7. How long do I have to register the birth of a child?
A birth must be registered within 21 days. However, in exceptional circumstances (for example if the mother is ill or the father is unavailable), a short postponement can be arranged in consultation with the registrar.

Ice hockey is THE winter game in Canada

The Stanley Cup is THE prize ...... think European Cup in soccer, Aussie Rules final, etc

The Vancouver Canucks have made it to the Stanley Cup final for only the 3rd time in 40 years.

It's a series ......... best-of-7

Canucks won the first 2

Game 3 tonight ............. they lost 8 - 1 :-0

Burns - I always run finger, wrist or whatever under cold water then put ointment/salve/cream or whateve you might call it and then I cover it so no air can get at it.

Now have just received this by e-mail.

Once I was cooking some corn and stuck my fork in the boiling
water to see if the corn was ready. I missed and my hand went
into the boiling water....

A friend of mine, who was a Vietnam vet, came into the house, just as I was screaming, and asked me if I had some plain old flour...I pulled out a bag and he stuck my hand in it. He said to keep my hand in the flour for 10 mins. which I did. He said that in Vietnam , this guy was on fire and in their panic, they threw a bag of flour all over him to put the fire out...well, it not only put the fire out, but he never even had a blister!!!!

SOOOO, long story short, I put my hand in the bag of flour for 10 mins, pulled it out and had not even a red mark or a blister and absolutley NO PAIN. Now, I keep a bag of flour in the fridge and every time I burn myself, I use the flour and never ONCE have I ever had a red spot, a burn or a blister!
*cold flour feels even better than room temperature flour.

Miracle, if you ask me. Keep a bag of white flour in your fridge and you will be happy you did. I even burnt my tongue and put the flour on it for about 10 mins. and the pain was gone and no burn. Try it! BTW, don't run your burn area under Cold water first, just put it right into the flour for 10 mins and experience a miracle.

That's it verbatim, hate the way when you type burn it looks like bum... trust me to reaf it incorrectly... numptied again.

I used to like Football but When you cannot prenounce the players names for a London team because they are all foreign including the manager I lost interest. I will always be an Arsenal supporter but I do not follow it anymore.

I went to an Aussie rules game once that was fun..taking a ice box full of beer with us do they still do that?

Never heard that one Persie

I do have an aloe plant, and break off part of a leaf if I burn myself, then rub the sap over the burn

That works wonders.

football to us is American or Canadian Football ......... which is a carrying game a bit like Rugby, but they have 2 distinct "teams' on each side.

The Offensive and the Defensive.

so I've become accustomed to calling the kicking game Soccer!

It would'nt go down to well on these boards :-)

You can't go to an Aussie Rules game without your tubes of beer.

We are no longer supposed to call it Soccer but it is now Football. I think this is a clever tactical game, my OH prefers hockey.

We as far as I know call American Football - Gridiron. It is unique and I just cannot follow it at all... to me it is like the war of the shoulder pads.

I do like watching the Canadians play Ice-Hockey.

I had visions straight away of me burning my bum and then sitting in a bag of flour and himself walking in...........

I would be a bumptie then.

Unforyunately not allowed to take alcohol in now..they check everything and can even get you to open soft drinks in case you have spiked it with alcohol.

They are trying to have a more "family friendly" appeal so people just tend to get drunk before hand, or they can buy the alcohol inside (at inflated prices)!

I can't follow Gridiron at all...we were in the US at Superbowl time and had no idea what they were playing! We were a bit suprised that they change teams as in the AFL the players run for the whole match, so are all pretty fit.

That's a different use of flour Persie never seen that in the recipe books sitting your bottom in the flour!

I'm wondering now how you got this burn ?? :-)

Does it matter which flour you use? self raising or plain ? not sure if you have those terms
