Crudites and dips anyone ???

I can also offer a warm goats cheese salad, dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, or a warm salad with chicken tikka topping .

No puds, I am afraid but, hey - you have all had a big lunch havent you ???

I DO have some delicious dark chocolate with ginger or with orange peel! - Both equally delicious !!

We can all nibble on those!

Anyone going to make some REALLY nice coffee to go with it ??

I dont do coffee but I will try the warm goats cheese salad, dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar so long as the vinegar is very old and thick/sweet and the cheese is very mild :-D Fussy so and so I am!

Ja..x the free anti virus are good, with the paid version you just get additional extras like email scanner and spam watch etc but the anti virus is the same free or paid

Are the Royal Marines C1902 the same as the Royal Navy please?

FannyByGaslight Report 4 Sep 2011 21:51

OK..Got him...But that makes it worse...Grrrrr.

Born St Pancras on 1911,born Camden Town on WW1 records and Born Broad Oak Essex on Naval records Arghhhhhhhhhhh.

But at least he does keep the same name and date of birth....But a VERY common or garden name...Sigh..

Perks up
At least its not Smith or Jones.. :-D

jax Report 4 Sep 2011 22:06

Cynthia Report 4 Sep 2011 22:19

The Royal Marines are part of the Naval service along with the Royal Navy.

My grandad was a Royal Marine. I got his records from the NA.

There is a website for the RMs.

Night all ~~~~~~~~~

FannyByGaslight Report 4 Sep 2011 22:38

And no sign of a birth in St Pancras or Essex area for him and he does give same date of birth on everything...

What would Broad Oak come under for reg Jax?

jax

jax Report 4 Sep 2011 22:46

It could come under Hertfordshire some of my lot were born in Ware, sawbridgeworth, Bishops Stortford, Takely its on the border with Essex and Hertfordshire

It is sometimes called Hatfield Broad Oak reg district could be Dunmow, but if you have looked at Essex it may not be there then

ja...x

Just looked up three of Mine that say Broad Oak and they were all registered in Dunmow

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 4 Sep 2011 23:24

Thats the exact place he gives on Naval records...Hatfield, Broad Oak,Essex...

But St Pancras on 1911 and Camden Town on WW1 records....

But the addy he gave for next of kin in 1901 does have his surname at it,so may have something to work with there, although he gives his next of kin as a different surname....and its almost illegible.....BIG sigh.

Marriage cert really needed here for fathers name if he knew it,not that I think witnesses will be any good though as he married many many miles from London...

More sighs....Gives up until tomorrow now as going boss eyed....

:-S
