Glad you had a good time at the Opera Sylv and catching up with old collegues at the funaral.

Oh yes Sylv it even made me smile that a couple of weeks ago she was Welsh yesterday Irish cant wait to see what she is in November, and I'm sure she is going to claim to be English too.

If she has no problem accessing FMP or ancestry why is she asking for look ups......then not even saying thank you....rude person

To be honest Sylv its not worth it, she will always want the last word

That st georges Hanover square I had one earlier not on the London marriages either

Hi

I think that the St Georges records, for some reason, are not included in the London Archives.

Thanks Sylvia - I am going to have a lovely time 'cooking up' a BIG breakfast !!

Glad your day went well - It's always nice to meet up with old friends, even if the circumstances of your 'get together' were rather sad.

Sleep well,

Fans, remember I said that it can take a while for stomach to get back to normal after the bug and biotics? Sounds like that's what's happening - same thing with many people I know who've also had it.

If you're still getting acidy attacks, etc you really do need to get some PPIs from your doctor - might just take a short course (maybe a month) to get things regulated again.

Hope everyone else is fine, haven't been "chatting" much as a bit preoccupied, (was quite worried about how little bro was coping in Japan - he'd seemed very "down"). Have spoke to him again today and he's fine - his biggest concern is not being able to get any loo roll!

Dea

Dea Report 19 Mar 2011 14:53

I think you are right about the PPI's MC, or something similar - I am sure her Doctor will be able to give her something to help.

I have been thinking about your 'little brother' and his family - It is a shame they can't just come home - that is what I would want him to do !!!

However, he has to do what he needs to do!

Tell him that when I was young, our weekly job was to cut the old newspapers up into 6" squares, put them into piles and poke a hole in one corner, then thread through a piece of string and tie this in a loop.

This would then be hung on a nail in our 'outside' toilet - this came long before 'loo roll' was invented !!!

Then came the 'scratchy Izal' toilet paper - awful, but at least it didn't give you a 'black bottom' (tee hee) !!

It might just bring a small smile to his face??

I must admit though, now we are used to 'better things', I would find it upsetting to be without also.

Best wishes to him and his family - and to you and the rest of the family who are worrying about him.

Keep safe all !!!

I remember rolls of scratchy paper at school and on every sheet was printed the words " now please wash your hands"

Funny what you remember

Ja...x - I remember that, we used to call it skid paper! (sorry)

Dea

Dea Report 19 Mar 2011 15:06

Yes - It is very strange what you remember from childhood isn't it?

I remember that when I was in Infant school - If we wanted to go to the outside toilet block (which was a disgrace), you used to have to ask the lady in the play yard for some toilet paper.

She would give you 2 small sheets, about 4" square, which was absolutely no use if you had a problem !

I always thought is strange though that when you went in, most of the toilets were completely blocked with toilet paper and totally unuseable - I wonder if these people brought the rolls from home or whether they got EVERYONE to ask the lady in the yard for some and then combined their efforts??? - It will always remain a mystery!

O.K. then - Why does my page keep greying out and showing a funny white window with a cross top right as if it is going to ask me something but then it doesn't and everything goes back to normal???

Anyone else getting this??
