Happy birthday to your granddaughter Dea.....hope she had a lovely day. My son was working today so not much fun....but.....they are going away for the weekend. :-D

Shows how much notice my kids take when they are here.....not one word about the new curtains!!!! :-S

Glad your granddaughter is better Linds......I use to mash parsnip into potatoes and no one ever guessed!!

So you have now got light again Gins....good. I can just about cope with a power cut but absolutely hate the water being off. :-(

Night night all..........

Going to bed now but 35 miles per hour winds are blowing so I can't keep my window open :-( :-(

I don't sleep well if my window is closed so I will be 'zombified' in the morning

Nite nites all <3

Hi all
xx

only just got on here

We are having lovely weather here ................. sunny, and blue skies. The problem is that it comes courtesy of an Arctic Front ................... so it's flippin' cold out there!

It is expected to get down here to about -9C tonight, with a wind chill making it feel more like -15C ....... elsewhere in the province it will be down to -25C, and feeling like close to -35C :-(

It's also very windy this evening

Turn up the heating, put on an extra sweater ............. and go out well wrapped up!!!

I have seen reports of the horrible weather in the UK. Terrible!

take care everyone

OH is better today, thank you!

It was that 24 hour bug that is going round, seemingly everywhere.

I had it in Halifax 2 weeks ago ...................... the diarrhea is bad, but it is the terrible fatigue that got me down, and I suspect OH also!

I slept on the hide-a-bed in the family room last night, in its single bed "mode".

I was very comfortable, and slept all night :-D

He went into the university today, but came home early, took me for coffee, then went to bed for a nap, before having toast for "dinner", and off to choir practice ...........................

so he must be feeling better :-)

Mornin all~~~~~~

I think I missed sending birthday wishes..........happy belated birthdays

Sylvs.......too much detail :-0

Kettle is on.................

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 6 Feb 2014 08:52

Good morning and thank you for putting the kettle on Gins.

I guess our Dea is in a state of somnulisation??? (Is that a word?) I will get some bacon and mushrooms going for her though.

I hope Gins had something to eat before dashing off wherever she was dashing to.

Sylvs, where would we be without toast? I have just had 2 slices myself.....I was a bit peckish..... :-)

Washing is on the line - don't know how long for and I have some dusting to do before I go into town. After lunch, if it isn't raining, it's time to take my friend out for coffee.

Then we have our late lamented visitor's daughter calling round tonight.

Tis all go...... xxx ~~

Dea

Dea Report 6 Feb 2014 09:29

Ooooh, thank you both - a lovely cuppa and a delicious breakfast to wake me up <3 <3

I think you might mean 'somnambulation' Cynths but I knew exactly what you meant ;-) :-D

I always sleep with the window open, even if only just a 'crack' but last night the wind was howling so loudly and the curtains were blowing madly even with it open that much so I had to close it or hubby would have demanded a divorce, I think :-D :-D

If the window is closed I wake up with a 'stuffy head' and bleary eyes as if I am full of a cold and it takes half the morning for me to 'come round' properly :-( :-(

Is it just me that is strange like this or does anyone else have the same problem ?

Will see you all later when my eyes are properly awake ;-) :-D

Dea

I always sleep with the window open even in the deepest of winter

I wake up refreshed

However, due to the state of the windows, I don't need to open them!

Linda

Linda Report 6 Feb 2014 21:18

I cannot open the window too noisy but I have a fan on even in winter and no I don't find it too noisy :-)

Had the girls today took them for a McDonalds to try and get O to eat bought one child's meal for them to share (in case O wasn't eating) We had to buy another portion of nuggets :-)

She was funny when she was eating the chips she found a long one and then she asked me to eat it like Lady and the Tramp eat the spaghetti :-D

She was full of the giggles doing it what a difference a couple of days can make.

OH is out No 1 son is out and No3 son and partner are at the hospital - her brother is ill had a CT scan which showed inflammation on the brain.

Results of his lumber puncture are not back yet but they have been told his condition is serious and may be life threatening :-(

What a week.

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 6 Feb 2014 22:07

I don't sleep with the window open, but I don't have the heat on ........ actually, I opened the window earlier and I think I may have forgotten to close it...oooops!
I'd better nip up and close it before himself says it's gone cold...... :-D

Yes Dea, that was the word I wanted...but it was too early for my brain to work it out....

Did housework, went to town, had lunch, took friend out, cooked tea, welcomed visitor. Nearly bedtime. Night night....

Dea

Dea Report 7 Feb 2014 08:31

Poached eggs, bacon butties all ready to munch,

AND - I am now doing a whole stack of lovely pancakes ! - You can have them with syrup, fresh fruits and cream, or - my favourite - sugar and lemon :-D

Mornin all~~~~~~~~~

I've been playing nurse to JB, he has a temperature and cold symptoms. I also have a cold!

Kettle is on...............

Jonesey

Jonesey Report 8 Feb 2014 08:16

Gin,

Aren't you a bit old for playing Doctors and Nurses. ;-)

I bet JB recovers sufficiently to watch the Six Nations rugby later on. Make sure that the cushions on the sofa he lies on are well plumped up and that he has a copious supply of drinks and snacks at his elbow throughout.

Gee

Gee Report 8 Feb 2014 08:28

Cheeky!

He must be sick, he's not going to the match
