Fresh fruit salad with vanilla yoghourt
broiled grapefruit with brown sugar

Porridge with chopped up dates, bananas, and maple syrup (other fruit selections over there >>>> )

Selection of cold cereals

French (eggy) toast, maple syrup, Golden syrup


Toast (sourdough, rye, white, whole grain, 100% brown, Hovis, gluten free),
hot cinnamon rolls,
cheddar chive rolls,
brie, onion and red pepper focaccia

Gruyere and bacon quiche
stir fry (chicken or vegetarian)

crunchy-top blueberry muffins, pear ginger muffins

jams, jellies


Tea, coffee, juices


(some bacon, turkey sausage or sausage patties, eggs, tomatoes, olive oil, in the hidey place to cook up for the very hungry ones!)

What I am wondering is why you lot were sitting cross legged on the floor in the first place. Don't you have any chairs in your houses?

I never mentioned that I was on the floor, not even under the table... stupid table it is too it's round and the legs splay out from the centre piece and they have ridges and grooves and I have to crawl under there to clean them. I by large circular cloths which hang well down in the hope no one will notice......

I have neighbours like that - we don't really see much of each other but if any of us had a problem we could knock on any door and they would be there to help! - It is very reassuring!

I'm just envious of those of you who can stand up from sitting on the floor I have enough trouble standing up from sitting on a chair! :-D




Persie, our dining room table is rectangular with two broad central struts and splayed out wotsits. I gave up crawling underneath - I use a long handled duster thingy instead. Much easier.


Does anyone else dust their broad leaved indoor plants??? :-S

I clean my plants with kitchen roll and olive oil......gives them a gorgeous shine and they seems to thrive

Thanks Dea, I was really hoping for about 3 or 4 in the first week but I will be back into those clothes hanging there, taunting me

I guess you dont put 2 stones on in a week, so its gonna be a long hard road but one that I will travel

I suppose its harder to lose when you are in your 40s as opposed to 20s

Im upping the hoola hoop and sit ups this week, so fingers crossed for the next weigh in

I still have some size 10's in 'my' wardrobe Ginns - I really MUST get rid of them !

At least you will get back into your's - I will never get back into mine from my little size 6's :-(

I have been 'working' today! - I washed down the paintwork on ONE of my internal doors! ;-) :-D

Trouble is - that one is now white while all the other 11 are still a sort of creamy colour !!

It will take me months to get the rest done :-D :-D :-D

Why dont you think about getting a cleaning firm in to do a full deep clean and then you might be able to keep on top of things from there?

No - I am getting there Ginns! - I am quite proud of my clean white door :-D :-D

Anyway, I would be far to embarrased to let anyone have a real deep down look at the state of my house !

One bit at a time ;-)

Perhaps when I get everywhere 'half clean', I will call someone in to sort it properly.
