Mo, you sneaky little thing, what a lovely surprise that card was - thank you. Because it was a nice thing to do, I won't mention how bad your puns were in your post about Shelly's tree........lol

Shelly, I got 2 photos sent to me today, just opened my mail and they were there, I'll have to get them on my tree now. There's a promise of more as well, so I'm really pleased.

Morning all, or maybe I should say goodnight to Shelly.

Shelly, a pun's a word that can be taken 2 different ways and it's said in a jokey manner.

It's freezing here today, everything's white with frost, I suppose it's better than being white with snow.

I've already posted this once and it didn't appear on the thread.

I've just had a look back a couple of pages, Rita and Linda didn't post yesterday. I hope they're both OK, it's unusual for them to be missing.

Hi Girls

well I have managed to make it too the computer this morning. I have had a terrible problem walking about and have been using two walking sticks.. the thught of going to the loo scares me and I have to hobble quickly. to the loo.
the tablets the doctor has given me are much stronger pain killers than the ones I have been taking I have been on Co-proximal (band from buying over the counter) these others are ones you can buy yet stronger. so now I have double my steriods taking 11 mm a day instead of 6 plus tablets for my athritis and Gout plus blood pressre, Thyroxin and these others he has given me. . for my knee. so you wonder how they know which direction to go to.
yesterday I left the door partly open as people kept coming to ask if I needed anything all except out Estate-manger who had two day s off but was still in her flat opposite mine.

I will try and catch you later.

love Rita

Morning Pauline & Rita
Sorry I didn't get on yesterday, thought I had but the days are blurring.
Rita I hope you feel better today. Really don't like your housing manager and wish we could all write to complain of her treatment of you who live there. Take care
Went to Costco and got a few bits for gifts and myself a new dressing gown.
Had M yesterday, she seems to have given up sleeping in the daytime, but is exhausted by the time she goes home.
Did go to walk the dog, well hubby walked him and got caught in a hail storm................. rather wet.
Youngest here for a Thai green curried chicken last night. Have the final numbers for the wedding guests now..... 78 all day and 50 more in the evening. Just a few eh? Have to get on with the names now so they aren't being done the day before.................... about half way through now.
Son and hobbling wife coming to dinner tonight, hoping it's dry enough for a BBQ as we have steak. Tomorrow we are going to a friends for dinner so a night off. Then Sunday and Monday quiet maybe?
Off now to clear up and push the vacuum around
Linda :o) XxX

Rita Report 2 Apr 2010 15:49

The sun is shinning but it is raining it is not cold either so it looks like I have the best weather so far unless I am with Marilyn on board that liner.

The Estate Manager is not a good subject for me at the moment. I am waiting for her to ask me a for a favour she nearly always does,. example I am waiting for a parcel to come will you take in your house for me till i come back. or I am off to the doctor will you tell people l wont be that long. humm taken in my time not hers as she goes in the morning and she works 9.30 till 12. 30. I get people knock and ask would I give a message to the Estate Manager as she appears not to be in.
In furture I will say sorry your have to leave a note in her door , and not answer the door when I look through peephole and see a parcel deleivery man standing there and knowing I am not expecting a parcel. give her back some of her own ways.

Rita Report 2 Apr 2010 16:10

I have been going through some of my family studies I did when starting to do the family tree..
Social conditions then as now dictated migration from Hamlet to Village to Town some going through chocie others being forced out through lack of opportunity .of jobs or financial difficilties . The mid 19th century saw the whole move towards industrial area's those with greater skills and better education preceded the less qualified . the early pioneers opened the way for the other to follow and we can see from the census forms most of the family that moved then had already got relations in those places. They were often single men who had gone in search of work and had settled down and married local women . brothers and sister followed with their young growing up children.

I was trying to sort out the families and why they went from one place to another other than jobs it all makes sense to me now. some of my early Horwoods moved from mells in somerset and they clustered together in Chelsea

Have any of you found this happened in your families.

Rita
