I will go and do the small kids Christmas shopping tomorrow... it was bedlam down at the mall around lunch time today... so I though stuff that for a game of soldiers... I will go early on Sat morning before the hoards arrive.

I think my oldest grandson Evan could do with me giving his hair a tidy up... His mother cut it and it looks terrible... mind you there is not much left to tidy.. don't think he would appreciate me saying that is his Christmas present from me... he is not bovvered by his hair but his older sisters think it looks frightful. He loves lego and computer games so I know I can do the lego but the computer games.. are a bit of a mystery to me. At least I make the guys in the shop laugh with my lack of knowledge when I go in there.

I have got the sixteen year old sorted but it is madame 14 that always gives me the problem.. has ever since she was 11. I think she works on the Henry Ford theory... any colour as long as it is black.

Dea,

Asthma is a real buddy bast... it is so annoying... petrol fumes can set me gasping... and do you think I can get him to shut the car door whilst he is filling up... strange thing is I am okay if I get out of the car. My friend has been told that her baby has probably got it... he is wheezing quite badly the other day. Her first child was the same.. but it seems to have missed the middle one.... she is another little fairy princess like little Gracie.

I tell you what Sylv, I can ramble on... I could do several posts to fill up the boards... but yes they are very quiet... the searching for ancestors and living rellies both move very slowly these days.

The highlight on the threads would be your breakfasts...

Did I see F by G pop in and do the fandango>>>>>>> ??

I am usually so organised and when I was working... I would pick up things here and there throughout the year...

Wonder if I have got in a rut.. I still get out and about all the time.. but have gone all negative about shopping. I will probably have had enough within a short while when I am out tomorrow and will end up in the library..

My youngest is having an operation on 13th and she is now saying she will spend Christmas in bed... she won't though.. coz it will be August's first Christmas .. but he is completely unaware of commercialism and one toy is much the same as another as long as one can put it in one's mouth.

aaaah

those first 2 or 3 years are so nice, when they are completely unaware of the "in" toy!

I was the same when I was working, Persie.

I'd pick up things through the year ..... especially if we went away to a different place for a holiday. That was a good way to get presents for a lot of people ...... handcrafts etc, and usually not too expensive.

But, you know .................. it just does not feel as though it is Christmas time. It feels as if we should still have a couple of months to go, not a couple of weeks :-0

Good morning all !

Nice to see you back Persie - Sylvia has been very lonely.

Now she has you and Gracie back to keep her company. :-)

Breakfast was lovely Sylvia - today is a 'rush about' day so I really need a good start. - Grandson will be arriving soon and we pick up grand-daughter later.

Christmas shopping is totally different here this year! - I ventured out the other day and found that all the shopps were quite empty! - Very little stock on the shelves and hardly any people :-S

I suppose it is because SO many people have lost their jobs - there is no work and so no money about so hardly anyone is spending :-( :-(

Dea

People seem to be buying over here ..... just not as much as they used to do.

And they are looking for bargains.

All the shops have good sales on ................. their pre-Boxing Day Sales!

But they also don't seem to have quite as much stock in as they once might have had.

Night Sylvs.......sleep tight and thank you for breakfast.

I have been sorting out a pm I received this morning. The chap lives in Australia and seems to thinks GR only functions to GMT times. I was tempted to tell him that our jax is around at ALL times of the night, but thought better of it!! I should also tell him that if he stays around, it would keep our Sylvs from being bored. :-P

It doesn't feel like Christmas at all but that is probably my own fault. I can't wait for the 6th January to arrive and we can put it all behind us again.

The book shop in town seems quite busy everytime I go in but, in the newspapers this week, I see that we are being informed how many children don't own a single book.......presumably it means they concentrate more on computer stuff :-S

Persie, don't you find that acting all gormless in a computer shop helps? I get things explained to me much better if I look totally vacant :-D

The shops are generally quite busy to be honest and many of them have their sales on now......presumably to get trade.

I sometimes glance at the Home page at the number of posts which are supposedly have been made in the last hour - wonder where they get the figures from with the boards being so slow??

Anyway, it's stopped raining so I may nip out for some stamps..... ~~~
