If anyone feels able to help here OH and daughter are doing a 15 mile walk for charity on Friday through London at night. It is called the Carrots night walk and they are raising money for the charity 'Fight for Sight' who research eye conditions to help prevent blindness. This is a very worthy cause and they have been training loads for it. You can sponsor them at their Just Giving page

Good morning one and all.

I am sure you will be pleased to hear that our Sylvs is now home and doing well. She is tired - as is to be expected but, no doubt, she will be back 'treading' these boards in no time at all.

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Um.......have never really tried an exotic breakfast before, so I guess now is the time to start. Just getting my plate and hoping Dea leaves me something to try.

The chap next door is having something done to his chimney and they are going to repoint ours as well......lots of banging and clattering has been going on but it's all quiet now. Hope he ain't fallen orf the roof :-S

Better go my shower I think.... ~~~~

Just going to take a look at your link LK - hope they keep safe walking around London at night !

Well done to them though - it sounds like a very good cause.

Re the flu jab, I have to have it every year now and this is the first time I have felt quite so poorly with it. Usually the arm is VERY painful for about a week but for me, the benefits outweigh the negatives. - I just cannot afford to get flu nowadays - it would certainly see me in hospital and, very likely, even worse!

You have to decide for yourself though.

AoGG seems happy....look at that grin....... :-D

We tend to have the jab and forget about it. Maybe we're just fortunate.

OH has to have one too Dea. I have the option and get it done at the hosp because I am a volunteer.

Chimney all sorted and gutters cleaned. An amazing amount of gunk, yuk and filth was up there plus 3 or 4 tennis balls. I really must stop playing ball out there!

Morning all,

Great news for Sylvia, glad everything has gone well :-)

Nice sunny day here but expected to change and pour down again. Spring in Melbourne you can never plan anything around the weather!

Dea hope you feel better soon. I have had the flu shot for the last few years, this year though everyone who had the injection (they come to my work) on the day, have been quite sick on and off. I don't think I will have it anymore, I had the worst year for getting colds etc than I have had for years!

Thanks for breakfast Persie, I like trying new things :-D

Persephone Report 23 Sep 2011 02:02

I quite liked having the flu injection when I was working... one got a lollipop from the health dept. I was always surprised at how few people took the opportunity to have it done with the company footing the bill.
Now I get it free because of asthma... I managed to first have asthma about two years before I finished work so it worked out well.

Now that I have seen what FBG has put up about asthma makes me a trifle worried as I had an awful time with asthma when I got a cold in May then I had what LK is having. I must discuss Fans with the nurse next time I am at the medical practice.

Pleased to see that Cyns is ok in the flu and flue department. Someone must be a bad racqueteer... oh balls .....

Looking forward to seeing you soon Sylvia.... would you like me to bring in the tea - trolley with some lemon meringue tart, home made scones and a chocolate log.

:-) :-) :-) To Ann of G.... Sylvia will appreciate your cheery face making an appearance.

Pxx ;-)

Persephone Report 23 Sep 2011 07:07

Pide is Turkish bread and one's like these are a little like a panini only nicer.

There is another one but I could not remember its name oh and pide is pronounced like peeday to rhyme with bidet... my daughter corrected me once when I asked for pide as in tide... :-S

Have a nice day all....

hugs for Sylvia and a few left over for Renes as well. <3 <3 <3
