. :P

OH is out at the Garden, helping out at the Perennial Plant Sale.


This is another fund raising effort by the FOGs (volunteer group) ...... they used to hold it on Mother's Day (second Sunday in May here) until last year when they realised that they were mothers, and ddin't like wokring on Mother's Day
