It's 'proper ' snow now !

The roof tops and the ground have been completely covered, everything is white and it's only been falling for less than 5 minutes - HUGE flakes and lots of them :-(

Don't like it !

Linda Report 11 Feb 2014 17:05

The white stuff has arrived here also mixed with hailstones and more is forecast and it is freezing :-(

the patient is improving but a bug (Sylvia has shared hers ) has made them close the ward and restrict visitors to 2 per bed.

They were going to do more tests yesterday but cannot move any patients out of the ward till bug clears up.

Hoping to do another lumbar puncture today and get the MRI done tomorrow. L is visiting him just now so will find out more when she comes home.

Gins great news about the windows. I am waiting on someone coming out to look at the living room radiators as they are not heating properly we have done all the usual stuff made no difference.

Think they might need replace but they are about 40 years old :-D

Gee Report 11 Feb 2014 18:10

If its not one thing its your mother ;-)

Hope the bug clear soon Linds

Your rads, 40 years old.............didn't know they made them back then. They do some lovely vertical ones now, I quite fancy those in the sitting room BUT..........you cant dry your washing on them in the winter!

Bad weather cleared quite quickly so no white stuff :-)

aw, Linda .................

I'm sorry ot hear that patients on the ward have developed the bug. That's not nice.

Not sure what happens over there, or how large the ward is ...................... but wards over here are often closed for a week or more when the "bug" arrives.

Do hope he gets his tests done soon

I'm still very tired ..........................

I was in bed before 9:30 pm again last night ...............

OH keeps asking when I am going to get back to "normal", and go to bed after midnight!

he says that gives him a chance to fall asleep before I get into bed, otherwise I keep him awake by changing position, breathing, etc etc :-0

Gee

Gee Report 11 Feb 2014 19:05

Cheeky OH!

Mind you a change in routine is a bit odd..........JB should be back at work tomorrow, back to our routine!

Dea

Dea Report 11 Feb 2014 19:05

OOOerrr ! - does he REALLY want you to stop breathing Sylvia ??? :-0

I do know what he means though - hubby has a 'poorly knee' - he had an op on it many years ago and it troubles him in the winter when it's cold or when he can't use his trolley on the golf course because it is too wett !!! (Poor thing has to carry his clubs and that makes his knee ache ;-) :-( :-( )

Anyway, he has been tossing and turning in the night and then by early morning I can tell his knee is aching because his breathing changes somehow and you get all these sort of sighs and I can't sleep when that is going on !!!

He won't take any medication but I am thinking of crushing a couple of ibuprofen into his bedtime drink so that I can gat some sleep ;-) :-D :-D

Gins?

Radiators?

Er.......they were invented before Jonesey was born!!

Surely you must have seen the cast iron ones in old churches......the Victorian radiators where the heat also comes up through cast iron gratings in the floor?????

Or the cumbersome/bulky type in old houses?

Moving on....:-S

Sounds as though you still need to take things easy for a while Sylvs....that bug has certainly knocked the stuffing out of you!! A shame about it being on the ward Linds.....hope they get clear of it very soon.

Dea, I think you can buy special knee pads for night time wear...just wondered if they would help your OH. Knee pain is horrible.

Went to return a jacket for my daughter today and OH ended up buying a new one for himself...and a pullover!! Wonders will never cease. :-D

Then I had a nice chatty lunch with a friend and rounded off the afternoon by picking up the grandchildren from school :-D

Nice day all round... :-D

Dea Report 12 Feb 2014 08:21

Good morning all :-)

Boiled eggs and toast soldiers today folks.

Couldn't resist doing some bacon butties and some fried bread too :-)

Sounds like you had a good day Cynthia !

See you all later,

Cynthia Report 12 Feb 2014 17:05

Dear oh dear.....had a meeting this morning and was rushing round......fried bread too....... :-(

It was one of those autism meetings where you realise why things never get done! Talk talk and more talk........changes changes and more changes......meetings meetings and more meetings. Sheeeeeeesh......I was on the point of losing my cool. So much talk and so little action. Grrrrrrrrrr.

Awful weather but nothing like the weather the poor folks in the south are experiencing. Had a brief hour of sunshine, so I tipped OH out for his walk :-D

Since then, have been trying to collate a year book for you-know-where. :-S

Gee

Gee Report 12 Feb 2014 17:36

I missed this morning too

Cyns.......YOU lose your cool, NEVER

Dea

Dea Report 12 Feb 2014 17:41

Don't worry - I was hungry so I scoffed the lot !! ;-) :-D

Cynthia, you couldn't let your OH out for a walk here - I had to go for a blood test earlier and as I walked round the corner to go to the surgery entrance the wind hit me and I had to stand still and push against it as I couldn't move forwards. Thankfully a rather large gentleman came behind me and stopped me from being blown over !! :-0 :-( :-( I was very glad to get home !

It is blowing at about 40 miles per hour here and I know that in many other places it is approaching 100 mph so I don't know how they are coping ! :-(

Off to cook hubby some tea - see you all later,

Hello everyone,

Snow, rain and wet snow :-|

Cold and just heard the trains to London have been cancelled due to high winds.

Thank goodness it is next week we are going to London hopefully the weather will have settled a bit by then.

Those poor people are still not getting enough help.

Gins didn't they have radiators in your school ;-)

We had the GD's today poor O had her parents up again the past two nights saying her ear was sore.

Another trip to the surgery with her today and yes her ear is still inflamed but don't want to give her more antibiotics. Just keep giving her the paracetamol and the Nur**en and if still complaining next week get them checked again.

The poor little mite said her legs and arms were sore. Dr thinks it is a virus with flu like symptoms.

Dea I have this vision of you being blown away lucky that gentleman was there <3

Hope your OH's knee improves soon and you both get a sleep

Sylvia glad you are feeling better it takes a while to get over that bug <3

Dea

Dea Report 12 Feb 2014 18:58

Thanks Linds - 'He' seems to manage to get some sleep but it's me who is kept awake !!! I will chop his legs off if he keeps it up !! ;-) :-|

The heating radiator was invented by Franz San Galli, a Prussian-born Russian businessman living in St. Petersburg, between 1855–1857.

but the Romans were the first to use a form of central heating :-)
