Good morning everyone,

Hope that you had a nice weekend. It is a lovely sunny Monday here, very mild day predicted (before it is to change and become cold again)! I am going to a wedding on Friday and it is expected to be very cold and wet...poor couple Spring is so unpredictable!

Had a massive house clean on Saturday, I don't know what got into me! Changed all the beds did ten million loads of washing, washed and tidied all my kitchen drawers, scrubbed the bathroom to within an inch of its lofe, cleaned the windows and vacummed. Went to have a nice shower and a pipe had burst in the street so no water for 5 hours lol just my luck! Beautiful weather though, windy and sunny and all the windows and doors open!

I expect Pers is off gallivanting instead of fulfilling her home duties doing breakfast ;-)

Persephone Report 5 Sep 2011 07:17

No I was not gallavanting, merely working outside.... it has just got cold and so came in and have been doing a bit of tidy up... and just stuck my cottage pie in the oven.

As for breakfast you will have to make do

With pancakes and Maple syrup, grand marnier or golden syrup.

Cereals in the pantry

Hot = Mushroom quiche, spanakopita, falafels in pita pockets, or aubergine parmigana.

There is sides of bacon, sausages and hash browns.

Chocolate muffins, and a bread & butter pudding with whisky in it, gluten free, or pumpkin scones (gluten free)

Coffee, and drinks on the bar.

Lovely breakfast Persie!! - Thank you .............

I have never had spanakopita before - It is really delicious <3

I have had some of everything (except the aubergine) and I am SO full, I think I might 'burst' :-D

Better let it settle a bit before I attempt to do anything strenuous ;-)

See you all later,

Glad you like the spanakopita, it is very popular here... and I used the best filo pastry... I love cooking with filo.

Do you not like eggplants ... I use them for moussaka as well. My daughter makes hers with potatoes but I prefer the aubergines. I have that in a couple of our Middle eastern places in preference to their doner kebabs... they have spanakopitas too but prefer my own.

Aubergine is not one of my favourites Persie, though it does depend on how it is cooked!

What ever you do - don't let Cynthia loose on the spanakopita - it is a bit tricky to eat without making lots of crumbs and she is renowned for being VERY messy with her crumbs !! ;-)

Mind you, she does always tidy up afterwards :-D
