'Nuclear Medicine' Sylvs ???

Sounds like when I had my thyroid ablated with radio active iodine several years ago!

I was told I would be radfio-active and so couldn't go into work or anywhere near pregnant ladies. - I had to flush the toilet at least twice and could not travel home by public transport etc. etc.

I remember driving home in my car, wondering if something strange would happen - my husband was away and I sent my son and his 'then' girlfriend away.

I went into my office at night when everyone else was one to catch up with my work and the first night I lay awake half of the night wondering if I was 'glowing' in the dark. !!

Very strange feeling !

What on earth is 'Nuclear Medicine' ??

Dea

I don't know!!

I do know that I have to have a dye injected close to the site of the cancer, that this dye then travels to the lymph nodes, and will thus identify the Sentinel node so that the surgeon knows which one to remove for pathology.

I have no idea whether the dye is radio-active ................. but am suspicious of the fact that I am going to Nuclear Medicine!

could be interesting!

I got a prezzie yesterday

from daughter

made by her own fair hands, by loom knitting

a fluorescent pink boa (or short stole)

you know, that fluorescent pink they use for breast cancer things?

It actually has a certain attractiveness to it ........ though OH did say "Oh my gawd" when he saw it!

She also sent a card that was filled with little tiny pink and white "ribbons", tied in open bows

It's actually very warm .......... I felt a bit chilly round the shoulders yesterday evening, and it was handy

I had to take it off a few minutes later because I was so warm with it on!
