Yeah it was both grandparents together I was only 11 at the time but remember all the bickering going on between mum and all her siblings, mum only wanted one thing which I mentioned the other day a leather bound book she bought him which had his handwriting in but uncle tore those pages out then gave it to her.....b%st$%d

that was mean

..... did he know that it was the writing that she wanted? Maybe he just thought she wanted the notebook .... to use herself?

Think he knew alright, but it had old accounts when they worked together so perhaps he did'nt want my mum to know what they were earning or maybe he needed to keep them....but it was probably dodgy anyway.

I think there were better things in the house she could of asked for, she also thinks her youngest sister distroyed all the photos of them, but will probably never find out

Thanks for the look-up Ginns but that wasn't the one I was looking for - you have given me the details of one in 1938 - leaving Australia and coming to England.

What I was after was the one below, leaving England in 1913 and arriving in Australia.

I wanted the details given on his 'arrival' record in Australia, if possible please:

passenger transcript details
Name: Wm WILLIAMS
Date of departure: 11 September 1913
Port of departure: London
Passenger destination port: Melbourne, Australia
Passenger destination: Melbourne, Australia

Date of Birth: 1878 (calculated from age)
Age: 35
Marital status:
Sex: Male
Occupation: Engineer
Passenger recorded on: Page 11 of 42

Ship:

OTRANTO
124675

Thanks,

Dea Report 14 Feb 2011 09:18

Thank you for looking Ginns.

Strange that the ship left England with him on it but it seems he didn't arrive? - Perhaps he fell overboard on the way ??
