he could die any time after conception had occurred, and ti would be his baby!

she had a child with another man


and when she went to register it, the registrar automatically gave the baby the husband's surname AND put the husband's name on the bc


that's standard ............. even if the husband had been dead for 10 years (and I did find that for someone!)

Right, must get some ironing done. OH had a difficult night so is having a difficult morning.......sigh......not sure how things will pan out at the moment but one presses onwards and upwards :S

Ive left her to buy the certs....we'll see, some people cant bear to part with a few quid but as we know it's the only way to find out.....I cant tell you how many certs I bought for both G Grandfathers deaths!

I dont check these things out but maybe I should, I dont even know when it's due to renew I just have the continuous thing

Under your photo it says Member since February 2007 ................. so that means that your sub was due in February.


You were supposed to get a 20% discount off the £9.95


But then mine says member since April 2004 ...... and I don't renew until June

That's because I got a "gift" of 2 free months some years ago, after some major problems with the site.

The date of membership sylv is when you first signed up to the site...I did not pay any money until jan2010 so my subs are Jan and July I got 20% off in Jan

I joined as a paying member, didn't think the Free was what I needed. But all they had then was the free, and a 1 year paying membership at £7.50 ......... which is why I still only pay once a year.

I do however refuse to have Continuous Membership ................... I want control of paying, not having it taken automatically from my CC

They regularly change it to Continuous, I go into My Account and change it back to Single!

So far it hasn't made a difference ................ but I do wonder whether i will get the 20% discount this time.


Some people did ask GR late last year when the discount was announced, and were assured that it would apply also to those with Single membership



so we'll see, in just a couple of weeks!

Remember I said a couple of days ago that someone I had tried to help on a thread, had then pm'd me, but asked only the same question over again?


and that I was going to join the "pms left unanswered" group?

well, said person followed me onto another thread yesterday, posted a pm addressed to me, and asked me to find out information on certain ancestors.


I was so taken aback, I actually did help with a couple of them (it was actually very easy).


I have to go find the thread and see what response I've got back!

I dont mind people pm'ing for help I have one who is ok but the one recently just gives names and off she goes.

That platinum thread I dont care about who gets a cheap standard sub but giving away platinum is not right at all.
