Dear oh dear Gins. You've never heard of sheeting rain????? :-P

Bank details......just shows you shouldn't share them around........ :-P

Think I've finally broken the back of my Christmas wrapping thank goodness.

Just watching the news and the atrocious weather in Scotland.......those poor Scots do catch it don't they?

Will check and see how my tree is.......

It is REALLY windy here too - I went to the supermarket and could only just stand up as I went to get a trolley!

By the time I got inside, I had to stand in a corner for 5 minutes, puffing on my inhaler struggling to breath before I could start my shopping :-(

The staff were very attentive (bless 'em!) and kept trying to get me to sit down, I told them I would be O.K. in a few minutes and was fine propped up against the wall (Really, I couldn't have got over to where the seats were until I had got the breathing going again) :-D :-D

I was very glad to get back home - this windy weather is no good for me!!

Genes 8 Dec 2011 15:38

Hi everyone, as you know there have been ongoing performance issues for several months now. Our most experienced Genes developer, Toby, has been working on this for the last week. He has made some improvements so that changes which are normally made via our live database are now actioned in the background. This means that the live database isn't drawn on so much, which is why performance has been affected. This is a work in progress and Toby will continue to make changes over the coming week. We'd like to thank you for alerting us to the problems you've experienced. We are really sorry it has taken so long to resolve. However, you should start to see an improvement. Please bear with us as these changes will be gradual, but we're confident that you will find the site is working much better than it has been.

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Haven't looked at my tree in months and months, so I've no idea whether anything has changed on there!

Thank goodness for Oldham Sylvs........I'm sure Gins thinks I was making it up....... :-D

My tree seems okay. Truth will out when I do any work on it I guess.

My friend has had her op and all has gone well. She has just tried to phone me but her phone keeps cutting out.........oh..that's better - it's working properly. She is rather down and very tired but that is to be expected. I really hope the physios can soon sort out her mobility.

Poor Dea.........I can just imagine how you were nearly blown over - it's been horrendous. Didn't go for stamps after all - chickened out. Went out to the garage for something and gave the neighbours a shock - was wearing a flary skirt and the wind caught it..............whooops.

Dea

Dea Report 8 Dec 2011 20:03

So Cynths - Does that mean your friend 'did' break her hip then? - I must have missed something on here?

it's very calm here, no wind at all

..... although the weatherman says it might get windy later, and blow away the grey clouds

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 8 Dec 2011 20:40

we're going to have to feed you up, Dea!

Actually .... weather warning for you all ..........................

The East Coast of the US and Canada are having very strong winds (even being called a "weather bomb"). Wnds are over 100 km strong

People in Halifax NS, have been seen clinging to lamp posts to avoid being blown over.

These storms often make it over to the UK in about a week.

Morning all, opposite weather here Hot hot and hot..yuck. I so should have been born in a colder country, I hate the heat!

Hoep everyone is okay, hope your breathing is easier Dea, it has been a bad year here for asthma sufferers my dr said. It must be awful to get it like that..

Congrats for your daughter Persie, (I'd notice the rippling muscles as well), glad that you had a good day and good weather!

Gosh I feel so slack this year I haven't done ANY shopping for Christmas yet, only bits and pieces for Gracie....every time I try to, something else happens. i was supposed to go last night but I came home from work to use one of this group's expressions, completely cream crackered! :-)

Dea

Dea Report 8 Dec 2011 21:37

You take care Gracie - you want to have a nice Christmas with your lovely little girl but don't try too hard and exhaust yourself!

You are still 'recovering' and, at the end of the day, all she will want is a load of christmas wrapping, lots ofcellotape to tear orf, a few 'sparklies' and her mum and dad sharing it all with her!!

'Happy time' spent together is the most important !!

Hi Dea,

I will, I actually thought last night I have been doing a bit too much running around so I intend to have a moderately quiet weekend, only one Christmas catchup Saturday morning and that's it.

Gracie has asked Santa to bring chocolate, yoghurt and weet bix, grocery shopping for her!

Gee

Gee Report 8 Dec 2011 21:49

Dea

Dea Report 8 Dec 2011 21:59

There you go Gracie - she doesn't need all the things you think she does and that you are struggling to find in the shops !!

Just a few 'familiar treats' and her mum and dad!

Good stuff on Radio4 extra also Ginns !!!

Sherlock Holmes, Petrella, and lots more !!!

I much prefer radio to television!
