The mattress, or bed system, that blows my mind is one called Dux ...... apparently from Sweden, or somw such place

They offer rebates of $500 or $1000 if you buy a new mattress or system from them

What the h*** do they cost if they can give you that much of a rebate?????

This afternoon I'm going to make a stew ..... I'll have some for my dinner, then freeze portions. That means we have stew, fish pie and shepherd's pie in the freezer if OH can't think of what to cook over the next 2 weeks.

He is the main cook in the house, anyway!

I got new frames for my glasses yesterday. I only got these glasses last November, but I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the top on one side had got scratched and lost its colour.

I took them in on Wednesday, and they ordered a new replacement pair of frames. They arrived on Friday morning!.

Chatting to the optician as he fitted them again, I discovered that they have found that many of these colour metal frames do in fact get scratched very easily ................ the manufacturers seem to accept it because he said they have extended their warranty to the optician, and send replacement frames without any question!

They don't seem to be doing any research into the reason why.

The optician said one problem might be that I do have my glasses on a cord for when I take them off (they're reading glasses)....... and they may hit the edge of a desk, table or such, and so get scratched. I don't wear clip-on sunglasses or over-the-glasses sunglasses ...................... but have wondered whether the seatbelt in the car might have rubbed the frame?

Anyway, they were replaced at no cost to me!

Mine is 7 years old it was expensive and has only had me in it most of the time...so not much wear and tear....when I bought it a hard mattress suited me but ....not now

I remember before I went to cancun I used to read the reviews about the hotel and nearly everyone complained about the beds being too hard....when I got there I found the bed softer than the one back home...so it must be hard :-D

Thanks Sylvs. Sleep tight.

Seems like I started summat over the mattresses! Ours was expensive too and probably about 10 years old. We turn it regularly but, because OH sleeps semi-sitting (because of health probs), it develops a slight dip. I'm fine on it but he tends to slip a bit. Thinking caps on.

Must rush..........~~~

Cheesy potato patties, broccoli and mushroom omelette, grilled tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, baked beans.....yurmmmmmm thank you :-D

I got us a new bed and mattress when we had the bedroom done, the mattress is a mix of mattress stuff and the top is that memory foam, you dont turn it over just turn in around

The pillows are ace....memory foam on one side and a nice feather like feel on the other, I think they were about £12 each but well worth worth it.....and no looking like you f###'' a duck when making the bed!!!

We need to get our bed fixed...it did get broken. Also need a new mattress but have to get it made special like the bed. It isn't a normal Queen Size bed because it has to fit in the mezzanine space and I have to be able to walk around the end of it rather than clamber over it.

Hi... I am back.

Persie :-)
