I have done a lot of sewing.

When my daughter was in Saturday drama school I was the wardrobe mistress. I even dressed Dodi Fa yed's sister Camilla. There were armed security gurds everywhere.
I also made the costumes for a professional play in Mansfield.
My sewing machine is not working properly now and there are too many people in my house at present. But when I get a room back......

No Cynth,he always wanted to work in an office..Well now he has his own one on the Farm..!

My sewing machine is in for a service as the tension is playing up and has never had anything done to it since I bought it new in 1987...Still going well other than that though and I have not lost any of the different feet or screwdrivers and bobbins...Wonders never cease as I can lose most things pretty easily...You know, put them in a safe place and never find them again..:)

Think girlfriend paid for some of it,she has a very good job.
She took him to his first Westend play a while back...He loved it as he is very into Am Dram...He won a trophy last week for best something or another to do with the Panto he directed...
Cut glass bowl thing..Didnt think much of it myself, but he seems to like it,specially with his name on it..

So your tension has even affected your sewing machine....time you relaxed then!

I love looking at ecclesiastical type embroidery and have seen some fantastic work on altar frontals and suchlike. Once took an item to a convent to be repaired by the nuns. It was a closed order and I had to pass the work underneath a grill to them rather than my OH who was with me. Lovely women and so very talented.........and peaceful.

Went to the charity shop today that HID does deliveries for sometimes.
Picked up a new blouse, and I mean new, never worn and still with shop labels on
price tag said...£167.50p
So I bought it as I liked it and it was my size..
Price....£4.99p before the 25%discount that we are allowed due to HIDs volunteering work...Not that I take the discount anyway...

Now I have to find some place to wear it to as it is rather porche and I need to show it orf...

Cyn

I went 2 years ago to a closed order Convent in Granada - one Nun was from our village and 2 from the middle village - we took baskets of oranges avocados lemons vegetable etc from the villagers

We also took lunch - the Convent was fantastic and huge - only 12 Nuns and mother superior - we pushed large tables together this side of the grills - the Nuns the same and we pasted back and forth - Mother Superior played the guitar and everyone sang

Never in my life did I imagine one day I would be in a closed order Convent singing with Spanish villagers and Nuns

A moving memory never ever to be forgotten

Hi

back from coffee

That was a good deal, Fans!

J took Friday off work as a "me" day, to celebrate her birthday. She went to one of the thrift stores (as we call them). Found some clothes at a good price. Plus highly delighted to find a Japanese-made ikebana vase ....... she's taking classes in Ikebana, has got to a pretty high level. Always needs "dishes".

She got this one for $3 (just over £1) ..... most of the imported ones cost at least $50

Your sewing machine is just a baby!

OH bought mine as a present for me ..................... in Texas, in 1967!

It's a Singer, still going strong. Never been serviced, I very occasionally clean it.

It has different kinds of stitches, ziz zags, embroidery capability, etc etc ........ and all I use is straight forward or straight back!
