Hi all
xx

sunny, at the moment!

had about 1-2 cm snow when I looked out at about 7 am this morning.

Since then we've had rain, sun, dark clouds, and now sun again

and the snow has almost all gone!

OH's journey took a long time:-

The plane left Vancouver at ca 2:15 am London time, arrived in London just before noon, then he had about 4 hours to wait, before catching the flight to Manchester. That plane arrived in Manchester at about 5:45 pm, and then they had to drive to their destination.

He had to be at Vancouver Airport 3 hours before departure, and so he left home at about 10:45 pm London time.

so, it took about 19 hours from our house to Manchester, and then however long it took to drive.

Shouldn't have taken him too long from Manchester to Cheshire Sylvs...good motorway links. Bet he was tired though.

Are you coping in your solitude??? :-D

Hi C
xx

I'm having a great time!

I love it when he goes away for a few days.

The year he and J spent in NZ while I stayed here was not so much fun ... and also took a lot of adjustment after they returned, because I had made changes in the house . :-)

But I get to really do what I want or eat what I want for a few days, without having to think about anyone else :-D

Sylvia

Unbelievable over 6 hours from Heathrow to Manchester just over 158 miles

Not very good connection ---

SylviaInCanada Report 14 Jan 2012 22:02

Hi Renes

yes ..... but Air Canada's partner is British Midland

... and it always makes it easier (and cheaper) to travel with the partner.

There might well have been an earlier plane from London to M/c ............ but then he would have had to claim his bag, gone through Immigration and Customs, then haul the case over to the other Terminal, look after it until it was time to check-in, and then line up to check his bag in.

Using BM meant that he just had to claim his bag and take it through Customs ............ then hand it back to the airline to transfer it over to BM. He then just had to get himself and carry-on over to the other Terminal

Cynthia - you are VERY naughty!!!!

Ginns - well done with the weight loss [I have to agree with Cyns though cos I havent been a size 10 since I was about 8 yrs!!!]

Sylvia - enjoy the time on your own - it wont last for long enough [when I get time on my own I am like a child in a sweet shop and spend SOOO much time thinking what I will or wont do - that before I know it the time has gone!!! lol]
ps/ you are a wonderful cook .... that butternut squash soup was to die for!!!

Dea - Ginns is correct - you should never try a sit-up with your legs straight - they should be bent at the knee with your feet on the floor!! [I have always had trouble doing them too!] + you should always pull your stomach in before you attempt the sit-up!!!

I am glad to hear that you are all well - I am still playing with my Kindle and waiting to see if I have won any more prizes!!! Notification of prizes is until the 20th!!!

I havent got my book yet [as it went back to the post office as no-one in when the postman delivered!!! if you dont have transport to get to the sorting office what are you supposed to do!!!] but my son is to pick it up tomorrow for me. xxx
