Ag labs probably made the kids pull the cart

do / did London cabbies own their own vehicles, or drive vehicles owned by others?

Fans

OK -- I am there now BTW

there must have been horses to plough the fields --- and in Dorset in 1750 there were probably wild ponies --

AND BTW --- he was not a AG LAB --- his

Profession was a CARTER

although they never mentioned a horse

But he was 5ft 9" tall --- strong enough to push his cart

the photo of 1750 -- was a push cart

Did'nt know who gt grandad was till last year thats why I started doing this because I knew nothing about my mums family nor did she.

I asked mum about herdads siblings she could name one turned out he was one of 10 children. Both gt grandparents died before mum was born so she would'nt have known them anyway.

I know grandad always had a wad of money in his pocket and gave my nan about £30 a week housekeeping in the early 60s which was not bad. If there was any money it was probably still in his pocket, but he was burnt to death in a car crash.
