Thanks LK not the one I'm affraid I have them in all other census's from 1841 -1881 and he is a stationer or bookseller and the son Charles H had the same profession

Totally correct Dea...CARSS ...it is.
But you will find various spellings on Census.

But all I want is the inquest report if it can be found please.

Sorry Fans - I have only been able to find an article about a David Carss - Omibus driver from Walworth in 1893.

found a charles h simpson who is married in 1861 and is a print colourer in newington causeway


lots of printers stationers round there as close to london college of printing

I would expect they were just newspaper sellers LK like the ones you find outside railway stations.
I have Charles H in that census not sure what he was doing with his parents in 1871 its just the 1861 for his mum and dad I cant find, maybe they are hiding somewhere...thanks for looking though

Thank you Dea...I have no doubt that is a rellie of my friend,and she may already have it ,but we are only interested in the David one as he was her grandad and she really wanted his inquest details..She was rather upset at what was on the death cert so wanted to find out more if poss..

Maybe a email to a local library will be the next step.

Trace has access to lots of newspaper stuff Fans..

Friends have sent a taxi for me to go meet them at the pub and then back here for a curry so may be gorn sometime
