I do not have a log in problem Toots....yes I have to log in every day but I have to do that with ancestry FMP and FB now since we changed our anti virus thingy

I know other people are getting maintence messages on different boards.

One night all I could access was general chat quizzes and Games and Living rellies....what good is that to me :-)

Wooow !!! I feel really left out here as I can access all th boards with no problems.

The occasional maintenance message but no 'real' problems.

I DO have to keep logging in which I never have had to do before, but no 'major' disruption.

I too hope it lasts !!!

I agree Cyn

Newbies are coming on going straight to that ridiculous board and not seeing there are hundreds of people who are willing to help others on the main boards

Phil is also interested if you cannot access all the boards. One of the problems I had/have is I'd post on here then press find ancestorsand I will be reading the board and want to post only to find I've been logged out again. Reminds me a bit of when we used to get stuck in the surname board loop.

I think that the newbies are so focused on finding living relatives that they don't realise that there are a lot of blanks to fill in first. I've lost count of the pms I've sent explaining that asking for relative of Joe bloggs born 1860 should be on the ancestors board at least until we reach probable living persons.

Good morning all, hope everyone is well.

Pouring rain here, snow on the hills and freezing and only teh first week of Winter! Think we are in for a cold one!

Well party invitations written up and delivered this morning! My girl is very excited (when she remembers) as we have been to lots of birthdays these last few months and each time we go I have to explain that it is not her birthday...Sunday night I overheard her singing Happy Birthday to not me!

Just having a mcDonalds party with the family coming back to my place in teh afternoon. For some reason my girl loves crocodiles, so my neice is making her a crocodile cake (and here I thought I'd end up with a nice girly girl, not a strapping thing who loves to wrestle and roar like a dinosaur!)

Hope that you get some rest LK

Grace

don't worry

I didn't have a girly girl ...............

OH coached 1st year uni rugby players, and she loved going with him from about the same age as your little one. Spent a lot of time rolling in the mud on the sidelines!

she loved playing with toy cars and trucks, was building things with Meccano by the age of 8 or 9, loved Duplo and Lego, etc etc

BUT she did also love dolls and soft toys

and loves getting dressed up now .................... as well getting down and dirty in the garden!

My eldest was a bit girly but the youngest Nooo not until she was 13 a year ago.
I can only remember her having one dress when she was about 2 she would'nt wear them and she never ever had a doll, refused anything barbie and was disapointed we bought her a barbie scooter when she want Thomas the tank.

From the age of 7 to 12 you never saw her wear anything that was'nt a Liverpool shirt and she also played football until then, but after that she had to stop because they would'nt allow mixed teams. There are no girl teams locally to her unfortunatly, I would'nt mind her carrying on at least it would keep her fit.

Now she is girly thankfully.

LOl hi all.

She is girly in that she loves her hair (it's long and curly and I would KILL for it) but she too loves trucks and cars, and being LOUD!

She'll mostly wear a dress but now that she is learning how to dress she tries very hard to take of her tights or stocking because they "noying' :-D

I assume that people who do genealogy can read and surely to reach your objective you follow the instructions given. It aint hard, I was a newbie once I didn't go searching where I shouldn't.

I do think when people get PMs sent to them Jax they read what they want to see and then come up with ludicrous replies. I don't think some of them even realise that when they are replying they can scroll down and see the message again... well I know a few of mine didn't till I went back and said please read again and itemise your reply accordingly etc.

I get pmd from overseas people who seem to think I can just pop along the road somewhere and find their living relative... questions like do you know so and so. Helllooooo ... ok so there is only approx. 4 and half million of us but it is not the bar at Cheers, not everyone knows each other's names.

Now if I lived in Tasmania - there pop has I think just gone over the half million mark so I probably would know everyone there LOL.

I can't count the number of times we have met someone in the UK ..... in a shop or on the street ..... who's said "Canada, eh? I have a cousin who lives in Toronto. You must know her"

Err ........ Toronto has about 5 million people, and is about 4000 km away from me!
