Hi everyone,

Sylvia glad the funeral went well.

It's awful when the planning people are allowed to do what they want. We have lost so many nice older houses because they can cram modern blocks of apartments that are soo bland and are just put up quick as...

Had weigh in yesterday and lost 2.1 pounds in my first week, happy with that so far!

Went out for dinner last night with OH and monster as it was his birthday. Place was packed. Unfortunately the food was quite expensive and not the best we have ever eaten. Luckily they had tables outside so when we finished we sat out in the cool breeze and monster played in a big swing/slide area for ages.

Hi Grace

Happy birthday to OH

It's always disappointing when places don't come up to expectations! Had you been there before?

Hi Sylvia,

No, OH had passed it lots of times and thought it looked nice.

It was a shame, that was all as he organsied it all and he really wanted a nice meal!

never mind, Gracie had a lovely time playing with two other little girls she found so it was nice to spend time together and not have to rush off somewhere!

Finally having a small break from the heat for today, then it starts to climb again tomorrow :-(

Well done on your weight loss this week............I hope you behaved yourself when you ate out ;-)

So it seems flats, luxury appartments are not restricted to the UK!

Everywhere you here, they throw them up, mainly in and around the city centre. The private ones cost a fortune and usually sit at the side of busy traffic....give me green and birds any day

Then of course, there are the student appartments.....thousands of em as we have two very large Unis here in the city

Morning Syl

Im going to have some boiling hot porridge with a splodge of cold yoghurt in the middle.....thank you <3

Forgot to say that most of those luxury appartments remain empty due to the price and location. Families dont want them and they are too expensive for most singles at £250K!

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 19 Jan 2012 06:47

oh, they sell quite well over here ....... although this isn't quite the area.

Luxury apartments and condos right in the heart of downtown are all the thing these days ............... exorbitant prices, whether to rent or for sale!

Good heaven's....it HAS been a quiet day today....... :-S

Mixed day for me really. Visitors this morning - haircut at lunchtime and ironing this afternoon. All done now... :-D

I've been looking at the comments both on here and on FB re the new tree format. I like it and have been learning how to use it but there are lots of members moaning about it. To be honest, I don't think they have explored it thoroughly and are crying before they are hurt. :-S

Lovely and warm in my house today with its new woolly-lined walls!! <3 It certainly makes a BIG difference!
