Pers,

Ginny is not likely to partake of either of your offerings in fact she will probably ex-communicate you for making them ;-)

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 8 Jun 2011 06:56

ginny is outnumbered of course ;-)

As I don't know what either of the proffered items are......I may decline until further notice. :-S

I will stick to my usual meanderings around the breakfast table - picking up some cereal and, maybe, some toast.....thanks Sylvs.

No grandchildren today...hmmmm......must get grandson's birthday card done ready for his big day on Friday. I asked if he wanted a 'normal' card or one of my home made 'photos with rhymes' cards. He has requested one I have made my self and he would like it 'big, with 3 pages please'. No pressure then ;-)

Have a good day all...~~~~~~

I'll just grab a coffee. The roads close for the racing today so want to get out before then. Hope it brightens up otherwise they will be cancelled and there will be more disruption tomorrow. It's just started raining so not looking good

I thank you very kindly for your additions to the breakfast table Persie but I am afraid I will be sticking with Sylvia's fayre.

I had to google to find out what they were......... :-D

I am 'lergic' to seafood and couldn't possibly eat those birds when I have just seen lots of cute pictures of them.

Thank you though for bringing us a 'treat', perhaps you could bring something we are a little more 'familiar with' next time.

Well that got you all going... I have been having all sorts of site problems but I have got it sorted by coming on through google... defaults to UK site and then I change it to za and now most of it really really works........ as the saying goes " it is just like a bought one"

I love paua (abalone) and toheroas, tuatuas are a bit salty but pipis, mussels, oysters, scallops, cockles and clams are all up there with my favourites. We are surrounded by good seafood ... Ginny google Kina ... I won't eat them but a lot of my friends do.

And in Tasmania I really broadened my horizons and had curried scallops pie. I had never heard of doing that with them, but it was declicious. They do some lovely pies in OZ and have lots of bakeries where they sell well..... cauliflower mornay was a favourite of mine.

So Moreton Bay Bugs for tomorrow then?

I made Paua fritters when my kids were little and they came out looking very dark green and I got a chorus of " Not silverbeet fritters Mum oh yuk" ..... you probably don't have silverbeet either but it is a prolific grower over here.

No Jax I was not talkin' about you and your friend LOL.

OOhhhh Persie ----------Horrible creepy spinedy looking thing......Yuckkkk!!!!!!!! - I couldn't eat that if you paid me (millions !!)

However, it was interesting as I have one of those shells they live in on my sideboard!

It is VERY pretty and I always wondered what it was and where it came from. I think I bought it for a few pence in a charity shop of at a jumble sale over 30 years ago!

Anyway, I now know what it is. - SO pleased it is now empty :-D :-D
