Enjoy Cynths ..............................

Sylvia should be home soon - I still can't believe that you only need an overnight stay for such a major operation !!

Anyway, I am sure that is where she would want to be !

Been to the Docs today - arranged more tests, blood test, scans, etc.

That was all O.K. but then had my Flu jab !!!

Can't believe how painful this is - It was the same last year !! - Hugely swollen injection sirte - painful injection, 5 hour later - freezing cold and shivering, terrible headache and feeling really unwell !!

I put the central heating on, closed all the windows and sat here with my dressing gown over all my clothes and an extra cardie for about 2 hours!

Wearing off now but will have the VERY sore arm for about a week, I seem to remember!

Still, if I catch the Flu with the problems I have, I think it would probably 'see me off' so I suppose it is worth it !!

Got to Sytners this morning to drop the car off and pick up courtesy car

Met by the MD...Good morning Mrs xxxxx....guided to reception.....anything I wanted and all the morning papers and staff calling me by name

Next....Mrs xxxx you are a Utd fan? ( he saw the badge in the car) Yes I am, for my sins! Would you be interested in two VIP tickets to the next home game....5 star meal, tour of the club, free drinks and a meeting with the players?

Well yes, that would be nice!

Also, free key rings, which cost something I wouldn’t pay for and of course the car 'healed' and cleaned!

That’s what I call service....and while ever I can pay for it I will, otherwise it’s the local garage!

Wow Ginns - that is SO impressive!!!

My car is a 22 year old Mazda something or other and I take it to the Co-op garage every year for it's MOT - Thirty something pounds and it always 'sails through' !!!

'You gets what you pays for' as the saying goes !!! :-

Enjoy..................

D'you know Dea - I liked the old Mazdas - used to love the 323.

I've got a new one and I hate it! It's getting traded in soon.

Dea

Dea Report 21 Sep 2011 21:38

Mine is a 121, I think, or maybe a 124??

Anyway, It's just lovely !!!

My garage will tell me when it gets to the stage when I need to change it ! -I trust them !!

Not always Dea...sometimes you can pay through the nose and get a bad deal...but Sytners in Sheffield is known for its service

....and so they should be they are excellent in everything they do. You dont even worry about the car and if they can sort it...you know they can!

Gosh you have good hearing Gins...

I do hope Dea is feeling a lot better.... these darn flu injections can certainly make you feel miserable. I had a small lump removed from my shoulder before winter set in here and at the same time I had my flu injection... when I went back a week or so later to get the stitches out etc the nurse asked how it had been. I said it was fine it was the flu injection that was the curse.. and she said she had had the same reaction to hers.

So Dea my darling at your request one Indian breakfast coming up

Persie :-)

Persephone

Persephone Report 22 Sep 2011 06:45

Jeeraka Kanji or Daliya

Vege pakoras or paneer pakoras

Vege Samosas rather hot & spicy.

Vege Korma - mild

Naan bread with fruit chutney or apple sauce.
Garlic Naan.

Folded over Roti filled with spicey scrambled eggs (has turmeric, coriander, spring onions, cumin, deseeded tomatoes and yoghurt - so they are fairly mild)

Poori .... which are bready type balls fried in oil.. gluten free.

Potato Parathas... for Gins

I found some bacon in Sylvia's hidey hole so that is there if you want to add it to your meal...

I don't do Punjabi/HIndi sweet foods, they are too icky gooey for me.

So there are strawberry muffins, apricot shortcake and blueberry danish.

Organic coffee, Tea, and Milo... or Almond honey milk.

All the flour used is gluten free... <3

Dea

Dea Report 22 Sep 2011 07:01

Ohhh - thank you Persie!

I will have some of everything please, then the apricot shortcake !!!

I agree with you about the 'sweet foods' - they are just TOOoooo sweet for me too ;-)

This is indeed, VERY lovely again Persie, and Ginns will be 'in her element' when she sees it all <3

Thank you Persie,

Dea Xxx

P.S. - the arm is still VERY painful but the rest of me feels better now

As NHS contractors working with the elderly we have been told we get priority for the flu jab but I have heard so many horror stories I have not had it. My oldest had one several years ago and ended up in Guys hospital on steroids.
