would anyone like kippers?

toast and hot rolls, marmalade, honey or strawberry jam.

tea, coffee or hot chocolate.

just woundering what to do with my self today

my belly is geting fat just thinking of egg sausage mushrooms and dont for get beans and tomartos and 2 slices of butterd door steps

I'd like egg, sausage and mushrooms as well please, it's got to taste better than these oatibix.

Stephen your weather sounds awful, please don't sent it over to me. We had a bit of snow yesterday, in fact we had hail, rain, sleet and snow all at the same time. It's sunny and bright today but that wind is bitter.

The Old Hag’s Death.

Before last night about three weeks ago - that would be a week tomorrow fortnight, I received a letter about an old hag’s death. I was so overjoyed by the sad news that every tear of sweat that dropped from the nose of my belly became a straw bank of turf & turned milk into gold.

So, I put my two cheek bones in my pocket, my head under my arm & my nose in the outside pocket of my waistcoat. I crossed canals of buttermilk & bog holes of stars until I landed in the streets of Dublin.

When I landed in the streets of Dublin, I met John Gerald the Coachman driving ninety-six dead jack-asses pulling an empty steam coach heavily loaded with seventy-six roasted milk stones & one hundred man-of-wars that belonged to the Ministry of Artillery.

I asked him if he could give me any account of the old hag who died on May Day last June. He said ‘no - but John Manning knows all about it”. I asked him where did John Manning live. He said he lived on the top of a high hill down between two hollows, outside all parts of this world where winds never blew & cocks never crew, where two pigs wrestled & danced & where a dead dog bit the hand off next week.

On my way to meet John Manning, I passed through a little village about the size of Australia. I saw an old man running down the streets without any legs carrying seven sacks of fresh air on his back. Now, this chap was a very sick man. He had a colic on his big toe; he had a tooth in his chin bone; he had a pain in the front of his back & he had gum boils on his appetite.

Well, hospital is the place for you, said I to myself. So, I took him to the hospital where I got four pounds of green blackberries, twenty pounds of white black pudding, ten pounds of eel beef, four pounds of frog’s butter & five gallons of sweat that fell from a nailer’s hammer.

I boiled them all together in a rubber pot & gave it to him to drink. When he had drank it, he took to a fit of laughter which lasted for fourteen days & eighteen nights. After that, he had a fit of vomiting & he threw up pup dogs, lap dogs, bear dogs, flies, fleas, bugs & finally, tigers, lions & elephants.

After that, John Manning told me not to go & showed me some more wonders. He showed me six little boys & six little girls playing hide & seek under a haystack made of stones. He brought me up seventy-seven storeys high where I hit my liver against a Pawn Broker’s sign.

Next, himself & his youngest elder son started trashing tobacco into peas. One of the peas jumped two stone walls, shot a dead dog that was barking at a greyhound cat that was dying of whooping cough.

After all that, I said to myself, I could run as fast as any of them. So again, I put my two cheek bones in my pocket, my head under my arm & my nose in the outside pocket of my waistcoat. I never drew breath till I landed in the north side of the Curragh Camp of Kildare with a great wonder in my mouth.

I was followed by three old-age pensioners who said they lost their heads at the Battle of Waterloo. I saw in the river Liffey a shower of feathers getting blinded & was drowned in a blaze of cold water. So, I took one jump from the Custom House in Dublin & landed on the Mansion House in London where I lived happily till now.

Afternoon All

What a hellish start to the day that was The cars were completely encased in ice. This was the devil of a job to remove. The fresh snow was lying on sheet ice and made moving around rather hazardous. Thankfully the freezing level departed quickly and removed the snow and Ice by mid morning from the lower levels at least..
Still loads of snow on the local hills and a bad forecast for tomorrow

Time for a coffee and a relax.

I've just been watching the news. The earthquake in Japan looks awful.

The earthquake is terrible all those people. I dont like the Nuclular stations this shows you what can happened when something like this happens the whole of Japan could be wiped out if there is a leak. we should have stayed with coal.

I have got my printer going I dont know how I managed to do it. the first thing I did was read through my questionaire again. then I printed out all the pages I need to fill in on the questionaire. I filled them in on the copies I did. I thought by doing this if I make a mistake I can put it right and not ruin the census (questionaire.) so I now have a copy of the 2011 census. I will fill the orignal one in on 27th March. as I have all the questions answered.

.I saw the news with parts of Scotland undersnow in places. they showed you where my sister in Law lives Montrose it looked very cold there.

Well I suppose you are all wondering where I have been ??

I have been to the hospital here as my neighbour was taken ill yesterday.
He has a bad heart and felt unwell so we took him to the hospital .
He's being monitored, and is stable ...we have had to comfort his wife and stay with her most of yesterday and today....

He's in the right place and going to take his wife to see him in the morning.

Back for something to eat ...starving hungry

Had a good day ancestor wise, lots of help from GR boards. Great stuff.
Im really chuffed as been looking for this couple for over a year and basically had nothing. Now I know they both went under middle names (no wonder I couldn't find them) and he was born in India not Ireland!!! Have dates of death for both and cemetery and grave numbers. Just had to share my exitement, lol.

I was searching earlier for my great great grandmothers parents, without success.
You would not believe how hard it's been for me to find who Matthias Flaherty married,and where and when.
Oh well back to the drawing board another day.
